  1. 1. That what I hope for too. We'll see at release. 2. Also likely. Or they are just keeping a few characters hidden. I doubt they'd kill Theron, Satele and Marr (Those are, with Lana, the most important characters to the current storyline). 3. Either that or a different galaxy. Or they are time travelers and... I'd better not keep talking, they might make it real. 4. Likely, as said in 1. release will tell. 5. Killing some companions because voice actors are unavailable could be a good way to be surprising. Just don't kill Kira Carsen or I burn down Bioware Austin's offices. 6. Bottom of the page, it's a concept art, beside the dual wielding Lana.
  2. I will be honest. When I saw the leak with just the text and no image or trailer, I was terrified. It seemed totally ridiculous and awful. Now? I'm a lot more optimistic. I just need to know a few things: 1) Will there be a story content making the transition between Ziost and the KOTFE? Will Vitiate just **** off while the new vilain is keeping us busy or is there no need for a transition for Vitiate has indeed ties to the Zakuul Empire? 2) Where is Theron Shan? I like Lana's new look but I can't help but think she needs Theron with her in some way to remain interesting. 3) Where does the Zakuul Empire come from? That's probably going to be answered in game of course but I am curious. 4) How exactly did an unknown faction defeat the Republic AND the Empire? Are they just oportunist profiting from a devastating strike from Vitiate? Are they THAT bad-***? 5) How will they deal with companions whose voice actors are unavailable? Like Tano Vikk's who happens to have died? 6) Why do I find that Koth Vortena looks incredibly bad-***? That's pretty much it.
  3. I can't believe the unified faction for a second. It would either mean that people starting the new storyline basically get exiled on a new fleet for "unified" and all pre KTFE players are still on Imperial and Republic fleets. Because just replacing both fleet with a unified one just wrecks the story progression. In fact, the bit about both factions having collapsed is so unlikely it funny people even believe it.
  4. It'd be cheap but if it's well done, I'll roll with it.
  5. The worst, in terms of cliché, is HK-55. Why is he repeating "Meatbag" again and again? It was a specific quirk HK-47 developed to annoy Darth Malak. Neither the HK-50 series nor HK-51 series used it (I believe the player owned 51 uses "Undesirables" and "Organic troublemakers"). That's without mentionning the dubious origin of said 55. I also have a gripe with Valkorian since he really doesn't seem to be Vitiate (His quote mentions "The Empire of Zakuul") and yet it's also an Immortal Emperor. For the rest, Arcann just sounds stupid and a generic bad-guy and the "prodigy" seems to be a rip-off of Jack/Subject Zero from Mass Effect 2. The rest of the cast, excluding Lana whom we already know, sounds interresting. Of course, if it is really what is coming and it's actually well written, then I can see it being good but then they need to punch the guy who wrote that HK-55 quote in the face because he can't do it properly. Oh and the disclaimer for the Epic Story Boost is wrong. It lists levels 1 to 50. The boosts ends at 55. One more thing that makes all of it seems weird. And I don't remember hearing about new class stories in the several events held recently. It could of course be a surprise but the writing budget would skyrocket for an expansion that is supposed to be free.
  6. I don't really feel that way. My main is a Jedi Knight and he has HK-51 on his team. Sure at first the ship conversations weren't very pleasant for HK since my JK often told him to dial back on the full psychotic persona but in time, HK becomes a lot more focused and can be made to only target ennemies you see as evil. So, in the end, it's a question of programming. A "blank" HK-51 that doesn't evolve is ill-fited to a "good" character but with time and conversations, he comes to like and respect his Master enough to alter his behavior. So, partially true on your side but only at first, I'd say. EDIT: Forgot to mention that: In the end I see a Republic alligned HK as similar to the Trooper actually, except his loyalty isn't to the Republic itself but to it's Master's ideal. I haven't finished companion conversation on an Empire + Evil HK so I don't know how he behaves.
  7. So... You just hate Disney's EU now. Stay on track please. And as for naming convention, that's a simplification. I never saw the Blood Elf Paladin class/race combination being called "Blood Knights" in WoW. Nor were the Tauren Paladin called Sunwalker. As for Sentinels, that's just a name, who's to say the name hasn't meant several things in the past? Plus, having a character named "Jedi Weapon Master" at level 10 just doesn't fit. Though I won't insist because you just lost credibility when you claimed you would write Star Wars for them. Someone so closed to discussing and who just responds to forum posts by "I don't hear you, I'm right, you're wrong, bla blah blah..." isn't fit to write anything, much less Star Wars. That and you are making a fuss over kriffing class names!
  8. And how would you call a rational Sith in terms of gameplay choices? "Not so dark"? "A bit dark but not too much"? "Totally Dark Side despite the fact I just sparred an innocent"? This is a naming convention of Bioware games. Gameplay alignement doesn't reflect character alignement. If it was, why would a Trooper, Bounty Hunter, Agent or Smuggler have to make decisions aligned with force doctrines? The more correct naming would be the Mass Effect designations of "Paragon" and "Renegade" but rabbid fans would have screamed bloody murder if they had been called like this. And once again, you have failed to explain how a Dark Side Sith, in the times of TOR (Which means, 3000 years before Sidious) is impossible. You have made clear that you dislike the idea but apart from vague quotes taken out of context by a definitely fully Dark Sided Sith lord, you haven't presented what I'd consider a solid defense of your case. You just say "It's impossible because I say so and I now my Star Wars lore better than you."
  9. Who said anything about a hero Sith? The game doesn't make a light sided Sith a hero, as in, you are the hero of your story regardless of alignement! A light-sided Sith is just a more level-headed, more logical Sith instead of a cackling maniac who spends half his time killing his allies AND ennemis fia Force Choke/Lightning. Same goes for Dark Sided Jedi, they are not "evil", mostly just extremist who believe the end justify the means. Having non-fully evil Sith isn't against lore. There have been in the past (Should I mention Ulic Qel'Droma? The guy went from near full fledged Sith apprentice/lord back to Jedi during his exile.) so having reasonable and coherent Sith isn't lore breaking. My main Sith warrior is basically neutral dipping into lightly dark sided because he is what you'd call an honorable Blood Knight: Play it straight with him and demand to fight him, he might spare you if he wins. Behave like a coward, try to bring other people into the fight or hide behind anyone and he'll be merciless. I find that more believable as a character than my full dark side inquisitor (I willingly play him as a caricature of the "evil Sith" and it's at time so laughable...) who spends half his time deviating from his objective to kick a baby down a sewer pipe or fart on someone meal just because.
  10. All I'm saying now it that I prefer to wait. Yes there is evidence but until we know more, I have so many questions about what is said that I just cannot think "Yeah, that'll rock." I mispoke I think, what I meant is "Until I have more precise info, I'm not hyped, it's not clear enough yet."
  11. Allright, I'll consider it as a definitive possibility. But I still want to see the announcement because tons of things in there just bug me. I'll give it the benefit of doubt Edit: I get what bugged me. I assumed that the cast meant "New companions". My mistake. It's more believable now. Still a problem with Arcann (Sounds to much like Arcane, kind of magic) and Valkorion (Why a second Immortal Emperor? Except of course if after Ziost Vitiate changed his name to Valkorion and conquered the planet he claims to rule in the quote.)
  12. I think I painfully reach 10 millions accros 15 characters, at best. I'm not good at gathering money.
  13. Well, there was one guy who made up a round up of a theorized sequel to the Rise of the Emperor storyline that was almost believable so... As said, until the official announcement, I'll take everything said here with a grain of salt. It just sounds so weird. Plus, I don't have that many credits
  14. Then I just have to curve into a ball and claim those were doctored screenshots because it sounds bad, really, really bad. Plus, the Vitiate subplot is not over so... It'd feel awkward if the Fallen Empire wasn't tied to him and yet no mention of him on the description. Until proven wrong by Bioware and EA, I simply refuse to believe this feature list.
  15. To be fully honest, I call hoax on the "leak" copy pasted by the OP: -Start at level 60 would only work for a new class. But new class mean class stories to flesh it out. If that is the case, all of the eight previous classes must have new stories too, if not, everyone will flock to this "Outlander" character. I can be wrong of course... If "The Outlander" is just a moniker for the player character during/following the new story, then starting at level 60 makes even less sense. What of the personal story? Closed off to new players? Played fully at level 60? Not convinced. -Having a hand-picked crew with new and old characters? Curious. Does that mean that starting with KotFE we lose our whole crew and we get to rectruit them back and replace character we don't like with new ones with similar skillset? Does that mean that previously important characters will become companions? How will they avoid inconsistencies if you can still play older content where they were NPCs? -Niko Okarr siding with an Imp character? I barely see him joining a Jedi or a Trooper so a Sith? Doubtful or they need a very well written excuse. -Valkorion the Immortal Emperor. Emperor of what exactly? Not the Sith Emperor obviously, his name is either Vitiate or Tenebrae. So a new Emperor? But it seems the Fallen Empire is the new menace, so why Valkorion (Terrible fan-fic sounding name by the way, though it's often the case in TOR) join the player? -Lana on the Republic side? Even when romanced by a Rep sided characters she vehemently refuses the offer to defect. Very unlikely. -The next three characters are honestly not believable. They seem like stock roles inspired by previous Bioware characters, especially the first one who seems like a Jack/Subject Zero rehash. -HK-55? What would be the point of having HK-51 and 55 on the team? 51 was a paid character, as in, you need to be subscribed or pay an authorization to access Section X to get him. And even after that he cost 1 million cred for new characters. So, sorry if I sound arrogant or negative but this sounds like a reddit user wet dream/ fan-fic made real. Nothing fits and it just sounds so much worse than the worst TOR ever offered. Maybe Monday will prove me right. But I don't believe so.
  16. At the time, Obi-Wan was rejected as a potential apprentice by Qui-Gon for a simple reason: He couldn't control his emotions properly and during a Tournament Qui-Gon witnessed, Obi-Wan fought and defeated his rival, Bruck Chun in a rather violent way. Qui-Gon having had his second apprentice, Xanatos, turning to the Dark Side before, he refused to risk training Obi-Wan. Since Obi-Wan was getting too old for apprenticeship, he was sent to the Agri Corps (He had failed to be picked up twice before the tournament). As it happened, Qui-Gon was on the same ship as Obi-Wan and they had two adventures together (One aboard the ship and one on Bandomeer) before Obi-Wan offered to sacrifice himself to save Qui-Gon. They found a loophole and Qui-Gon, impressed by Obi-Wan's courage and dedication to a man who a rejected him several times before, chose to make him his Padawan. Bottom line? Read "Jedi Apprentice" by Jude Watson (The whole series) it's awesome.
Merci d'avance.
