  1. I really enjoy heroics. But there is no consistency whatsoever on when a heroic is sharable or not. Many are sharable immediately with one click. Some require you to have advanced your class quest . Some require you to have advanced a chained quest (usually the planetary story). Some just seem to not be sharable for any reason at all (several Nar Shaddaa quests are not sharable, but can be picked up by anyone who visits the right mission box. Why are they not sharable? No one seems to know.) For the purpose of enabling people to fill heroic groups. I'd like to see them all made completely sharable. If there must be a limit on them, then I would like to see it be strictly level based and not connected to class story progress, planetary story progress, or...willingness to go find the mission box or whatever THAT'S about.
  2. No no no, the problem is not when I attack. Qy's fine in solo play (as are all the other comps.) The problem only occurs if I'm healing in a group, where my focus is on keeping everyone's health bars as close to max as I can. I don't generally attack at all when I'm healing (unless we're overpowered and no one's taking much damage) because I want to save Force (or Ammo or Energy or Heat) for when I need it. It means to get Qyzen into combat I have to change my mental focus from "Watch those bars!" to "Where's a target? That one? Oh, that one. Qyzen, that one! Go get THAT ONE!" LIke I said -- not a game breaking issue. But if it can be fixed at some point....that would be good. The issue is essentially that the AI for healer's comps does not respond to threat directed at someone the healer is partied with and healing. It only responds to either a direct command to attack from the healer (which requires a shift in focus on the healer's part) or to active attacks on the healer (which shouldn't happen if the tank has half a clue.) Result: Qyzen STANDS THERE when I'm healing a 2-man.
  3. Nope, not at all. This isn't just me -- everyone who heals with a comp active has noticed it.
  4. I play healers a great deal and I've noticed a seriously irritating problem with many of my companions. It's not game breaking, but it's really annoying. Situation: I'm teamed up with one other player to run a two-person heroic. I'm on one of my healers and thus both I and the other player have comps out. Other player charges into battle. I shield! I heal! I CC! I make Julienne Fries!! ....And then I notice that my companion is JUST STANDING THERE. "FIGHT YOU STUPID LIZARD MAN!!" And he won't. Unless I either take my attention off the other player, select a target, and ORDER him to attack -- or the other player messes up, loses aggro, and I come under direct attack. THEN Qyzen (or Aric, or Gaunt, or Kaliyo, or Corso) will decide to enter the fray. Now, as I said, this is not a game breaker. But is there some technical challenge I'm not aware of that makes it hard for comps to recognize that when you are healing someone who is fighting, they should be helping in the fight? If there is a way to implement this change, I believe I speak for anyone who has ever healed a heroic (or flash, I guess) with a companion at his or her side, when I say -- "FIGHT, QYZEN! FIGHT!" Thanks!
  5. So, I'm currently on Lord Adraas, and while I like it fine, I went there to game with a friend of mine (he's big into RP) and he's not able to be on nearly as much as I am, and he wants to RP a lot more than I do. ( I don't mind RP but there are other things I enjoy more.) So I'm thinking I'd like to establish a presence on another server, a PVE one, and I was considering how to go about picking one to start on. I could always just randomly pick one and hope, but I'm thinking a little planning might lead to a better game experience. Ideally, I'd like a server with several active guilds that are doing what I want to do. Best would be an East Coast server since I'm east coast, but I work at home with a flexible schedule, so if a West Coast server is otherwise perfect for me, I would definitely consider it. I considered trying to hunt around for a guild I liked and then start on that server with the intention of joining that guild, but it presents the problem of what if you don't actually like the guild, or the guild changes and everyone you like leaves, or for some reason you just don't fit in there? That can make for a bad experience. So I thought, okay, just find a high population server. Chances are there will be several active guilds and you can find one that suits you. But just because the server is high population doesn't mean it has the kind of play or players I prefer necessarily. Different servers have different flavors of play (or at least they do in WoW; I don't really know if SWTOR has been around long enough for players to sort themselves out that much at this point.) What this boils down to is: Anyone have any suggestions or advice for how to go about finding a good server for me? Here's what I'm after: PvE East coast preferred but West coast acceptable Enough people that I can get into heroics and flashpoints without waiting all day. (I realize when Bioware eventually gets a group finder going this will be less of an issue but no telling WHEN one will actually happen.) Several decent casual active end-game content guilds. I would like to do end game content, but I'm not a LEET player and probably never will be (not enough time.) In terms of play style, what I like most is group tactical play, PVE -- heroics, flashpoints, operations. PvP is okay, but not my focus. I am happy tanking, healing, or DPSing. I usually go heals just because they're often in most demand on Ardaas, but I'm comfortable in any role, and actually prefer variety of play the most -- that is, I like to have the option to switch roles every now and then just to keep things interesting. So. How do I go about finding my kind of server? Suggestions for specific servers are welcome, and I'd also be hearing about how other people went about selecting their servers, assuming you didn't all just click one at random. Thanks! -- Maytree
