  1. My only regret is that I can only deflect, and not reflect, which is what I think should happen. Quai-Gon did it in the movies why can't I! (I don't care if Quai-Gon is spelled wrong, too lazy to google)
  2. 636 Expertise Focus spec Guardian here. I have seen 6k+ Sweep crits less than 5 times, the stars have to really align for that happen. I have never seen a 7k+. And that was BEFORE yesterday's Surge nerf, and requires me to be Biochem. I doubt I will ever see 6k+ again in the gear currently available.
  3. So I guess the other side is Grass. tbh, if someone called out Snow or Grass I would have no idea which side they were talking about. Obviously I would learn over time, but why complicate it.
  4. I was watching some PvP vid last night, and in chat they were calling one of the side turrets "Snow". I was very confused because afaik both sides are covered in snow. I was hoping at some point the other side would be attacked just so I could see what they called the other one, never happened though. And before you ask, no they weren't using Snow just to designate the side they had (i.e. if you had one side and mid you could say Snow and Mid with no confusion), they actually had both east and west turrets.
  5. To answer "Why bring a Sniper to group PvE?", your armor reduction is one of only two in the game (I believe). Plus it stacks with the Guardian/Jugg armor reduction. So bringing one Sniper/Gunslinger will increase your overall raid DPS a lot more than bringing 2 Commandos.
  6. You won't gain a shield. Guardians have to actually equip a Shield in their offhand for shield mechanics to proc. Which you certainly could do, but your entire line of reasoning seems to be built on increasing your damage, so you'll want to equip a Focus offhand, which means no shielding.
  7. I don't play either, but I personally like the look of the Sage spells better. I love the randomness of Project. I actually like Telekinetic Throw. The only one I don't care for is the bubble (sorry don't know the name), but at least the variety is better than Purple Lightning Effect #6. Also, as a Guardian, I'd much rather fight against Sorcs because the spell animation is really easy to see and let's me know instantly which direction they are.
  8. As others have pointed out, the actual number is 5%, so forgive me if I don't believe your "half".
  9. Awesome, ty. Apparently the faq on sithwarrior.com is wrong then, that's where I read it. http://sithwarrior.com/forums/Thread-Sith-Assassin-Deception-analysis The specific info: "C.) Rotations 1.) Non-Combat abilities a.) Either Lightning or Surging charge should be active at all times. If you activate discharge, you should as soon as possible activate another charge. "
  10. Sorry for the dumb question, but is it correct that every time you use Discharge you have to reactivate your Charge after? Is there a talent or something that I'm missing that removes this clunky mechanic? If so, that sounds incredibly annoying. I'm trying to decide between Operative and Assassin for a new character (I want stealth to bypass content that I've already seen/killed), and if this mechanic is as annoying as it sounds it may make my decision for me. Thanks.
  11. That requires either speccing Vigilance for PvP, which is terrible, or skipping Force Exhaustion in Focus, which is also terrible.
  12. "High damage abilities" is completely ambiguous, you can say that about any class. Sentinels included. Particularly since a Guardians biggest hitter, Focus-specced Force Sweep, is in our shared tree so Sents can get it just as easily. And I have a CC Immunity? Where?
  13. I play WoW, I love WoW, but are you saying that the reason you've stuck with WoW is because of World PvP? Are you playing on a private server that is still running Vanilla WoW?!? Because there is virtually no World PvP in WoW currently.
  14. Focus or Defense are your best options for PvP (obviously depending on which playstyle you want to go with). Vigilance isn't very good for PvP at all. It does similar, or less, damage than Focus and doesn't have the utility that Focus offers. Stance for Focus depends on what you're doing at any given moment. Most of the time you'll be attacking, so you'll want to be in Shi-Cho for the armor penetration. If I'm defending a node in Alderaan or carrying the ball in Huttball, I'll switch to Soresu. Some people like to medal farm and will stay in Soresu guarding someone until they get their 3 Protection medals. Personally I don't care much about medals, I just let them come as an added bonus to whatever I'm doing.
  15. I love using Master Strike on a BH when he's using Death From Above. Because there's no way a BH is going to end that ability early. I have never seen one do it. Sometimes the MS seems to miss though, I'm guessing because they're up in the air slightly.
  16. Force Exhaustion. As Focus, the vast VAST majority of your damage comes from Force Sweep. And Force Statis is just on too long of a cooldown to keep your Singularity stacks up by itself. I'd also add that the slow component of Force Exhaustion seems practically useless. Maybe it's because WZs are filled with Sorcs who can remove it with their dash, but the only people the slow really seems to work on is other melee, and I don't need to slow them.
  17. I don't know where you're getting your numbers from. I'm a 50 Guardian with 6 or 7 pieces of Champion gear, Focus spec. My Force Sweep (Smash) crits in the 2k-2.5k range. Maybe one out of every 100 is 4k+, if I happen to hit someone with NO gear while my Surge/Crit trinket is up. And is Vicious Slash = Slash? No way does that hit for 2k. TL;DR You're a twink crushing people with no gear commenting on what 50 will be like.
  18. Yeah I just join the random pug Ops group, so I don't know how many kills all the other people are getting credit for. Guard is the only ability I use though, and then I just afk at the back, so there is another component besides damage at work (i.e., I do 0 damage and I'm getting credit). Maybe I'm only getting credit for the kills that the person I'm Guarding is getting credit for?
  19. That's how it worked pre-1.1. For some stupid reason they changed it to the way it is currently.
  20. If you're in the Ops group, you should get credit for all the kills. I'm a Guardian, so I usually just throw my Guard on one of the ranged, and hang in the back twiriling my lightsaber until I get my 30 kills. If you're a Powertech you can do the same. If you're a Shadow you can grip people into your group. If you're a Sentinel or Scoundral.... I dunno
  21. You've had a much better experience than I have then. I typically have time to land one or two attacks before I'm snared or CC'ed or, most frustratingly, knocked back. Constantly. What makes it worse is that my only real damaging attack, Force Sweep, is tied to my Leap. I can't tell you how many times I Leap in, mash my Force Sweep key, nothing happens... then I get knocked back and my Sweep goes off AFTER I land from the knockback, hitting absolutely nothing. It's one of the most frustrating things I've ever encountered in MMO PvP. And I hate to keep bringing up WoW, but I am a Justicar with over 200k lifetime HKs on my warrior and rogue, I do know what I'm doing in BGs/WZs. I just can't do it.
  22. I can't believe how many people I've seen say "Tracer Missile is out of control, Commandos are fine though cause they don't have Tracer Missile". If I didn't wear glasses I would literally be facepalming.
  23. Jedi Guardian, Valor Rank 25 or so, 6 or 7 pieces of Champion gear. 2/10 With the ability lag and WZ performance issues, coupled with the deficiencies of my class, PvP in this game is very rarely fun.
