  1. Crap the worse part about that is it says he may return by HIMSELF. Meaning no event. This might be a one shot kind of thing or I could just be reading too much into it.
  2. If not an extension then make the quest a chain for today. So that way people who did not have enough time to gather the complete Containment set can do so.
  3. I would sure like an extension as I had no idea this was going on till later. I have been trying to get all the quest done for alts but just do not have the time. A one or two day extension would ensure I can get the whole containment set for my alts. If an extension is not possible setting the quest to chain would be amazing. Thank you and I really hope you guys are out there listening.
  4. Correct me if I am wrong I thought that they said we would have Medium and Heavy social gear in 1.2? I ask because I really would like a choice to use a lot of this gear on my trooper but due to it only being light thats a big deal. Thank you for you help in advance.
  5. Let's just jump right into it. I enjoy space combat. I find it as a great break from questing and PvP. Its easy mindless and can provide me with rewards. That being said I think it can be improved upon. However, this is not by making it X-Wing vs Tie Fighter. My idea is to add rare random drops to space combat. What am I talking about? In a word Crafting. I will be honest crafting needs love. More than it has received. Not just at the high end but at the lower levels as well. My idea is to both improve crafting and space by adding space drops. What I am referring to is since space missions follow your level and so does crafting. Each tier of gear and space missions be tied to rare drops from space missions. These would range from as an example in the first Republic Mission the Escort quest there is a lot of debris floating around. Randomly and rarely debris will be destructible it would flash just like quest objectives and you can destroy it to get the drop from debris like this a drop would be 100% drop. The second type of drop would be random from the normal fighters. These would have a ridiculously low drop chance. Next would be turrets on ship same drop chance as fighters. Then shielded stuff would be like gathering missions as far as drops meaning they could crit. So destroying a communications satellite on a base would give you the normal 100% green-blue drop and rarely give you a purple drop as well. Lastly, completely destroying a fleet carrier including bridge gives you 100% blue drop plus a much better increased chance on the purple. On the recipe side of things this could affect all professions with the most obvious being any scavenging based profession. Synth, BIO could benefit from it as well by adding special transports that would function much like debris for the scavenging based professions medial frigate, bio research lab ect. I was thinking the Bio research lab could be like the little satellites in the space station assault missions. I am sure you can see where I am going. I know its time consuming cause new art recipes ect but perhaps those could be added and start off with just having the normal drops that you would get for now with improvements moving forward. At least in the meantime it would be another way to gather. Then that could be removed and switched to the more permanent implementation once the other teams could get the assets in. Now events. I am going to say this and I do not mean it rudely at all just a fact. Events need work anyone 10+ should be able to participate in an event. I will be honest what I am going to say is a blatant rip off from RIFT. However, let me assure you they KNOW how to do events. I love that game. Again remember I don't mean any of this rudely I just want to help improve SWTOR. The first whats wrong. All levels cannot participate in this event beyond blowing up from Plague and getting the DNA samples. All events should be able to have participation from any character who is off their Prologue planet. There should be vendors for the lower levels on their capital planet. There should be places where they can go on their capital planet for the event mobs, story, ect. I have several high level character but I also have lower level characters that I would love to participate in the event with but I cannot. I know I am not the only one who feels this way. With that out of the way there should be two types of events. Prologue events that last quite awhile have their own unique currency and their own even rewards. It doesn't always have to be pets social, gear, crystals ect. It could just be a good set of stims maybe some rarer crafting materials and possibly one or two pieces of social or a pet. These Prologue events setup the Story Quest events directly by having minor changes in the world. SO the dweller below is going to awaken on illum. So maybe players on illum hear a ground shake or NPCs on Coruscant mention in rumors about it. Sometimes small and subtle that world just so players know whats coming. There should be news announcements on the site and in game leading up to these both Prologue and Main Story events. So people know they are coming while I loved the stealthiness of this the truth is we have lives outside of games and its nice to know if I want to plan to maybe stay in for a day and hit the ground running. Instead of worrying hey is it today? Is it today? Story Events should be bigger and maybe pick a few flashpoints throughout the game for all levels and add a new boss with unique loot. So this accomplishes a few things it has people wanting to run Flashpoints. Incentive is very important and here we have the draw of event only loot and rewards from the event. Then if you want to get fancy you could put in special event mods. Since we have the ability to attach set bonuses to armoring now this would be an even huger incentive. This would be again available to all levels of course properly scaled to them. I really like events and daily quest and I truly believe this is a way to keep your player base around. They are always looking to see what the next big thing is. The last thing I will say has been beaten to death in SWTOR general so I will only mention them briefly. GTN interface needs to be improved and lastly because I do not want to rehash what has been said a million times but bugs HAVE to be fixed. I know your doing it but keep doing it. The other Star Wars game was plagued its entire life span with bugs. Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this. May the Force Be with You
  6. Flashpoints would need to be the priority. The reason for this is a simple one. There is nothing more frustrating to me personally than knowing there is this great instance out there that I can do get gear for my level, get social points, experience the stories that it has to tell and then going oh wait I can't get a group. That is extremely frustrating. I am all about content especially leveling up content these are things I should be doing to progress, understand my character more, and dip into the social aspects of TOR. Social is extremely important to the level up experience. I myself play 100% lightside. I really enjoy have a dark side player in the group it feels more dynamic when they win a roll and I am forced to go with it. A few times a minor role-playing session briefly happened afterwards. If I am not mistaken these things were what was being banked on by Bioware that people would want to experience yet I can't cause I either play off peak or its difficult to just sit and spam in Fleet. Also take into consideration while I am in fleet spamming I could be leveling. This is boring. I could do crafting yes but that is watching a timer constantly again this could get boring extremely quickly. Those are why I say Flashpoints should be priority what comes into play next is Population. We obviously do not have the data you do. When you look at it and you see how many people are on at Peak and how many of those are IN a flashpoint vs how many are in group looking for one. Can you even measure that? Why I ask is because look at all those people in fleet shouting 99.9% of them are not using LFG myself included. I tried when the game was new and the population huge but nothing. Why I bring this up is one can the group finder be effective without bein Xserver? Secondly, there has to be incentive to use it. Meaning there needs to be some rewards based solely on just using it. I know the ability to do a Flashpoint should be enough but its not it just isn't. There needs to be something to get players to say CLICK this so you can get in a group. If there is not people just won't use it. It happened in RIFT and it will happen here (yes its an assumption but I am confident). I am very much in favor of a LFG tool but I want one that will encourage people to click even those who might be operation geared to click this button to play. Not only do those players bring their knowledge of the instance to the group they get but they also increasing survivability for the group because they are typically better geared and have a much firmer grasp of game mechanics. Those are my .02
  7. So it sounds like your saying to get from point A to B in the original code was a straight shot. Now after several upgrades its like it goes A then Q then F then back around to B. While it works its not efficient. The problem is made worse when multiple people have touched said code. So optimization is adding whats in Q and F seamlessly to get back to A to B? Am I correct or am I off?
  8. A question I have is when people say its the game optimization what do they mean? I am not a programmer so I really do not understand what goes into what but from what I understand you don't really optimize for the OS. Windowe is Windows its a matter of if your using Directx9, 10, or 11. Just trying to understand what is meant by optimization.
  9. I am guessing I do not know it isn't it very well could be. Why I said that is the gme never changed. The only thing that did was the OS and the drivers. Since for AMD I used the Windows 8 preview drivers but everything else i used the same Windows 7 64bit drivers that I have always used. So I guess the argument could be made its AMDs Windows 7 64 bit drivers since those did change as well. Now that being said I am not sure what drivers other system components are using that were just built into Windows 7 that are now using the equivalent Windows 8 version. It is just a guess on my part though. I have no way wihtout spending tons of time comparing the drivers I was using with Windows 7 to what Windows 8 uses.
  10. I know your trolling but I will respond anyways. As I said this system is always fresh. I have nothing on it. When I first pulled this out of the box the first thing I did was wipe all partitions (this include s the recovery partition as well as windows) which I am sure you know wipes the drive and makes it a single drive. So from that point on I have only had Windows and whatever the current MMO is I am playing. It was JUST for Browsing database sites, watching movies, Skype, ect...there has never been anything else on it and it is always up to date.
  11. Let me start by saying I have an Alienware M15x that was giving me a lot of grief even on low settings the specs are below: i7 2.2GHz 8GB RAM 500GB HD Nvidia 260M Now prior to fixing this like many have said here I was able to run any other game without issue on this system. However, Star Wars would run terribly and the things that I did to resolve it were. Running with everything Off including Shadows Updated all Drivers Ran Windows Updates Disabled all Background Task Nothing seemed to work. So I had given up. Enter the fix. Windows 8 Preview. I am not kidding. My laptop I have basically nothing on it ever except the current MMO I am playing and Windows. I use it to dual box in some games or to view websites related to my mmo, play music, watch movies, ect. So when I saw teh Windows 8 Preview was available I thought sure why not. Funny thing is low and behold it fixed my Star Wars performance issues. What I did. I grabbed the Windows 8 Preview from Microsofts site at: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/consumer-preview?ocid=S_GOO_W8P_Google_na_EN-US&semid=ef_GGL_e_6b08fdd54caebbc6f77f7e759b9ea854&WT.search=1 Once downloaded it gave me an icon on my desktop to install it. When installing it I choose to not keep anything I wiped it (only because like I said previous there is nothign mission critical on here and I am in the habit of always doing clean windows installs). Setup went wihtout issue. Updated drivers, installed Star Wars, updated Star Wars. Lo' and behold I can now run Max everything and I am silky smooth. Whether this fixes it for everyone or if anyone is even willing to try I do not know. What I do know is it fixed my Star Wars performance woes on my laptop and thats a huge plus for me. What it tells me. Maybe its not the game. Why would changing the OS fix something that so many believe to be a game issue? I am no programmer far from it I barely could get basic to work. I would like to think though I am a good torubleshooter. The first thing this tells em is that if the game is a constant which like me we believe to be poorly written. Then I change the OS and it works wihout issue. Maybe its not the game? Drivers, windows, usb port lol I dunno. It just maybe we are looking at this wrong and its not the game maybe its something weird on the systems in question. That being said my other three comps have no issue and all are WIndows 7 Pro. I hope this helps again I am no programmer or anything but I know this fixed it for me. Hopefully, if your brave (it is a preview after all) it will fix it for you too.
  12. I think its just a new bug introduced with the patch before the one this morning. As I am cybertech and also get those errors. However last night I was havig tremendous success in REing items. I believe you just had a bad run unfortunately.
  13. Takes quite a bit of time for me as well. Seems odd to not have it.
