  1. Frankly I would be happy to have more masks for my Miraluka characters.
  2. Eh would of had them both be the "Outlanders." I think they whole you get frozen thing could of worked fine and the two of them form the alliance and arrange a rescue for you because either Repub or Empire you have worked for them, been a very powerful agent of theirs and they would want/need you back if they are going to over come Zakuul. They could work out the whole Valkorian thing, although tbh that was the weakest part of the whole thing. I think it would of just been better to let the Emperor just die by the Jedi Knight's hands and now we are dealing with the children of one of his persona's coming back for revenge, against the Repubs for the Jedi that killed him, and the Empire that failed to defend him. Idk I'm not a writer I just feel like this whole thing could of been done much better for an MMO in a way that doesn't elevate the player to NPC God level which should be reserved only for big time lore characters like, Satele Shan, Darth Marr, and the like. I don't think anyone has ever played an MMO to be the big time powerful lore character, so much as they do to be a part of the world with those lore characters and to experience the event with those characters. I mean would you want to be Luke Skywalker or go on an adventure with Luke Skywalker, to learn from him, fight by him, and become friends with him? idk maybe that's just me.
  3. Been a while since I did those on my BH so thanks for refreshing my memory. I guess I can see why they did it the way they did, pretty sure they didn't have the budget at that point but honestly I still think they should of kept Shan and Marr as the main two fighting and leading the alliance while the PC was like their 2nd or something. That way they could leave themselves room for the alliance to fracture alone ideological difference between Shan and Marr resulting in us going back into Emp vs Rep like they are trying to do. That and frankly I just didn't want to see Marr die.
  4. It would really irk me if my Agent play through it. My Agent loves the spy game, loves being in the shadows, hates being recognized and went the path that effectively left you a shadow working, for the empire sure, but on your own terms without a boss, or record of her existence. She loves that freedom, anonymity, and independence, lives for it, and yet is going to come out from the shadows to announce her presence and existence to the entire galaxy and be some grand leader of the alliance...yeah I'm thinking I'll just keep her out of max level until I can advance her without doing the FOTET story line. Honestly I could say the same thing for my Bounty Hunter. She lives for the hunt, takes her jobs and no matter what will fulfill her task as long as she is paid. She doesn't give a damn about politics, light side/dark side, empire/republic or hell even Mandalorians for that matter. Give her money and your target dies is all she cares about. No way in hell she's going to sit on a Throne or lead anything beyond her small crew. My Sith Warrior? Sure she loves combat and getting to test herself against strong opponents she would jump at the chance to face Valkorian, and if she has to lead an alliance to do so no problem. My Inquisitor also didn't have a problem with her. Being a slave herself she grew to hate slavery, her one soft spot, but in the end seeks power and ancient knowledge, which the eternal fleet and it's origins has an abundance of. Being able to control it and study it would be a wet dream for her, and she would pretty much destroy anyone in her way to get it. I guess both my Jedi would as well, both are mostly goody goods, although my Knight does get a little blood thirsty and short tempered. Can't say for my smuggler or trooper as neither have really been leveled. Sigh I really miss when games just let me carve out my own story as an individual living in the world as oppose to making me some grand hero who is the only one that can save every body even if it makes no sense. If I want that I'll play Dragonage, Mass Effect, the original KOTOR games and the like. I don't play an MMO style game for that feeling though so stop doing it. It really shrinks the world and limits the story.
  5. Haven't played through all the Republic side yet but here is my Empire ones Bounty Hunter: Mako Imperial Agent: Glado....I mean SCORPIO Sith Warrior: Jaesa Sith Inquisitor: Andronikos
  6. As I was first playing it through on my Sith Inquisitor I didn't have to much of an issue with it, other than my Inquisitor would of let Zakuul pretty much do whatever they want until she found her Pirate, once she found him than sure she would of dealt with everything else but not without him. However, if I played it through on say my Imperial Agent, or Bounty Hunter I think my general mind set would be... "Explain to me how this millennia old living God believes he can some how achieve greater strength in the force by stealing the body of a completely non-force user and explain to me how my Agent with a Sniper rifle is going to take this guy down." Simply put outside of the 2 force users, on either side, the story makes no sense. There really shouldn't be a chosen one story in an MMO and you really shouldn't make the player character anything more than perhaps the leader of his own small team, IE the original game. It really breaks the immersion when you want to tell me that my character can stand on the same level as characters like Revan, Meetra, Valkoreon, etc etc. We are not that character, we should require entire armies at our back to even have a prayer of taking on those characters. Let us be the cog in the wheel who need each other to beat these epic and powerful beings. It lets you tell much better stories in the long run when you don't have to shoe horn in our character as some grand being who is the only one capable of saving the galaxy. Hell imo the best story in this game is the Imperial Agent story and you are very much just a cog in the wheel so to speak even if you become The Hand. The fact I was just a lackey or servant meant I could go under cover, I could be a double agent, I could be whatever I wanted to and response to the other characters around me. I can't do what when I am shoe horned into being the Alliance leader.
  7. Thanks for the advice, I'm more than willing to give pretty much anything a shot at this point, game is still at that "oh what does this pretty ability do" phase for me which is always fun to enjoy before it shifts into the min/max phase.
  8. Yeah I found out about Electro Net and the hindered effect in a different post after I made this post...I hate that ability
  9. Sure my utility talents are Sith Defiance, Dark Speed, Corrupted Flesh, Conspiring Force, Shapeless Spirit, Backlash, Corrupted Barrier and Shifting Silhouette. Wasn't really sure what to pick so just kinda playing around, although I feel like I may have gone to far on tanky picks and should focus more of mobility picks but just not really sure.
  10. Thank you so much for that link it is very helpful, it also answered a very frustrating question I've had about why Force Barrier seemed to randomly not work even though it says it's usable while controlled. Electro Net is just evil
  11. Can we get some more masks for these guys? I mean I love the race, literally every character I have is this race, and that being the case picking between the same 11 masks is getting a little bit old. I like seeing a bunch of hairstyles in the cartel but could we please see some more Miraluka masks? And yeah I wasn't sure where to put this so if it goes else where I'm sorry.
  12. So I'm trying to figure out how the heck Force Barrier is suppose to work. I read the tooltip and I see "this ability does not respect the global cooldown and can be used while controlled" and my initial response is awesome if I can CCed I should always be able to depend upon this spell either as a form of defense or even as a trinket in a pinch. Many times it's work exactly as it should, I can use in while CCed and have no issues. Other times this goes completely out the window. The ability will literally grey out denying me the ability to use it at all, I have plenty of force power to use it, it isn't on CD but it will not let me cast the ability. Why am I able to use it during CC only part of the time, shouldn't I be able to use it during any CC and is there a specific type of CC that I should be looking out for that denies me the ability to use it? Is this just some type of bug I have to learn to live with?
  13. Probably the former I did notice I am seeing a lot more Ops/Scoundrels and Hunters/troopers today. It's the ops that seem to be stun locking me for so damn long. What is their CC combo like anyway?
  14. So gonna start out saying I've only been doing warzones a grand total of 2 days, I'll admit to having very little clue what is actually happening, hell I have a hard time actually tracking buffs and debuffs at this point. All that said the two days I've been doing it are night and day. Last night was freaking amazing running around healing on my sorc. I could keep people alive, CC didn't feel very over bearing and most of the time if I got stunned or hard CCed my shield would daze the attackers and I could use my overload once I exited the stun to create some distance, and it actually took some focus fire or some chain hard CC to really take me out. Contrast this with today. My overload has knocked back a grand total of zero people, my shield has dazed a grand total of zero people, I've been stun locked so long I've windowed out made dinner, took a shower, made this post and windowded back in and I'm still stun locked. Even when I don't find myself stun locked I seem to melt in a split second. So yeah from one clueless guy I'm here asking what in the hell happened over night and am I still playing the same game?
  15. So I actually managed to find what I was looking for, it's the Self Target Modifier, binding but sadly I can't seem to bind it to the alt key for some reason, it's like it doesn't recognize it as an independent key and needs an additional key for the binding to work. Guess I'll have to get use to a new key, thank you.
  16. So been trying some healing on this game and I find myself having some trouble. In other MMOs I find healing to be fine because I can target anyone else and just press alt+keybinding in order to heal myself, but in this game I find if I want to heal myself I have to deselect my current, if it's an ally, in order to heal myself. I haven't been able to find a self target keybinding or anything like that so far, is there any way I can set up my bindings so alt works as a self target option?
  17. So I've leveled my first character up to 65 and was going to start the next set of quests I got on my ships quest thing when I got a warning saying "Warning you are about to progress beyond a critical story point and begin Knights of the Fallen Emperor. Any class content or companion stories you have not completed will become unavailable to you. It also means your crew of available companions will dramatically change." Wait what? So I'm ok with leaving some content behind, pretty sure I've done all my class stories and companion stories, but is there some type of storyline plot that I am missing where I lose my companions and if so where do I find it before I jump into this story and miss it?
  18. Thanks for the help, I decided I would give the Sorc a shot again, was what I originally started with back when I first gave the game a shot on release.
  19. Ok when I used the word "spells" I wasn't really referring to anything in the mystical sense so much as just abilities that classes use, and when I talk about a toolbox I am generally referring to the classes entire set of abilities that they use, which would be like total number of unique healing spells/shields/damage reduction abilities/dispels/CC/buffs/debuffs/etc. Thanks for the responses and so far if I had to compare I would say Sorc/Sage or Merc/mando sounds most likely as I'm really not a fan of HoT healing. So the merc/mandos are based more around CD management with their healing while Sorc/sage are more akin to a standard healer is what it sounds like so far. How do they handle mana mangement, is it also CD based or are there specific stats they build for that?
  20. So tried posting in the new player thread but didn't get much response beyond answering a few questions about servers so I figured I might try here. TL: DR I'm looking to come back to the game but I never really made it to max level in the past and I'm considering giving it a try now. At max level I would play a healer, and I don't really care if it's "best healer" as long as it's reasonably viable and fun. What I'm looking for is a healer with a solid amount of utility, CD management is a plus both raid CDs but also for managing mana, I like having a pretty big toolbox in terms of actual usable spells that I would routinely use. I guess easiest way to say it is the healer I enjoyed the most while playing MMOs was my Priest in WoW during BC, watching for procs, timing it with trinket/Inner Focus CDs and exploiting the 5SR while picking from a variety of spells and ranks based on the situation. Is there anything remotely close to that in this game? If not what are the healers like over, their styles and mechanics?
  21. Thanks for the info about servers. What about the healing classes how do they work?
  22. So I originally was a founder way back when but ended up never really making it to max level, enjoyed the class stories but hated having to do all the other filler quests to get levels to finish class stories. Anyway that aside I'm considering picking up the game again and giving max level a try but I have a few questions. I would be playing a healer, prolly a mix of both pvp and pve, and frankly I don't really care about if a class is or isn't "top tier" just as long as it's reasonably viable and fun to play. Last time I really had fun healing, in any MMO, was back during BC in WoW when I played a Priest. I enjoyed the hell out of abusing the 5sr in combinations with CDs and really having to think about not just which spells to heal with but also if healing is even appropriate at the time. I honestly I would like something along those lines, IE mana management focuses on a combination of passive/proc and CD mechanics while having a large number of tools to work with based on any given situation. Of the 3 healing classes in this game do anything of them even come close to that? Really how is healing in this game, is it just a spam fest or do you actually have to think about when, who, and how to heal? Utility is also very important to me. Being that guy who's on top of buffs/debuff, raid CDs, etc is something I've always prided myself in as a healer so that would also be important for any healing class I play to have. Also should I look for specific servers or are all the ones that are up and running fairly active at max level as of now?
  23. I didn't have any trouble with that and my Sith Warrior, although I made her dark side aligned with a few light side qerks. I got told she detected hate and evil but also mercy, which fit with what I was going for. At that point I don't think I was even Dark 1 yet. As for the poster who said their inquisitor couldn't get the Darth title because of alignment that seems weird to me. My inquisitor is more light align than dark, I think she was light 1 actually when I completed the quest, and I can still use the Darth title on her.
