  1. With cybertech you get purple armorings, mods and earpieces instead of a blue ones. Of course, it takes some time and money to get them.
  2. How, just how are they as good as the commendation ones?! They are all purple while those you get from commendations and FPs are all blue! What the hell am I missing?! For all that`s sacred please, please somebody explain that to me...
  3. Well, as it`s said in the guide there are two paths for reverse engineering: linear and the one with the prefixes. Your hilt as most of the item modifications follows the linear path. It simply gets better (its existing stat bonuses increase) but don`t get new characteristics. To quote the Holy Guide (): "If an item can be equipped directly to your character (Weapons and Armor) it will follow the prefix path. If it cannot be equipped directly (Mods, Stims, Etc.) it will follow the linear path." Hilt must be put into lightsaber and not equipped directly, so here is your answer. Regarding the second part of the question, please keep in mind that all these talks are about how crafting is useless when you reach level 50. Before that why don`t give it a try? Nobody forces you to keep working on it if you don`t like it.
  4. Greetings, everybody. I`ve been playing SWTOR for a couple of weeks and so far I`ve been enjoying my crafting experience quite a lot. The main reason is because for me the crafting (cybertech) was well... fun. Based on the opinions I`ve read in this and some other threads, I can assume that the first thing people who criticize crafting would say to this is that I clearly haven`t reached level 50 yet and when I do, crafting will instantly turn into a useless junk. Well, before I explain why this perspective doesn`t frighten me and answer OP question, I must address an issue which keeps bothering me as I read through different threads. People constantly keep saying that all the great (or not-so-great hence the argument) things that can be crafted are easily acquired through doing quests, FPs and buying from the commendation vendors. The thing is, after doing all the FPs up to Colicoid`s War Games and carefully browsing through the commendation vendors` stocks on all the planets I haven`t seen a single purple (artifact) item of any kind only the blue ones (prototype). At the same time my crafting tab is full of schematics for these purple items. So before I continue, could somebody please tell me whether I'm seriously retarded and all that juicy purple pieces can be acquired without crafting or not, in which case crafting may, at least in theory, have some uses? Thanks in advance.
  5. I was thinking about starting a thread on how this FP was too easy for me when I saw this discussion. Level 50 in PvP gear, are you serious? There was one wipe for us during the cannon part which happened, to be honest, because I got too fascinated with shooting this fine weapon and completely forgot about what I should be doing i.e. healing. On the second go I occupied a strategic position atop the big box in the middle and concentrated on restoring my group mates HP. That was some pretty intense healing session, at one point I almost lost one of my mates but, thanks to the newly acquired resplendence, it all ended well. All in all I`d say the turret part of the FP was just right. It was hard enough to make it interesting but not hard enough to make it frustrating. After that things got a little... silly. Mobs did little to no damage, including elites and champions. There was almost no need for my healing untill the very end when the final boss used some AoE, reducing all of ours HP in half. This impressive feat prompted me to say to my group mates something like: "Finally some challenge!" But before I could finish typing... the boss died. In conclusion I can say that in my opinion difficulty of the turret part is ok, difficulty for the rest of FP should be increased SIGNIFICANTLY. It was easier then some of the solo missions (in particular the class quest on Quesh which I did at the same level) not to mention heroics...
  6. 48k at level 46 and 12k at level 30? Wow, that really seems strange. My 39 sage has more than 700k and I can`t say I`ve been really hoarding credits i.e. I didn`t spend much time reselling stuff on GTN and I can`t even deny buying myself some nice looking shinies on the GTN from time to time. Recently I`ve also spent a little short of 150k on blue and purple UTW metals for crafting. I think you should probably reconsider your attitude towards slicing. I`m not sure what do you mean by saying that it`s too slow. Slicing is by far the quickest skill for levelling and when it`s high enough you will be able to gather nodes on your current planet (something around 200 for Alderan) and when it`s close to 400 your companions will start to bring you purple mission discoveries 300 and 340. If the crew skill it`s intended for is right (UTW and TH are the best, Archeology and Bioanalysis are good too) you will be able to sell them for at least 20k and 25k each. Slicing is really good!
  7. IMHO, the more important question is: if this game was a failure, would I even CARE as long as play it and enjoy it?
  8. If I had to answer this question yesterday I couldn`t probably think of anything in this game which I would clearly characterize as "working incorrectly". But today the game crashed for the first time since I`ve started it on 18.12.2011. What an outrage! To sum up: the game crashes. From my personnel experience it roughly happens once a month. And then there is everything else which is an answer to your question based on my personnal gaming expirience.
  9. 10/10. It`s the best game I`ve played in the past year. And earlier this year I`ve played Deus Ex: Human Revolution!
  10. Purple Mettle Mod 16A schematic and it only required me to RE 5 blue ones. Sweet!
  11. You think that`s bad?! Yesterday (before the patch) I had to reverse engineer at least 30 green resolve armoring 14 to get a blue schematic! I really wanted to upgrade my gear with a purple ones but the potential costs of required underworld metals made me think whether it`s worth it... All in all it seems that a success rate of RE is highly dependant on luck or lack thereof. And the situation you are describing is probably far from being the worst case of bad luck.
  12. Being a slicer I hope OP is wrong because better mission profits mean more people taking slicing which means there will be more mission discoveries on the market, the prices will go down so the slicing will actually earn less money. Good point!
  13. I finally get it now, nice! I actually didn`t know that each of these "ticks" may have a critical on its own. By the way 1/4*1/4*1/4*1/4=1/256, but (1/2)^4=1/16, as it was mentioned in the previous paragrph that with rejuvinate and bonus from gear critical chance should be around 50%. Thanks a lot!
  14. Dear OP or anybody kind enough to answer this question. After reading the Handbook paragraph dedicated to the Sage seer a dozen of times, I must admit that I can`t understand a few sentences from it. There are two possible reasons for this lack of understanding: it`s either because English isn`t my native language or I don`t understand some basic gameplay mechanics. Since these sentences are used to describe what seems to be one of the most powerfull tools in seer`s arsenal, I feel like I really need some help. So... 50% and four chances? I don`t get it at all... "These criticals"? I think of it like that: when we use HT it`s either critical and free NS or not. What is the second critical? Consequently I don`t understand why is it one-in-sixteen (that`s roughly equal to 93%, right?) chance? Thanks in advance for your help.
