You know, I have wondered the same thing about people from other games posting here to make ToR look bad. I think the fact people love this event and its causing GOOD things to be said about the game for a change that some people are freaking out...."We cant have anyone thinking ToR might actually succeed! Get to cracking posters, and spread your doom and gloom NOW!"

If dying in the game meant more than pushing one button to revive on the SAME SPOT you just died on and carry on about your business, you might have a point. As is, you have no leg to stand on to complain about dying from a live event with no repair costs. I remember back in the day you died and had to run from a bind point naked to the spot you died on to get your gear back. If that were true here, THEN you could feel justified complaining.

there is NO COST TO DYING FROM THE PLAGUE. and seriously, if this loses them customers.....its ones I frankly dont want to share a game with in the first place, and I rarely say that.

You do realize by playing the game your being in essence forced to do certain things. If you want xp you MUST do an action to earn it. If you want credits you must do an action to earn them or have someone give them to you. Saying the company itself is griefing you by having an event ingame that you can take a vaccine to prevent is just downright trolling. Fine if you dont like it, but dont make things up just because your angry.

No one can ever make something everyone enjoys. Human nature is that someone will find something to complain about no matter what. However, I seriously doubt anyone at BW thought there would be more than a mild dislike of this event. Its the first live event for ToR, and a milestone in the game, and I think the majority understand that. For some people, giving away free money, tokens, a mini pet and xp is enough to having something to complain about. Go figure.

I was under the assumption if you took the vaccine, you didnt get infected for 6 hours. If you take it, you should be ok to do whatever for those 6 hours with no worry. There isnt a reason you cant do a warzone, you wont get infected, so go PvP all you want

Well, forums tend to attract the people who have complaints more than the people playing and having fun. More people who get frustrated because they dont like it will come to complain as time goes by than people enjoying it. Of course, if this goes for 60 days I can see people being upset after a while, but if its 2 weeks, probably not.

I have to say, based on the current ingame and forum reactions...this event is a smashing success and HUGELY popular, not in any way terrible to the majority.

I can understand coming from an RP server how you might not like it. Of course, most MMO's these days do live events so many times a year, so honestly you should expect sometimes for things "not to be the way they were". It wont last long, and it may never happen again.....so the rewards, codex entries, etc are all limited time. A lot of people, RP'ers included, enjoy some variety sometimes....and limited time events are usually considered quite fun. Dying from the plague is no different from dying from anything else ingame honestly, so if can RP past death to begin with.....the event shouldn't pose too much problems if you DO get infected.

I guess for me and a lot of other people, I just cant see the downside to this event, and what isnt to like. You can spend 2k to opt out for 6 hours, or go do 60 minutes of daily quests and have 12 or more free vaccines, codex entries, credits and xp....along with a limited time pet. Now granted, both require a player to DO something, but then again, this is a game that requires you to do something to gain anything at all.....so its not unheard of. Basically, if there were no way to not participate, I could understand the frustration. But even if you DO get infected, you dont have any downsides like repair bills or bad aftereffects, you get tokens for purchasing things for just blowing up. To me, they went out of the way to have ways for ANYONE to complain about things.

This is in no way shape or form an analogy that works. I know what your trying to say, but its nowhere near the same ballpark at ALL. Personally, considering the "lore" behind this in the Star Wars universe, this event makes perfect sense.....but you can always use the vaccine and opt out if you choose to.

Its not zombie....if you actually played the game and knew the lore its a dark side plague. Seriously, its been in Knights of the Old Republic, Revan dealt with it on Taris.....it IS part of the star wars lore.....regardless if YOU like it or not. The daily quests are actually kinda cool, fill in lore and give you codex entries and FREE vaccines, money and XP. Its not worth being upset about it, its part of the Star Wars lore.

You can also go to tatooine, do the daily quests for codex entries, xp, and a fair bit of cash....and FREE vaccines. You will end up with quite a few, enough to keep you form being infected for days most likely....and the game pays you!

The fact people can complain about an actual live event in the game is just beyond me. Its a live event, you should be HAPPY they are doing things to engage the community, not complaining about it.

If you do the daily quests, you get plenty of free vaccines, if you let it run its course you get FREE THINGS. Seriously, why would you not want to participate to get the probably one time only items that come from live events like this? If the infection kept you from doing anything I could understand it, but its not that huge of a deal, there arent even repair costs or ANYTHING bad from it.

You know, the fact they are doing ANY sort of live event is a good thing. If you dont like it, dont participate more than you have to. The infection thing, if you get infected, takes 20 minutes to run its course AND gives you tokens to purchase things. If you do the daily quests, you get FREE vaccines so you dont have to even spend money to not deal with it...the game GIVES it to you. I did the dailies on one toon and have enough vaccines that I can stay free of it all for days playing every evening if I wanted to. If you dont like how people are acting in game, report them, ignore then and do what you would do to ANYONE who is bothering you....posting on the forums isnt going to fix bad ingame behavior. Seriously, anyone complaining about this is like someone complaining because your grocery store is giving out free porterhouse steaks, and your RAGING cause its not filet mignon. Any type of live event is good for the community, regardless if its your cup of tea or not.

I am more and more of a mind one of two things needs to happen.... Either sorcs need 100 force, variable regen, adjust costs on everything, and give then an ability on 2 min cool down for fast regen and do it just like ops abd mercs, or ops and Mercs need to shift to 500 "tech" points, fixed regen, and adjust costs on abilities and have a life for tech points ability. Nothing else will appease everyone. Either all 3 need to be same, or there will never be peace in the community.

True no game will come out and say "this game isnt for you" . However, I was merely stating if YOU personally are this unhappy maybe it wasnt for you. Maybe it is, thats for you to decide though. I do know this game has had a sub-set of posters that has been vocal, loud and demanding about everything from the start, and how the game is SO FAIL because its missing. Sometimes I read the forums and ponder what exactly WOULD make some of them happy, would they find somehting else to complain about if their want had been here all along? Now not saying your part of that crowd, but when someone posts up about how this or that isnt up to standards, and should have been priority number 1, its the first thing that pops in my head. If something is vital to your fun and this game doesnt have it or wont have it in a timeframe you find acceptable, then find something that does. If your able to wait, thats great! Make what you want know of course, ask for it, dont be quiet about it by any means, but there are ways to do that without sounding like your so displeased with everything else because something you might want isnt present yet. That doesnt help you or the game. You can campaign for something to be added very successfully, at the same time you enjoy what IS present.

I will say this, SWTOR has a great story system. Building up from that attracts a demographic that WANT good story. I would rather have that in a game at launch, and wait on some of the other things. You would rather have other things, and thats valid too. BW went with story, attracting my kind of crowd. If you want other things first, maybe this wasnt the game for you to begin with. You had to live under a rock to be an MMO player and NOT know this game was story-first, story-driven, and story-heavy before beta even began. I am not saying your wrong, just that you have a difference of opinion from some other people, and the vision for this game at launch. I have little doubt lots of features will be added now that subs are bringing in money, while a dedicated team works on story for expansions. But honestly, 3 months is a blink of the eye in MMO time....give it a while to see what else is coming.

If you want an MMO that has every feature WoW or some other MMO has thats been out 2+ years....by the time that MMO comes out, WoW and the other current MMO's will have NEW things you want. Do you not see the cycle there? MMO's that are NOT out yet have to release at some point, and they will ALWAYS be behind other MMO's. Its not as simple as like a new PC or Cell Phone you buy. These games take time, money and LOTS of man hours to put together. You cant design ONE then mass produce them. MMO's constantly grow, never stopping, ever. Every day a game spends in development is time they get behind their competition. So again, do you want an MMO that is playing, and grows after it launches, or one that NEVER launched because its community is so vocal about how this "other" game has this and that and they BETTER have it...to the point that the company spendt all their time building the game AND trying to add new features at the SAME TIME till they went bankrupt, cause no money can come in to PAY for new features till the game is launched. You have to look at things logically and take a step back and see why new games lack some features that older games have.

Its not that I am trying to play moderator. If your posting and someone keeps taking your posts and ripping them apart and saying things against you and name calling etc....how do you procceed? Sure the posts might get removed, but the people are STILL there doing it over and over again. And wording things JUST SO, so it "really isnt against the rules" but they are still bullying you and saying everything you say is flat out wrong and your worthless. I can ignore stuff that doesn't directly impact me for sure. But when its something like that, do you suggest I ignore the forums since I cant use it for its intended purposes. Granted, it was partially my fault for even posting in the first place, since obviously this forums are only helpful for people screaming and being nasty.

I would think so, however there is one poster who canceled, said his sub is out and he cant log in game but is still trolling right along on the forums. Now he could be lying, since trolls do it well, but still....its frustrating.

If the forums are this bad now so short after release, how is the ingame community going to be after a while? Thats what worries me. An environment that fosters the ability to be as rude and nasty as you please to everyone else with no repercussions will bleed over.
