  1. they could make an extra social bonus for it as well. example: A chooses lightside. then anyone out of B, C, and D get a chance to roll on a response to that choice. whoever wins gets to say something and they get social for it. so the person who won the initial choice got their 8 social... but then the person who wins the secondary choice gets 7 social because 4 for the initial, and 3 for the secondary (because only 3 people would be rolling for the secondary.)
  2. as others have said, dismiss then summon again. i would like to mention as well, as a tip: if you're companion is almost dead yet you are full on life and resources are good you can dismiss and re-summon to get the companion back to full life instead of "seething" (or whatever your class heal-yourself move is). saves time as well since the cast time to summon is faster than the seethe when on low life.
  3. the event was a great idea. i didn't have much of an opportunity to do a lot of the event activities. mostly due to time constraints. but it was still enjoyable and it brought and interesting feel to the game. i believed there was a plague. the news reports and the fact that the plague actually killed you made it more so believable as a "problem to be wary of." (i bolded that to stress how important that is to me.) the only thing i wish there was more of is content for all people to do. for those of us that can only get on at limited times, we couldn't experience the best parts: the world bosses. log in and see that they've been defeated already and no clue on how long ago that was. can't very well stand there for potentially several hours for them to respawn. have the world bosses return for future world events. i'm sure they're a blast. but also include more than dailies to do in the down time between respawns. all in all, i liked it. and i support the development of future world events
  4. do you have him on passive by accident?
  5. Were the shamans in Athiss changed from Strong to Elite in 1.2? If my memory serves me correctly, I was sure they use to be Strong. Not that I'm complaining, it's a welcome change. Just want to be sure I'm not going crazy
  6. I rather like the color scheme of the updated forums. It would be nice to see a similar color scheme for the in-game UI with and option for people to toggle it back to the original scheme if they prefer that one. While I'm at it, I should just suggest to have scheme options in general as well.
  7. I've played WoW, Rift, and now SWTOR. and i have to say the thing that TOR beats those other 2 hands down is the ability animations. Every one of my level 50 Assassins moves are different. You would even expect Thrash and Valtaic Slash to look exactly the same, considering the latter is essentially a better version of the former. But they don't. With the exception of the 2 moves both hitting twice, the animations are totally different. My Sage is only level 27 but I find it hard to believe that class has moves that also look like Telekinetic Throw and Project. I've very pleased with this game's animations.
  8. i was thinking it could work similar to the way the taunts work. in pve it forces the target to attack you, in pvp it does something different. so i figured they could apply this method to other abilities/talents as well.
  9. Slight wall here, I suppose. I've seen the patch notes for 1.2. No complaints really. So this isn't really directed at 1.2. But from what I've seen in my little experience with MMO's is that PVP'ers essentially ruin the game for PVE'ers and vice versa. If a class had some kind of unexpected exploit that downed bosses in 2 seconds (Like the fact that ranged has every advantage over melee at the moment), the devs would nerf them (even though they have yet to change this example problem). rightly so. however, that ruins things for pvp'ers if that exploit wasn't apparent in pvp. Likewise, if a class is easy mode in pvp (like the Tracer missile thing), then they nerf it. again, rightly so. But was Tracer Missile an issue in PVE? I have yet to see somebody complain "Bounty Hunters just Tracer Missile the boss till it dies!!" Balancing for PVE is not the same as balancing for PVP and vice versa. If everything is roses and puppies in one but flaming skulls and poison in the other, and you nerf it, it ruins it for the roses and puppies party. Isn't it possible to make these class balance changes specific to where the problem is? (On another note, I have also noticed that devs cater to PVP'ers more when it comes to these changes. They have yet to fix the melee vs ranged balance issue because that would hurt PVP yet they seem to have no remorse for pve'ers when they nerf the crap out of something for PVP's sake. I could be wrong, but that's just what I've seen.) TL;DR: Make PVE/PVP balancing separate please.
  10. can you move your open menus around? and can you have more than 2 menus up at a time?
  11. they're making combat logs i thought. and combat logs can be parsed... thus: makeshift dps meter. be happy.
  12. not sure if the OP is being sarcastic... but in case they aren't: does nobody remember when speeder training was more than 200k? honestly that made the speeder worth it to me because after 200+k credits i didn't have the 8k to spend on a level 1 speeder.
  13. if you're a clicker (like myself) you have to move the cursor off the action bar then press the modifier and back to the ability you want to make the ability modified. will not work if it's on the action bar. they need to change that at least. change it so, say, you have one member targeted, one focused, and yourself (with modifier) and you want to spam one heal on the target you just simply press the modifier and continue spamming for the focus target. not having all this cursor movement going on.
  14. I think it would be cool if instead of the current "sith corruption," we could have face customization options for each tier of alignment (both light and dark). I found that my Sith race character looked cool with Sith Corruption up until about Dark III-ish. He started turning pink and kind of ugly in a goofy way (black around his mouth making it look like he ate something and left it on his face). So, perhaps we make it so each tier of alignment gave us assorted customization options for our character. For example, tier one can give us "Corrupted Eye colors" which would be eye colors not available in the initial character creation. Tier 2 could give us the option of the "eye shadow" effect, the veins surrounding the eye sockets, or both if we liked. Tier 3 could give us "Corrupted Skin Colors." Tier 4 could be "Corrupted Auras" which would allow us to choose from an assortment of colors for a slight aura surrounding our character (nothing too obnoxious), or not at all if we wanted. so forth and so on. This can also apply to the light side. For the sake of argument we could just refer to them as "Honorable Customization Options." Light side would get their own assortment of eye colors, skin colors, face effects, and auras. Can't really think of any for them at the moment. What do you guys think?
  15. thanks for the welcomes back i will be playing both, however. the year i have for Rift will be my fall back when I feel the burn out with Star Wars. I'm very wishy-washy with my games.
  16. Mostly unimportant post, but just wanted to see if i'm alone in this. Slight wall of textishness here. I un subbed about 2 weeks ago. My friend i use to play Rift with kept trying to get me to go back to it after i quit that for The Old Republic. He won that little battle. I convinced myself I didn't like this game. The biggest issue being the majority of the community on my server appearing to downright refuse to do group content. Got tired of not being able to do flashpoints, despite how much I thoroughly enjoyed them. So like I said I unsubbed. No I didn't make a rage thread. No need for that, really. Bought a year of Rift for $100. Played that over the 2 weeks i was away from this game. I still enjoy Rift. It's a very good game to me. But after the 2 weeks I felt a longing to come back to The Old Republic. So here I am, resubbed, and playing Rift part time (i.e. when I need to switch it up for a bit). Anybody else try to quit but couldn't?
  17. in all honesty, if i could actually get into flashpoints, no i would not have unsubbed. it's not because i HAVE to be in a group to have fun. it's the content. i love the flashpoints. i can go without the heroic quests. but the flashpoints are so much fun. the only way they could make all the flashpoints do-able with only you and a companion is to nerf it down to class quest level. that takes the fun away for me. i have no desire to have a group with me every minute of the game. but running flashpoints is a great experience for me. when more people come to the game that enjoy doing this side of the game i'll come back.
  18. i played this solo during the parts that were supposed to be solo (class quest, side quests). and i thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my solo experience. however, what has annoyed me is not that people like to solo, but that nearly nobody wants to do the group stuff ever. i don't mean opting to do it on their own, but flashpoints are not "solo" content but people just simply don't care to do them. like they're just not even interested or something. i unfortunately un-subbed because of it. it was upsetting because the content i COULD do was amazing and it was fun. but based on the responses in this thread there's just too many people who "only play with friends", "don't like group content", "afraid to hold up the group". thus making it difficult for people who even group casually like myself to do the group content. not necessarily the games fault, it's just happens to be what seems to be the majority of the population in the game. nothing against those folks either. i certainly don't feel the need to expect others to change they're gaming styles for my sake. i would just like to see people who DO like to group come to this game as well. it takes both types of people, i think, to run this game. but right now it seems there's only the solo people subbed right now.
  19. my thoughts exactly. i browse the forums when i'm not available to play the game and these cry baby threads are very annoying. why can't people just go away if they don't like something? it just doesn't make sense to me. not to mention you have 20 people making their own threads about the EXACT same thing as those 19 other people.
  20. i'm level 45 and honestly i forgot Dark Charge did that
  21. very nice hahaha sounds like a lot of "just barely made it with no health left" experiences. i really hope BioWare understands that the difficulty is enjoyable for many of us and don't nerf it.
  22. perhaps they could just simply increase how much you get per roll. when you need 1000+ points to rank up and you only get 4 without highest roll per choice with a 4 man is kinda crazy.
  23. I was thinking and i felt this was a good idea. if the tank/damage Warrior AC is Heavy, and the DPS for it is Medium, then i think Inquisitors should get Medium for Assassin and light for Sorcerers. Assassins being the "Juggernauts" of the inquisitor class, and therefore heavier armor.
  24. i got my butt handed to me playing solo stacking power until i switched to crit. power sounds good at first, based on the raw numbers (power directly effecting dps). however, crits are insane for deception. Induction talent increasing Maul crit damage by 15% per point (out of 2). Crackling Blasts boosts Discharge and Shock crit damage by 10% per stack (out of 5) [Plus getingt a crit on Discharge after acquiring 5 stacks of Static Charge buffs is beastly] once you reach the top of deception, dip into Madness by getting Exploitive Strikes, Force crits grant you 3% melee crit chance per stack (out of 3) so a high crit chance stat grants Exploitive strikes a lot, causing you to have an even better chance to get to use your Maul's plus 30% crit damage increase, plus if you get the talent for maul that ignores 50% armor. in any event, i'd say crit stat is definitely worth it.
  25. That's exactly what happened to us in red reaper. Last boss we had only our marauder left with barely any life. He threw up all his defensive cool downs and got him the last second. Truely epic.
