  1. I looked through those forums. No solutions were found. Yes I'm serious.
  2. The PTS is now up and I getting absolutely spam-deluged with this error at Main Assets: 296. Download speed just drops off down to zero and the Network Error message appears.
  3. I always run out of the area of effect of "forced dance" items. I was in a guild that used to spam them while doing things like Operations and Rampages. One member was a troll, he would specifically use sorcerer/sage Force Pull on me just before throwing down the dance droid. What I object to the most about it, is that another person takes control of my character out of combat. I accept the importance of CC in PVP. But out of combat, I should have sole control of my character.
  4. A few people said they have soloed the latter, but that doesn't mean just anyone can do it. Every so often I see someone doing an LFG for one of these missions, but I never see anyone x up for them. I don't see this ever actually happening because it would mean changing old content, but after this many years, I'd be elated if it did: Making the heroic quests soloable with a strong companion. Tone it down a little. I understand the Macrobinocular mission finale is minimum 4 people on mechanics alone, and so that would mean major changes that I never see happening, but if it ever did, I think a LOT of people would be happy. It would mean being able to keep the mission items WITHOUT being forced to carry a mission around in the log ad infinitum. EDIT: Possibly make completing the mission legacy wide instead of character specific? One of my toons finished the seeker droid finale mission with a group, a long time ago. Another is on the second to last mission for the macrobinoculars but I've never been able to get a group for that.
  5. With the downloading bar at "Main assets: 296," the narrow download bar (there are two, one is narrow, shows the progress on the current "portion," one is wide, shows overall progress) goes all the way to the end... and then the download speed gradually drops to zero and "Network Error while downloading patch data. Retrying... (310)" appears just above the left side of the download bars. This happens over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over through countless retry attempts. It absolutely absolutely ***ABSOLUTELY*** refuses to go past that point. I've been banging my head against that brick wall since last night. I don't know where else to post this. To my knowledge I don't have BitRaider. There's a BitRaider folder on my hard drive but I'm not sure if the program itself is active. I only see three files: BRConfig_swtor_swtor, swtor_swtor.bitraid, and swtor_swtor_master.bitraid. No executable or batch files.
  6. There's no reason Bioware wouldn't pull another switcheroo, but it's worth noting that no companions returned DURING Knights of the Eternal Throne. Aside from the returns at the end of KOTFE (Guss and Rusk), no other companions returned until after the Eternal Empire was defeated. The point of that? ALL companions returning after the Eternal Empire was defeated, with the exceptions of Raina Temple, Quinn and Elara Dorne, were ONLY available to the original classes. Only Smugglers got Corso or Risha. Only Agents got Vector. Only Inquisitors got Andronikos and Ashara. Only Jedi Consulars got Felix Iresso. Only Sith Warriors got Jaesa. The only reason Smugglers got Mako and Bounty Hunters got Akaavi was that the two companions became partners and came together in a package deal. No other class got either of them. Even in Jedi Under Siege, only Jedi Knights got Doc and only Jedi Consulars got Nadia. Only Sith Inquisitors got Khem Val. Raina Temple was the only companion that everyone got. Quinn joined whoever sided with the Empire during the Iokath Story; Elara Dorne joined whoever sided with the Republic. Not "everyone" got them, either. Also, only Sith Warriors were able to kill Quinn for his past transgressions against the player. So Bioware would be pulling a major deviation from that plan, to make Kira and Scourge available to everyone. Unless Jedi Knights are the only ones who get a follow-up mission in the near future. Again, there's no reason why Bioware WOULDN'T do this, but it would be a big change from the way post-KOTET companions have been returning. Will other classes get Tharan Cedrax and Zenith as well, or only Jedi Consulars? Sorry, but I'm part of the "it's not **ABSOLUTELY** indisputable FACT. It's an opinion, and a persuasive one, but still just an opinion" crowd.
  7. You can walk while charging your mega-beam cannon (that's what I'm calling it in this post, anyway), and while doing most of your attacks. Keep moving. Don't stop. Walk, shoot. Walk, shoot. When rocket-launching skytroopers land and charge up their rockets, take them out. One of the cardinal rules of almost any operation boss fight is to kill adds ASAP. It's no different in this one. Also, like Steve said, there's a repair station right near the area where the fight takes place. It looks like a green circle of light. Step into it before you start the fight. Finally I'd suggest using all your attacks, not just stomp. Use your missiles. Use your mega-beam cannon. Use the regular blaster cannon. Use all your attacks. Keep moving around constantly while doing it.
  8. Groups that disband for no reason other than no stealther is available for EV (between first and second boss), EC (up to first boss), Ravagers (before last boss) or TOS (same as Ravagers). Everyone screaming at everyone else to level a stealther. I pray for the day that Bioware gives all those key mobs in those key areas, "Super Stealth Detection." Then I'll be posting about, "All the people that refuse to do EV, EC, Ravagers or TOS because they can't be stealthed anymore.
  9. I don't know about the trainer part, you will probably have to repeat a LITTLE bit of the chapter but I doubt you'd have to start over from the beginning. I'm putting some tips for defeating Vaylin in "spoiler" tags, just click the "spoiler" icon to see them: Following these tips should help you more than visiting a trainer. Unless you have just a small handful of abilities, which you shouldn't if you started at level 65 via a token.
  10. That's ANOTHER good point. A LS Jedi Consular would see wookiees as more humanoid than animal, despite their semi-******* nature; and as valuable allies. They would not see them as merely prey to hunt. Qyzen is utterly unable to conceptualize that; it's made clear in his personal companion story line that wookiees are "worth many jagganath points." In fact, he does try to give the Consular a wookiee pelt during his companion story line. In fact, Bioware completely dropped the ball on a potential bit of story involving the Alliance alerts for Qyzen and Bowdaar. Both can be recruited by anyone. Qyzen and Bowdaar would probably not get along, and there was potential for some story material there. It would be all that the Alliance staff could do to keep Qyzen and his stalkers away from Bowdaar. EDIT: Why does the website auto-bleep the word best + ial? It means, like a beast in nature.
  11. I'm not AGAINST it, per se, but I would find it odd. I find the Khem Val romance odd, too, if you're wondering. But maybe that's why Bioware would add something like this. Because it's odd. I do see some questions Bioware would have to overcome: 1) Qyzen may grow to love the Consular, but never as much as he loves the Scorekeeper and the Hunt. I'm not sure a humanoid species needing to be truly loved would want to settle for third place in her partner's heart. Or would male Consulars be able to romance Qyzen also, because as far as I can tell, Khem 'swing both ways,' too. 2) Qyzen views the Consular as the Herald of the Scorekeeper. Would that make romancing the Consular, some kind of heresy? A severe affront to the Trandoshan goddess? Or no? If you're going to say no, don't just say it because you want to see this happen so badly. 3) Whether or not Qyzen would ever like to have children, would the Consular? Are children even possible between a reptilian and a mammalian species? I know it happened in V, the old 1980's miniseries and the spinoff series, so this isn't as big a hurdle. Maybe these points are not insurmountable, but Bioware would need to address them. ... or would they, given that they just stuck the Khem Val romance in there without any "but what about?" 's.
  12. Vulkk is also a competent alternative to Dulfy, who is currently active.
  13. I'd TRY this, but the game has enough limited replay value as is. I'm one of several people who continues playing for the social contact. Take that away and I might as well just play Microsoft Sudoku or Mahjongg Titans (Windows 7 version, made Win 10 compatible).
  14. Except that the Alliance doesn't formally rejoin the Outlander (player) 's original faction. They're more a cheerleader/propaganda officer (Think the Hearts and Minds mission speech) meant to improve morale and give a boost. But the Alliance itself is still an independent third party. Further, what about Saboteurs? Not everyone is a loyalist. My merc secretly works for the Republic and my scoundrel secretly works for the Empire. Is my merc going to tell Xalek, "You ought to know that I'm secretly working for the Republic so maybe you might want to go back home." ? So much for secretly, right? What do you think Xalek is going to do soon as he's back on Dromund Kaas? He's gonna blab to the Dark Council or Malgus. Same with my scoundrel and Aric Jorgan... although my scoundrel actually banished Aric Jorgan from the Alliance after the mess-up with the Gemini Frequency (Chapters 12 & 13, KOTFE) so there isn't even the chance for that. Your suggestion isn't BAD, but there are factors it doesn't take into account.
  15. Like you said, it's a propaganda speech. Which fits because your job as a "loyalist" is to improve Republic morale. Any answers other than "REPUBLIC ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!" does not fit with that agenda. Even when the reporter acknowledges how the Republic was not as good to you during the war with Zakuul, as the Empire was, you're expected to be 100% republic in your heart and mind-- or, if not, you're expected to SAY so anyway, to make the everyday-people watching the broadcast, to feel proud and patriotic. The Imperial speech for Imperial loyalists has a tad more flexibility, Like the character of "The Girl" in the movie Season of the Witch says: "We believe what we want to believe."
  16. Okay, I'm assuming you've at least started Knights of the Fallen Empire and/or Knights of the Eternal Throne? Because you don't lose any companions until beginning one of those expansion points (4.x and 5.x, respectively) During the course of that campaign, your companions scatter about the galaxy, until and unless you find and recruit them. Why none of the companions you've reunited with, are on your ship, that's just the way it's programmed. Companions you reunite with are available for use, but just don't appear on your ship anymore. Remember that your ship is unavailable until Chapter IX of Knights of the Fallen Empire, so presumably it's a different "version" of your ship; one that doesn't show your companions. There have been discussion threads about restoring companions to ships or even being able to choose which ones to place there; not all companions stay with you. For example, the voice actor for Tanno Vik (trooper companion) passed away in real life, so the companion was written out of the story. The companion SCORPIO is also written out of the story in one of two ways. So anyway, that's why reunited companions don't appear on your ship. Now, as to where Jaesa appears-- on Odessen? I guess you mean, in the Alliance Base? Unfortunately, not all companions appear there. "Main" characters (Kaliyo, Aric Jorgan, Gault, Vette, Torian) who are directly recruited through main chapters as opposed to Alliance Alerts, don't appear in the Alliance Base. Also, companions recruited during the Iokath story or later (Quinn and Jaesa qualify for this) also don't appear in the Base. Why this is, I don't really know.
  17. Looking for a guild that still runs GF ops. I'm moderately familiar with ToS (have completed it a couple of times) and I haven't been in VOMTG yet, but am willing to learn. I know all others well. Some conquest is okay, but GF ops is where I'm happiest. Achievement runs is also good, and if I can find a partner or two, I like the occasional Star Fortress run as well. I have one toon of each advanced class, but I'm not looking to guild all of them. A guild with both Imp and Pub branches preferred, but not necessary. Message me with details.
  18. People sometimes troll the General and Allies channel with "Christian" stuff, but I doubt they're more than just that: trolls. Truthfully, you need to be more specific about what makes a guild "Christian." If you're just looking for a guild that doesn't curse, there are plenty of those. Any guild that lets members' children view guild chat and/or listen to VOIP will usually have language rules. If, OTOH, you're looking for a guild whose RL members hate people of same-sex orientation and are strict pro-birthers, most people here will outright refuse to help you find them.
  19. Thirded. I tried to do Saboteur Spy Games on my Merc, scoured the entire Gorinth Canyon on Balmorra and Lake Brell on Taris. Nothing. No gold outlines to click to deploy the spy droids.
  20. I meet with my Alliance staff in Hearts and Minds. Koth Vortena is in attendance. He asks if the Alliance can (REDACTED-- something regarding his home planet of Zakuul) Koth was not supposed to be there at all. I sent him into exile during KOTET. I thought it was funny when I started Ossus and Koth is suddenly in my list of Active "Main characters" in the Companions & Contacts window and appears once more in my Alliance War Room. Does this mean he's officially returned to my Alliance and is back from exile? It would have been KINDA nice if the game told me as much, like in a little cutscene or the like. Now I need to do the Hearts & Minds mission on my Operative, who killed him, I gotta see how that cutscene goes, haha. EDIT: I look at Koth's entry in my C&C window and get this-- the line about his having gone into exile is GONE. It still shows him as having left the Alliance and taken the Gravestone, but the line about his going into exile is gone! Is that the way it's supposed to have happened?
  21. Almost all my characters use different "main" companions. DS Guardian: Mostly ZO-0m, sometimes Shae, sometimes Doc LS Sentinel: Rusk, T7, Lana LS Sage: Iresso, Nadia, sometimes T7 or Lana LS Shadow: still doing class stories but will probably focus on Nadia and (non-canon) Tharan or Zenith LS Commando: Yuun, Theron, Aric Neutral Vanguard: Shae (to be different), Elara DS Scoundrel: Original smuggler companions plus Talos Drellik and Senya LS Gunslinger: Original smuggler companions DS Juggernaut: Lana, Vette, Pierce LS Marauder: Vette, Pierce DS Assassin: Andronikos, Ashara, Talos LS Sorcerer: Not fully committed yet LS Powertech: Mako, Gault, Blizz, sometimes Torian LS Mercenary: Torian, Gault, Blizz, Koth LS Sniper: Senya, Deadeye Leyta, Choza Rabaat, sometimes Kaliyo DS Operative: Mostly Kaliyo but not entirely committed yet
  22. Not implausible, though it depends on how players would react. By the same token, though-- Tanno Vik was written out of the story because the voice actor for him, David Anthony Pizzuto, passed away. But given what happened on Asylum during KOTFE, replacing Laura Bailey would also make it plausible for another actor to step into the role of Tanno Vik; the change in his voice chalked up to severe injuries sustained in the battle for Asylum, requiring the use of a voice modulator to speak. I'm not entirely sure Bioware wants to go down that road. Player fans of both Laura Bailey and David Anthony Pizzuto might resent new voice actors for the characters.
  23. All the screaming over one companion. I can just imagine an entire ten thousand or more people screaming, "UNSUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" at the top of their lungs if Kira doesn't return. I have nothing against Kira, but she's not the ONLY one still missing. Tharan Cedrax, Zenith? Zenith in particular has got to figure heavily into Onslaught, given his "Only good Imp is a dead imp" mentality. Zenith might be the kind of companion who would become available to any Republic-aligned character, and if he finds out they're a saboteur secretly working for the Empire, he ditches them on the spot-- even the Consular. And Tharan's ongoing "holo-romance" with Holiday was very entertaining. Holiday was the reason why Tharan could not be romanced by female Consulars. Finally, regarding the voice actress behind Kira... Laura Bailey also voices Jaina Proudmoore, practically a central and lead-role NPC in the latest expansion for WoW. If Blizzard offers Ms. Bailey a work package like THAT, worth x amount of money, and Bioware offers her maybe ten minutes worth of dialogue options, the character only having a scant few moments of leading on-stage screen time, which pays y-amount-less than x amount of money, which do you think she's going to choose? I get the impression Ms. Bailey is in no hurry to work on Kira again.
  24. After finding the missing supplies at Draay outpost, I found the deserting convoy escort and picked the light side option to tell the commander at Morne outpost that they had died. The commander thanked me... and the mission ended with no other planetary story mission anywhere. The entire planetary storyline just ended with a "Thank you for letting us know about the deaths of good soldiers" (yes, a lie, but that was the light side option and I chose to play that toon as LS). Does anyone have any clues as to what's wrong? Is there a mandatory "side mission" to complete the planetary series? I'd like to find out before I leave Taris for Nar Shaddaa.
  25. Starting Jedi Under Siege returns characters I banished from my Alliance, to my Alliance-- they even appear in the war room (if applicable) Examples: Aric Jorgan for my Scoundrel (I banished him on that toon) and Koth Vortena on my Juggernaut and Assassin (both let him live after getting back the Gravestone, and he went into exile) Their entries in my Contacts window even still shows them as having been exiled from the Alliance, but both characters can be summoned, sent on crafting missions, and Koth appears in my juggernaut's and my assassin's war rooms on Odessen. Starting Jedi Under Siege also created "Unavailable companion" copy entries for my sniper-- 2V-R8, Vector Hyllus and Doctor Lokin. Previous patch notes specifically said this was fixed (and on other characters that had already started JUS by then, it even was). This is not an urgent matter, but it is annoying, especially since BW said it had been taken care of.
