  1. Accuracy Rating until you have near/over 10% from it, for around 100%

Surge Rating until have at least 270 ish, which would bring you to around 75% crit multiplier

Crit Rating until you have at 200 ish

After that go power and always Augment with Skill not Overkill. With our +9% cunning talent boost and Sage's +5% stat boost, Cunning and Power are nearly equal in terms of yielding bonus damage.

When your looking at mods, Cunning > Power > Endurance are the ones you should look for. As for enhancements Accuracy > Power > Endurance or Surge > Power > Endurance. These provide the optimal bonus damage boost when you begin to look for +power items.

  2. Accuracy only matters for white damage as they have to perform a defense check. Whereas yellow damage attacks do not.

The 10% accuracy PvP requirement stems from the fact that Inquisitors and Sages have a base defense of 10%. Whereas all other class have a base of 5%, unless they are crazy enough to stack +defense items.

  3. So I've got a friend who's running this gear. I think it's kinda mathematically ridiculous (augmenting a diminishing stat? over 400 crit and surge, etc), but I'm not having much luck convincing him otherwise because he's one of the better DPS on the server (we have a lot of bad players).

So I was hoping for some more experienced Gunslingers to weigh in.

They need to replace there augments with the Skill ones. That is way too much surge/crit from ratings. Doing this will increase there damage by a solid margin.

This is my current gear setup and I have nearly 10% more base weapon damage with lesser gear.

  4. Very nice video, I would suggest as you get more PvP comms, invest in increasing your power levels by lowering your crit rating. You will notice a difference in damage dealt by increasing your power and using all end/cunning augs.

Taking the two points out of Cover Screen and placing them in No Holds Barred (Dirty Fighting) will balance out the loss of crit rating as you increase your power levels. Cover Screen is only good versus white damage and not effective enough in PvP to warrant it's usage.

The SS tree lives for stacking power.

  5. 1k dps still feels to low to me. Even 1.2k seems like less than what other classes are capable of producing.

I was really hoping to hear from other slingers on their numbers being around 1.5k.

+1.5k DPS is quite doable, I have done it myself but not on that fight. The movement required negates part of your damage potential. And your damage will vary depending the number of armour debuff present or lack there of.

Your damage range is good, don't worry too much about your damage beating the encounter is all that matters.

  6. This change to the WH/BW/Champion relics and the current proposed changes to the Campaign version pushes the new proposed PvP relics into the BiS category even over revised matrix cubes.

Basically at the moment it seems 1.3 based on the current PTS build, Campaign relics are trash. I hope they make the same adjustment to the Campaign relics as the did for the PvP ones.

Making them unique most likely will be the next step, having two +113 power relics for use in PvE will drive the tanks in my guild insane if I get a hold of them.

  7. They screw up our burst entirely that's what they are doing. T_T

The change to illegal mods suck. SS isn't a tank killer. It's a DPS or healer killer and you don't need ARP to kill DPS and healers. You need alacrity to kill them as fast as possible.

2 Speed shot instead of 3 also make our burst retarded lower.

Sure we get more constant damage with aimed shot CD reduction but that won't change the fact that we will die before having our aimed shot again because we lack the burst to kill one person on us.

Class re-balancing is constant change in MMO's, adapt and adjust to those changes.

Aimed Shot then Sabotage Charge followed by a Trick Shot can be a lethal combo, with the proper stat weighted gear, can do upwards of 12-15k in the time it takes for single speed shot. Plus if you have done that amount of damage, Quick Draw is next.

There are more ways to burst a target down than three Speed Shots.

  8. Except that you should always have the +9% cunning talent in any spec... which make cunning far more useful.

The prior poster is correct. A mod with high cunning general means that the secondary stat (power/crit) is generally the lowest of the three stats.

Example Rakata, 37 end/61 cun/11 pwr but this Rakata mod is better 24 end/48 cun/37 pwr, as it yields more you damage even with the 9% cunning talent and Sage +5% stat boost combined.

The only time it would be debatable is if it is crit not pwr as the secondary stat. Then this is more driven by spec.

  9. The recent changes to Gunslinger, I have noted a marked increase in the numbers at 50 now. For the longest time I was the only guild's only Gunslinger, now we have three.

Any increase in our overall DPS and combined with any defensive cool downs improvements would push ever so close to crossing the line into the FOTM zone. I can see defensive cool down improvements but our damage ability is right where it should be, gave or take a couple of percentages.

  10. would be ridiculous op

Perhaps the Dodge adjustment would be seen as such. Though would not Sentinel's Guarded by the Force be considered as such as well?

As for the for the adjustment to Fighting Spirt (Dirty Fighting Tier 4), how is this any different from the Sentinel's Merciless Zeal (Watchman Tier 2)?
