  1. I get the feeling that a lot of folks who are sore about attitudes in PVP have never played a competitive sport. .

My buddies and I don't let each other forget about missed free throws, penalty kicks, crucial strike outs and **** like that from over 10+ years ago to this day. Maybe some of these people missed out developing or learning to deal with friendly competitive attitude that playing sports bring out. This thread is getting deep.

My point is - until people stop acting like such morons, I will gear my lowbies to the teeth, and group with people if I want to group with them because I can't trust anyone on my team to do anything right, therefore either I or the people I am grouped with may have to do everything. I actually like solo queueing, as well as queueing with my guild - but when I queue solo I am invariably faced with such a slew of suck that it makes me want to pull out my hair and scream.

This really hits the nail on the head, people do premades because the general population cant be trusted. 4 is usually enough to carry terrible people and affect change in the outcome of a wz.

  3. This is a really disgusting point of view.

I don't really see how, there are more premades in 50's than there are in lowbies. If people don't like to face them in lowbies they sure as sh it aren't going to have a good time in 50's, ergo if you're not having a good time doing something stop doing it.

  4. d'awww :(

Seriously though, I currently do NOT have enough participants to actually put this tourney on. I'm not sure what's stopping people from signing up but let me remind you all, there are cash prizes for 1st-7th place.

Even the top PVP guilds have only a single entry so far (and some have none). What happened, we take away your perfect-comp teams of 3, 5, or 8 and suddenly everyone is too scared to compete? Ebon Hawk, I am disappoint.

Thanks to those who have signed up so far... we will still be taking entries all week :)

this starts after the playoffs that day right? Also i'll donate 1m to the total prize pool so hopefully more people will sign up.

  5. Nadir, can you make it so that people can only wear recruit gear/PvE equivalent tier gear, this will make this tourney more about the skill, rather than the gear.

Sorry if this isn't the place for this post :(

Also: I will participate if I have the time

-Moryy, level 50 Gunslinger, Rubat Crystal HERO!

    RIP Murdertrain

theres 3 pages of discussion of rules and suggestions in the link provided. Read before posting.

  6. There's just not a large enough player pool on to make things competitive. If they ever go cross server double 4mans can go against each other and that will leave people queuing solo or in smaller groups to face each other and hopefully it would be competitive. When there are only a handful of people in queue its going to be tough to get decent match making to keep people from getting rolled by premades.
  7. Some of you 'hardcore' pvp guilds already have turned off much of the 50 crowd from pvp already, why do so in sub 50 as well? If you ever want to see folks get more into pvp, I'd suggest not frustrating the crap out of new players trying to get into it by putting a stacked premade group in sub-50. They're annoying in the main bracket, but understandable. It's just lame in sub 50...

Cross server queues can't come fast enough.

The premades are doing the lowbies a favor in letting them know what to expect in the 50's bracket. They should use their time in lowbies as a barometer for how they need to play to be competitive at 50 if they so choose. They can get opt to get better on an individual scale, form their own premade (preferred), or wash out. It's the Darwinian way. You can't stop science!

  8. Well I guess Roi aptly named his toon then, since he's the master ninja. I'm surprised at how tolerant people are about rotten s.o.b's like Roi.

Well, I warned you all. So once this guy rips you off....MWAHAHAHA.

And because nobody cares....you think Roi was bad? Just wait til I group with ya....fricken' WoW f2pers...

Maybe he did need all that gear, I don't know his situation. Just because you needed it and lost the roll doesn't mean he also didn't need it.

  9. I thought this thread would be about Return On Investment and how screwed up the GTN is lol.

Disappointment indeed, my ebida last quarter has been terrible. I thought this guy was going to offer a solution to bail me out.

  10. I'll be boycotting your reddit until you decide to stop sabotaging our warzones. In my opinion someone like you shouldn't be representing our community ;) Ebon Hawk has RPers, PvEers, PvPers, and everything in between. You have no right to intentionally grief one group of players.

    wise words

  11. Since free to play came around the hacks are getting to be more and more used... When will Bioware start taking this more seriously? Weren't they bragging before this game came out that they had a fool proof system in place to keep this crap out?

Bioware doesn't care if someone is speed hacking as long as their sub is paid up. They have shareholders to answer too, if you think otherwise you're in for disappointment.

  12. How does everyone in this thread not know how ****** hero engine is. There are no magical lag switches or invisible walls people can cast. The most common hacks for this game were speed, no energy casting, and faster gcd/casting, most of which are under control and detected now. Everything else is related to server lag and bugs in the game.
  13. Invisible walls are due to lag, the game server doesn't know where you are. You can /stuck to die which resolves the problem faster than waiting it out. Disappearing into the ground is a similar lag related thing, when a "leaper" jumps it appears as if they fell through the ground only to pop up further down the map where their target was when they initiated the leap(not imperative that person is still there when the leaper arrives) commonly seen in huttball. Sometimes depending on the persons spec if the have a root on leap it may cause the person to rubber band back to the spot they were at when they were leapt too.

    tl:dr hero engine

  14. This looks pretty cool but without overlay it would be largely useless, and to a degree even with overlay. If someone is going to tab out of game they would probably upload to http://www.torparse.com/ which has a really amazing interface. Secondly this game doesn't lend it self to needing this type of tool. Fights aren't tuned tightly enough in SWTOR compared to WoW. There is a broad range of dps you can bring to endgame and still win. This would be valuable for entry level guilds weeding out players who are under performing but those aren't generally the types willing to run addons from my experience, no one likes empirical evidence of their suckage. For most guilds doing progression they can gauge that by if they are hitting enrage timers or not. Until you get overlay working its just not as robust as torparse.
  15. In my opinion, there's only so much breakdown of "firsts" you can do before it becomes really redundant and the achievement of a "first" kill becomes mundane. I think that the "first" listing should apply only to Hardmodes and Nightmare modes before the first round of nerfs are issued. Also due to our the small percentage of our server that competes in upper end PvE I think the 16man/8man realm first division is a little redundant. We don't have a truly competitive 16man race on our server where there are multiple guilds running that comp during progression. Any server first 16man is likely to be a 16man put together by a guild who's already cleared it (many times) on 8man.

Just my thoughts about how far in depth the rank order should be taken.

Not to mention there is no gear/rare drop incentive to do 16man.

  16. Hmmm lets see spend some money once and awhile to save some credits i earned farming OR go to a gold farmer and buy credits? I'll go with supporting the game and not some Asian Hacker.

Also, People complain about spending a few dollars here or there in WoW you spend $25 for a *********** mount. The same mount with a shiny skin.

*** are you rambling on about
