  1. I mostly mean things like... best Specs and FP / Ops strategies, things like that. Item Databases, good wikis. I've looked around online and there is a lot of info... but a ton of it is out dated.
  2. Hey guys! I imagine I'm no where near the only returning player for 3.0, and I was wondering what the best sources are right now for re-learning the game and getting ready for the new content? I don't want to be dragging my groups down with my inept performance any longer than I have to. I'm mainly interested in PvP, myself, but hoping this thread is useful to others besides me, so PvE info would be loved. Also... uhm... starships? I know its not new... but its kinda intimidating.
  3. To put a more positive spin on this: What can I do while I wait out those 7 days? I'm a returning player who didn't even know there WAS a new expansion before resubbing. I'm level 53 right now, on my way to 55. So what can I do that will be helpful while I wait for the new content?
  4. Hello everyone! I'm sure I'm not the only returning player, but I'll be throwing my hat out there. Sorry if this is a post you've seen a million times. My main character is Riordan, and he's a Jedi Shadow currently level 53 and on his way up to 55. I played the game mostly when it launched and for a few months after. I'm mostly interested in PVP and RP, in that order, but I wouldn't mind getting some PVE content in on the side. What I'm hoping to find is a nice large active and friendly guild to be in, get to know some people, and start to get involved with the RP community. As I get my feet back under me, I'll also be looking to get involved in the PVP community as well, but I know I'm not quite ready for the spotlight there, yet. Leveling by myself out there is awful quiet, and solo queuing for PVP isn't where I hope to end up forever. I'm a bit out of touch with the state of the game, I'll admit, but I'm a quick learner and I'll be doing a ton of studying to get myself back up to speed. (As a side note, any points to the best places to study up on the game as it sits would be much appreciated.) A tolerant environment is also something that's important to me. Racial, Homophobic, or Political based slurs and rantings are something I'm not interested in. I'm a mature player who takes the game seriously, and try to be as helpful as possible. I hope to be an asset to any guild I join. Any help finding a new home would be extremely appreciated!
  5. [Deleted] Didn't notice the guild recruitment sub forum, my bad!
  6. There is the common belief that it will kill the SW:TOR community if this is implemented. But the boredom and difficulty of getting groups is killing it a lot more quickly. This needs to happen now, not later. But that can be said of so many failures of this game.
  7. Would love to know how to do it right! I mean seriously, always willing to learn new tricks. But right now it just seems that when the proc hits it does about the same damage as my other heavy hits that are more reliable (Double Project, Force Breach, Spinning Strike, etc...)
  8. Shadow Strike (the back-stab) is so inefficient that I often don't even bother to use it even when I get the proc. And I wish I the god class you seem to think I am. A skilled player can take a tank / healer combo regardless of class. You simply got owned.
  9. I don't think we'll see any new servers until the game goes Free to Play, if it ever does. I think the momentum has already ceased with the game's numbers. And while there may be some slow growth in the future... likely the game has already peaked. The only new servers you'll be likely to see are ones for other regions of the world that the game has yet to launch.
  10. The RNG bags aren't very loved, I do not think. I had a horrible streak of luck when I got started, too. Nothing but commendations. I hope it changes... this isn't fun at all.
  11. Faction balance wasn't a problem until Ilum made it a problem. Sure the Sith played more Huttball than they wanted, but over all the impact was minimal. But we all know that Ilum changed all that. The big reason this is a problem is that Ilum gives too good of a reward to be ignored. Half of your weekly PvP rewards hinges on participating in Ilum, and as time in Ilum moves on its obvious that playing the Empire is a lot easier in Ilum. To the point that many republic players are just outright avoiding the zone right now. So if we want to avoid faction balance problems... we simply need to make the balance not matter. This means: 1) No more truly open faction based PvP zones that offer PvP rewards as strong as Ilum. This makes them required to stay competitive in PvP and provide one faction a clear advantage over the others. 2) Nerf Ilum's rewards, or make it into a Pseudo War Zone... etc... 3) Basically do not add anything to the game that gives the Empire (or republic on servers where it is reversed, if any) an advantage simply for having many more members. Simply making these changes will mean that even if factions remain unbalanced, it will no longer adversely affect the lower populated faction. This means faction transfers will not be needed. Incentives wont be needed. And the dread faction 'lock out' will not be needed.
  12. In other games this was true, in fact if it wasn't for the open world PvP problem that is Ilum, and the fact that doing Ilum gives the same daily bonus as competing in a full days worth of WZs... then it would not matter that Republic were outnumbered. Because we would always at least have fair numbers. But because Huttball allows Empire to fight Empire - they should have the same waits as everyone else. (Though I guess you guys are getting tired of Huttball...)
  13. If it were simply a choice between blind 'Do I like Republic' or 'Do I like Empire?' Then things wouldn't even have gotten this bad. Early reports showed that it was only a 10% advantage to the Empire... But along the way the FACT that empire had more players does what it always does, especially for anyone that has experienced population imbalance on other games. For some people the comparison became: "Well, I could play republic... but Empire has more players." And now its even: "Playing Republic is a lot harder now, so I better switch to Empire." The problem just keeps getting worse and worse!
  14. And saying 'Whelp nothing we can do' is valid in any way? There are lots of options between 'Let the imbalance get worse' and 'Lock out people from playing Empire.' But all the defenders of the imbalance always suggest that the only solution we want is to lock the faction down... Forget about the dozens of threads offering alternatives!
