I respec to Combat/Carnage for huttball, and if I get a CW after I'll stay in it. Otherwise it's Focus/Smash. But I agree, the Predation buff has been watered down. The spec really is about the roots and single target burst. And camo freeing you of roots/snares. It's fun to play I guess, but as a solo queuer Combat/Carnage can be frustrating as hell.

Thanks man. TBH though, Combat/Carnage needs a pocket healer with all the CC and resolve being so borked. If you survive long enough to get white barred however... I'm no expert in Carnage/Combat. I like to play all specs just to keep things fresh and have the ability to respec on demand and still contrubute. As far as spec I play around with it all the time. It always ends up being 5/41/0; it's just a matter of preference, Take Enraged Slash and Short Fuse from the left tree though. They're manditory. Lately I've been basically taking the whiole middle tree, skipping Frenzied Sabers outright and taking 2/3 pts in Dual Weild. There's no rotation really, and it's less Massacre spammy than it used to be pre2.0. The trick I've found is not to overlap Gore windows. Obviously you dont want to waste them either, but with all the CC it's impossible. I also tend to use Ravage for it's root and less as part of my dps rotation - it's very situationall. You'll use Assault a bit more in 2.0, but with 2/2 pts in Cloak of Carnage you tend to have a fair amount of resource to work with.

My pub guild has been talking about getting a team together. I'll let them know you're looking. You have any imps toons? There's only like 3 of us left on my imp guild but I'd like to play my marauder more!

Off topic, but I remember that match. What a slugfest at mid. GG's. Kinda wish there was a seperate catagory for Combat spec sentinels. I was surprised when I out dmg'd 2 smash juggs that game.

Comparing Lexi's SS with mine you should see no photoshopping or shenanigans. As for a video, sorry pal. You're just going to have to accept the fact that some matches are a slugfest. The thing is, matches like that one happen very infrequently, especially now that many of the best pvpers have gone onto Pot5 or elsewhere. Also, I've noticed that you're coming back to SWTOR after some time off... Healing output is insane now, which leads to longer matches/stalemates.

Wow. Troll or not, I can assure you that at least Lexi's DPS record is legit. She was in a premade with myself and 2 of my guildies. And if you've ever played with or against her you'd know she's a beast. Either way, it should go without saying all sentinel records are done with Focus/rage spec. It still requires skill, but when the enemy team is huddled together its not too uncommon to break 1.5mil+ overall dmg.

I've noticed an increase in trolls more than anything. And obviously as a result it makes for some really painful matches. Just tonight I questioned a pug teammate for sitting in stealth and not contributing. He told me he was eating a cheeseburger. I mean, he pays his sub and can do whatever he wishes.... I guess? Most 55 bracket wz's feel like lowbies. People using CC in their dps rotation is quite common. I chuckle when I'm being 1v3'd and I get Cryo'd, Force Stunned and Force Choked all within 2 GCD's. Clearly people aren't paying attention. In a game with skilled players misusing your CC will cost you a node or door and possibly the game. Not everyone is pro, nor am I suggesting that I am. But there's an expectation in the 55 bracket that you know your class a decent amount. Your spec and rotation should be solid. Your gear is constantly being updated. etc, etc. Obviously grouping with friends/guildies is the way to go, now more than ever. But all it takes is 1 pug that doesn't call "inc" to fack everything up.

While we've never spoken ingame, anytime I've been grouped with an LD premade with you in it I don't think I've ever lost. So...... to that end, thanks for all the carries lol. GG and GL :-)

As a casual pvper I solo queue much of the time. Going against a 4man of the top guilds sucks balls, but people often forget when they're carried. That being said, I was in a Civil War recently with an <Uncensored> premade. I forget exactly who was on the opposiing team (a few from PD mayhaps?) but it was a real nail biter. No one capped mid but we ended up winning 10-0 (capped our natural node first). Afterwards I was /w by 2 of the Uncensored guys for a GG, and had a nice chat with Panser about PvP in general. The point is, pugging ain't easy, but give some credit when it's due. (And I only quoted you CM because I've had my run-ins with you ingame, but it's all in good fun. )

I'm hardly an expert in any class, let alone Vanguards, but wait until you're geared in the 50 bracket to judge the class. What is your rotation? I'd ditch Incendiary Round for the most part and rely on Ion Pulse for DoTs to proc' HiB. SS should basically be used on CD. Pepper in Hammer Shots and the couple of ammo management CD's. It's really the easiest DPS spec I've played. Coming from a Mara/Sent that is. But having Grapple, 2 stuns and stealth scan make VGs pretty beast in PvP; aside from the fact they can do top dmg with 4 abilities

I can't predict how things will go for Imps come 2.0, but I've begun queuing on my 50s this past week, after ~2 month hiatus, and I'd say it''s better than it used to be. Could it be that the pubs have gotten worse? Perhaps. Or maybe the talent level and team oriented play as a whole has risen on Imp side. I recall one Huttball match I pugged on my marauder where our team won decidedly against a quite decent pub team. It certainly didn't hurt us that we had 2 guys from Uncensored on our team ... but the pubs had a premade of their own (can't recall the guild tag). That said, last night I pugged on my freshly dinged Vanguard and on my Sentinel and went 6W-2L or something. It's not like the Imps didn't have some good players queuing either. It really depends on who's in the queue at that moment you get a pop. And not getting hosed with a bad team composition. The common thread in all matches I won though - regardless of faction - was because my team had the strongest healer(s). Matches I lost were because we had no healer or inexperienced heals. In 2.0 it'll be no different I'd guess.

Doing some quick math I figure it was a 5 minute Novare Coast, so I assume we had 3 capped them pretty much the whole time and I was derp smashing at south. It's an old SS so I can't recall the details. But I'm curious, is there a minimum time requirement for these records? Anyways, do with it what you will.

^ Pretty much this. As a melee dps in lowbies you have to be a masochist to endure all the rick rolling from ranged classes. Especially if you queue solo (which I assume is the case). But that adversity should drive you to become a better player IMO. And regardless of the bolster system (where the gear gap is FAR greater in the 10-49 bracket than in 50's), as a low level player you simply don't have access to higher level abilities and top tier talents in your tree. Lets face it, Marauders/Sentinels don't mature until 40 (where the top talent is the cornerstone of the spec). But take an assualt spec Vanguard for example... my rotation is still the same 5 buttons since level 20 or some 5hit. Regardless if this is a troll post or not OP, MMO's are what you make of them. There's plenty of stuff to do in TOR. And you simply can not judge a class until you've hit endgame. At level 22 you're playing a warrior class with 2 lightsabers, NOT a Marauder. It's a totally different class at level 50. One last thing: I recommend leveling Annihilation if you aren't already. Carnage without Massacre is broken and no self respecting Marauder plays Rage (other than for the lulz)

I dual boot WinXP SP3 on my Macbook Pro, runs SWTOR fine. When booted into windows it's for all intents and purposes a "PC".

I'm just amazed that anyone has hit Legacy lvl50... I've been playing since launch/early access days, and I'm at legacy lvl 12 or something. I'm impressed, yet a bit confused as to how people find the time to game so much. Gratz either way!
