  1. i've got a similar problem with a pretty similar RIG CPU: x4 860k GPU: r9 280x 8gigs of ram https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6nx3n9dSVk and this is a video of the gaming running at the same framerate on ultra low and ultra high for me :/ so please if you find anything that helps let me know aswell, i love the game ...would love to be able to actually play it
  2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6nx3n9dSVk i'll just leave this here...i feel your pain this is the game running exactly the same on ultra low and ultra high settings ...hopefully they'll do SOMETHING about this "soon"
  3. i was hoping for some ini tweaks or a way to figure out what exactly is causing the CPU to struggle so much , but thanks for the responses...currently dont have money for an upgrade and i've been coping with the fps since launch
  4. oh...and the cpu is clocked at 4.2 ghz and is stable in other games aswell
  5. aye its not proven to be the best im aware of that but 10fps is a bit of a stretch ...its set to high performance and my temps are never above 60C i stress tested this at 4.2ghz for about 12 hours and it ran fine , so i doubt its overheating. and other stuff runs fine ofc even other MMO's
  6. My framerate seems to pretty much the same no matter what graphics settings i use , this is a frame rate test in a warzone with everything maxed out (apart from AA because it currently makes my lightsaber disappear) and everything on the lowest possible settings ...the FPS seem to hover around 10-15 my current PC: gpu :R9 280x cpu :AMD x4 860k 8gigs of ram (if need be i can attach my dxdiag here although i have already done that on the tech support page here: http://answers.ea.com/t5/STAR-WARS-The-Old-Republic/Frame-rate-issue-with-video-example/td-p/5112942 i've made this same post on the tech support page , but i wanted to share this with you guys here in hopes of finding a solution that is not (update your gpu drivers and upgrade your PC ) Cheers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6nx3n9dSVk&feature=youtu.be
  7. feel my pain x'D ...here's a little video of me testing my FPS in a warzone at the highest and lowest GFX settings R9 280x AMD x4 860k 8gig's of RAM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6nx3n9dSVk&feature=youtu.be can anyone from bioware explain this to me ?
  8. its totally random took me about 2-3 hours to get them...i used 4 characters though
  9. I'm happy for you m8, but I've been having performance issues since launch....and well since the new patch my GPU seems to be overheating when i play swtor (literally my PC has to reset so my card doesn't fry after about 10minutes of playing) ..and i never had THIS issue in the past.... so thank you patch 2.3 ...you're probably going to fry my card if i play you ... thanks bioware...
  10. agreed, imo story content should not be on the market ...that is pretty much all i have to add
  11. It's nice to hear that u guys recognize the problems the game has and are trying actively to fix these issues as best as you can. On a little side note, as long as you keep working on the balance of the "Cartel Market vs Subscriber" issue a lot of people have... and keep communicating with the player base the way you have been recently, i see nothing but good things for this MMO in the future.
  12. Awesome work Bell ,thumbs up from me, and keep up the great work! Running a site like this takes a lot of effort and time...so don't get disheartened and stick with it , you've got a real good idea here ,could work it up to be something big On a side note...really nice job with the site aesthetically its very minimalistic and easy to navigate (have one minor gripe with it though, it would be nice if you made the background gray or something other than white ...its killer on the eyes after reading through it for a while) Peace!
  13. just popping this in here in case someone missed it . -a step in the right direction if you ask me , but i agree ..adding more of these reputations are a bad idea...one single bar to fill up and get benefits from is enough. -its a nice way to reward your cartel pack purchasers / customers and get people to chuck some more cash in to the cartel market, as long as the rewards in-game are equally exciting and worth getting...witch is a hard balance to pull off) i have nothing against it. just please ...don't add more of them, and never combine game systems with the cartel market again...ever PS: Eric and the community team are really stepping up ..keep up the good work folks! This game needs to work on its communication with the fan base and you guys have been doing a great job since you "took over", keep it up and may the force be with you.
  14. well said mate, with the addition of moving the reputation/faction to the Cartel Market UI and out of the game itself it has no place there. i went in to what bothers me the most in my previous post, some people seem to agree with me so I'll put it up here again in hopes of someone (lets say Musco) reading it
  15. keep on point people, this is as constructive and straight to the point as i can think of at the moment. -I think that this Cartel reputation system has no place next to the other ones it should be far less intrusive and should not taunt us constantly every time we check the reputation tab. -The way its integrated in to the lore just deeply upsets me from any role-playing perspective (its a constant reminder of real world money and the business side of the game) -I think the concept of rewarding people who spend money in the Cartel Market and giving them options for getting more vanity items is a great move, but again it is way to intrusive and is presented as a part of the game not the cartel market (witch is the biggest issue i have with the system) -My suggestion would be making it part of the Cartel Market UI instead of having it as a faction within the game. -Making the certificates BOL would be a welcome change, i see no reason for keeping it bound to a character. -The notion of adding more of these real world currency factions in game as time progresses just disappoints me to the point where i want to just stop playing entirely, once again making this tied to the cartel market UI and out of the game systems and lore would probably alleviate most peoples disgust with the matter.
  16. This should not be part of a game system in any way...it should have all been stuck in the Cartel market UI. The fact that you have tried implementing this faction in the lore in order to justify, explain or make it connect to the game-world is just extremely disappointing and it feels like a slap to the face to me as a fan of Star Wars and your Old Republic era as a whole. Its ironic how the greedy hutt cartel in game is looking less greedy than the company behind the people who designed this "faction"
  17. Musco....you rock ,and you are awesome... may the force be with you, this is how community management should be done, keep up the awesome work, that is all.
  18. All good points and i agree with you on most but not all, I'm just giving my 2 cents if u will. Sadly the game is at a state where it needs the Cartel Market, so the aim of my feedback is to make what we've got and what we're gonna get ...well, not go in the direction of pay to win. We can only speculate on what direction they're gonna take, but posts like yours and mine are here to try and make a difference. Cheers for checking the Topic out in any case and yeah ...hopefully we get some improvements down the line and this game doesn't end up crash landed on Hoth or somsuch
  19. I'll try and be as brief as possible in this one The main issue , from what I've gathered reading through the forums , is that people are outraged by the fact that part of the cartel system is now a faction within the game itself... the items in there specifically are not whats bothering people. Basically if this whole system was implemented in a way where everything was done within the cartel market UI instead of in-game ...no one would really be that bothered with it. Another issue is that by implementing such designs in to the game players lose faith in whats to come , most of the feedback on the forums (again this is just my personal view of it) is fear of the big question whats next ?! Gear with stats on the market ? more space mission parts? reputation gain items ...etc, you get my point in any case. As long as Bioware preserves the balance of in-game rewards vs cartel shop rewards and doesn't make any more silly mistakes like with the space mission parts we'll be fine , this whole system of getting rewarded for purchasing CC is actually a pretty good idea. I just think that implementing it as part of an in-game faction that everyone is "taunted" by instils fear of whats the next step if this blows over with no player feedback.
  20. Agreed, they should be BOL. And a way of getting reputation and certificates within the game (apart from a flat-out real world payment of money or in-game credits ) should be added. I truly hope the devs can strike a good balance with "touchy" game systems like this, and that they dont pave the way for systems that will disrupt the balance and fairness of the game (like the miss-step with the space missions that will hopefully not repeat itself within any other aspect of the game.)
  21. yeah bruh i've got some columi on top of that tioneze i'll come aswell
  22. thanks for this m8 , i've gotta say that nothing has quite up-ed my FPS like your "little" project i've tried the new beta version you've put up for download and so far its been working great i've not experianced any problems what so ever i'll be experimenting with the assets i usefor the ramdisk a lot more so i'll report any bugs or problems i come across Thumbs up and keep up the great work edit: tried various combinations of assets and it all seems to be working as intended with varying fps increses Was wondering if anyone found which assets are the most CPU intensive? Since that seems to be the biggest issue in my configuration and i'd like to lighten the load on the CPU as much as possible
