  1. No, because that's what PvP servers are for: to experience PvP in the open world. They can not account for every individual situation. That said, it will take a rather long time for you to encounter anyone else.
  2. Slicing can never be balanced as long as it doesn't have an actual role in the economy. What this profession does, is just giving you a way to generate free money outside of the vendor trash you usually sell. It prints money. As long as it stays this way it will cause rampant inflation and will make it easy for goldfarmers who can level up slicing toons extremely quickly. They can try to nerf it hard, but that will then make it near useless because it has no role in the economy. Slicing just needs the money printing removed, instead it should play some real role, possibly in providing some item augments or in changing the outcome of crafts to be better. The game lacks an "enchanting" kind of thing right now.
  3. Don't know what you're looking at, but if you insert a mod with "armor rating 44" into an item, it will have the same armor value as a more recent orange or other item with armor rating 44. That's what happened to me anyway. Some orange items have more slots than others however. If anything, they're not going far enough into this, even though they would need a way to make sure crafting new armor stays relevant.
  4. Usually people only start using the AH intensively at the level cap. At least, that's what they should do if they're smart, you don't really need anything from the AH while leveling up, as you'll replace it.
  5. That's because they're creating different versions (instances) of each zone to make sure they don't overflow. Maybe they could ramp that up more though, or allow more people in each phase.
  6. I have also experienced this and had to wait over an hour to get back in after a random disconnect on Lettow. However, it's not possible for them to do this at launch, the queues are already spiraling out of control. Imagine how much more terrible they would be with a 30 second grace period.
  7. The game is solid. It isn't the most bug-free launch, that still goes to Rift or Aion. But complaining about bugs is indeed not relevant. Complain about the Galactic Trade Network or the UI, or the needlessly long travel time to the central station instead. Those are the real issues.
  8. Then I'm pretty sure you know many of your countrymen don't even speak a second language, let alone five. But anyway, that's what channels are for.
  9. I'm currently a level 23 vanguard with the Armormech / Underworld Trading / Scavenging professions. When I selected my professions upon reaching the station, I was really wondering whether to pick UT or slicing. But as I had heard slicing had been nerfed to bring it up to speed with the other professions and UT is relevant for armormech, I just took that in order to get it leveled up before endgame. The big surprise came today when I talked to a guildie, a level 24 commando, who had just leveled up slicing to 300. I asked him how much money he had, the answer: 150k, almost three times as much as me, with about 60k. Now, you should realise that I didn't buy anything (at all) from any vendor or the GTN, except for training and commendation stuff, while he admitted to buying quite a few social items and things on the GTN. I did do a lot of PvP and could perhaps have gotten more trash item money if I didn't. I'm really considering dropping UT now as the rewards are basically just vendor trash, with there being little to no demand for them atm. At least until endgame. But I wonder what effect this will have on the game's economy, all this money that is basically just printed can cause quite a bit of inflation. I also find it rather irritating that the difference with other mission skills is that large. So, to all slicers, how much money do you make / have at your current skill level? And have you noticed the difference with people who don't have it?
  10. For shadowsilk, you need to select crafting materials > diplomacy > type shadowsilk. Lets be honest here, the GTN is bad, it's BAD. In fact it's about as bad as they come in MMO's. Why oh why, can't they just let you search by name and leave it at that. The function is already in there, so why make you select required categories? I don't see the reasoning.
  11. There were a lot of queues on the english servers because there were were only a couple of those available. But yes, they need to do something before launch.
  12. Indeed, quite surprising as the other servers don't seem to be as heavily loaded. I know Lettow is the place where a lot of Slavic people tend to go, as well as a sizeable UK community and a Dutch / Belgian one. I hope they find a way to at least restrict access a little bit come release, full servers are full for a reason. They either need to raise the pop cap even more or find a way to discourage new players from starting on full servers.
  13. You need to pay a lot of attention to every mob, atleast on lower levels. If that Jedi Sentinel doesn't go to the mob you're attacking, but decides he wants to hit on that elite mob that's firing on you from 30m away, he will pull aggro off of it quickly. So pay attention. LoS pulls help a lot and you have an easy time doing them as a ranged tank. The problem is that many groupmembers don't understand the principle and rush into the room to attack things instead of waiting for the mobs to gather up neatly. Informing them of what you're doing with a simple "Wait for them to come", helps a lot. You can also pull in 1 mob for them to hit on while the rest is still running to you if you're in a very impatient PuG.
  14. The one issue that seems most apparent to me in warzones atm (didn't experience any open pvp yet), is that a lot more Sith players seem to be rolling sorcerer than there are republic players rolling sage. That makes it so there are usually more potential healers on the Sith side, giving them an edge in survival.
  15. Vote the way you want. Are people going to vote for their friends, who possibly didn't contribute anything? Yes. But at least it's possible that someone might show some appreciation when I've protected their *** while they were doing stupid things, or when you were the only one going after the ballhandler and his 5 protectors while the rest was doing random ****. Healers and people who protect or actually go for the objectives do regularly get votes from the 25% or so players who actually care. It's not a bad motivation to keep it up.
  16. 1) Tenacity being on a 2 minute cooldown, which allows you to be spammed with CC as much or even more (due to the volumes being available to some classes) as in other games. 2) Sometimes ability activation is slow as hell for some reason. Especially AOE abilities that require you to stand perfectly still are extremely annoying to begin casting. 3) Sorcerers / assassins and any class with force speed in Hutball. 4) Other tanks who never use their guard ability, which is a guaranteed loss against a group of people who do. 5) The sprint ability resetting after death.
