  1. BS Alert....BS Alert..... Didn't happen.... OP speaks the truth.....
  2. Whatever you want to tell yourself. I have a Shadow and if I see an enemy sniper it is a guaranteed free kill for me, so the getting owned by a Gunslinger comment gave me great laughs…thanks. Gunslinger has some potential if it gets some tweaks and bugs fixed. Cover mechanic is broken (Entrench doesn't work all the time, and being knocked back/rooted out of regular cover is beyond retarded). Sharpshooter is soo mitigated by armor that it becomes laughable damage. DF hybrids are better with the added mobility but energy starved most of the time and the damage takes a while to ramp up. By the time I am ready to unload Wounding Shots the enemy will LOS or I am CC'd. Full Sab builds are more defensive in nature and I admit I have little experience with them. I do think it is a fail to try to make an offensive DPS character defensive. I had the most luck PvPing as a DF/Sab hybrid. In the end if I had everyone of my defensive cooldowns up I did alright. If I had Entrench, Legshot, Pulse Detonator, Flashbang, Shock Charge snare, Dirty Kick up then I may have a chance to win. Like I said before, I have a Jedi Shadow and on this character I jump into the fray and SAVE my cooldowns for “oh crap” moments. I don’t have to use every one of them to achieve a kill/victory like I have to with my Gunslinger.
  3. There isn't a good PvP Gunslinger....just varying degrees of ineptitude.
  4. Agreed.... I am done trying to defend my Gunslinger on the boards and done trying to be competetive in PvP.

    Ranked Warzones = ?

What is a ranked Warzone? Is it based solely on Valor rank? Is it based on win/loss? Does anyone have an idea how many Warzone categories/ranks there will be? While I do enjoy a balanced PvP experiene, I also value grouping with friends for WZs, so if it based on just valor alone then I guess I may not be able to queue with my BattleMaster friends anymore.
  6. Alright already...I admitted to not understanding the fight. And not knowing my DPS was bad after we cleared up to HK-47 with zero problems. It was a DPS check and we failed. /*waves white flag* You are right and I am wrong..... I am ugly and you are incredibly good looking....
  7. Wow, a lot of hate going around. I was commenting that the failure on this time sensitive mechanic is harsh. I guess that equals me ranting about not being able to solo a flashpoint. @Ryan - thank you for the detailed explanation of the fight. Especially the detail on the two different vanish phases. The fight, prior to his vanish phasewas pretty self explanitory. I guess the DPS of my group was poor. We were into the fourth cycle of his vanish.
  8. Terms like LOL, and cakewalk are elitist. Especially when the only video evidence I have seen shows the group getting it done by the skin of their teeth. The penalty is harsh. If you miss the turret/interupt on one of the previous boss the damage is ramped up from 100% to 400%. On HK-47 the penalty is more than likely a wipe. And I find people are mostly full of crap when describing the difficulty of an instance/boss. IMO they fall into two groups. 1. Easy = group wiped multiple times but progressed. 2. Hard = Wiped until group quit. I think those two descriptions are disingenuous. Even though we had progressed up to HK-47 without a wipe I would not have considered it easy or faceroll. There were several hairy moments. I was the tank in the scenario so I don't know if the DPS were doing the AOE's properly, but I trust when they say they are AOE'n that they are. For whatever reason the tactic was not working. Again, thank you for those who gave advice.
  9. Thanks for the inputs (at least the constuctive ones....i knew it was a matter of time before some elitist chimed in with how easy it is). We will try the spread out method and get the person HK is on targeted quickly for a hasty cleanse.
  10. My group wiped several times on HK-47 after he goes stealth and puts that sick DOT on a random group member. Group members go down like a sack of potatos in 1-2 seconds. This boss seems overly hard. We passed the prior bosses without one problem. Every video I see with success on him seems to be won luckily or within a hair of failing. Does anyone have any advice for taking him down? We never got him below 10%. Things we tried. #1 Stacking on tank when HK-47 stealths and AOEing on selves to take him out of stealth and prevent DOT. (mixed results, didn't work everytime) #2 Cleansing DOT (one cleanse success and then healers couldn't cleanse quick enough) #3 Target of DOT uses defensive cooldowns (not nearly enough damage reduction) #4 Guarding target of DOT (I am a shadow tank and this didn't effect results any)
  11. I see a lot of loot lists and other valuable data on this forum, but I couldn't find a list of HM Flashpoints orded by difficulty. Myself and three of my buddies are fresh 50s. We all have orange gear modded with purple level 22 mods/enhancements/hilts/barrels from Artifice/Cybertech/Armstech. We all will start our daily Belsavis/Illum grind for the earpiece/implants soon. So two questions. #1 Is our gear good enough to start HMs? #2 Could someone provide a list of HMs in order of difficulty from a Republic perspective? Thanks much!
  12. When I am in WZ's I occassionaly get uncovered from stealth when I am too close to an enemy. Especially against a tank with talented stealth detection levels. This is understandable and also avoidable if you are smart. When I am on Illum I might as well not even have stealth. It seems I am uncovered @ 30-60m from any class. Is this what others are experiencing as well? Is this by design?
  13. I did not read the entire thread. It is too bad the original poster labeled the subject poorly. When I read the title I was thinking "Duh, if I am stunned I shouldn't be able to go into cover". I think this has to be an oversight. A "Root" is used to prevent movement, not to "uncover" someone. If you think about it, it was probably an accident that other classes even figured this out. I mean why root/snare an already rooted person!? The only thing a root should do to a person in cover is prevent them from leaving cover for its duration. Heck why do you think they made a person immune to pulls/charges in cover? With this root loophole you might has well have not even bothered making us immune. Roots are on short cooldowns and are ranged even on melee classes. This gives all other ACs a superior advantage over cover classes. Cover has the longest lag/delay in the game. Take me out of it and I will lose half my health in a few globals trying to re-establish it. Mr. Georg Zoeller, can you weigh in on this please?
  14. I have the game on SSD and Win7 on a slow HDD, so this would surely have sped up my game. I tried runing the batch file and it couldn't find the install folder. It came up with an error about D:swtor/launcher couln't be found. Is it possible there isn't any reference in my registry of SWTOR install? I did install it on my HDD and then moved it to my SSD. I am not smart enough to identify/alter the batch file code.
