  1. Is there something in the Jedi Code against pants? I mean, I'm supposed to be out in the universe fighting battles with a lightsaber and force magic. I just want a good pair of pants, a jacket, and a good looking hat. I don't want to look like I'm some kind of parade float freak at carnival.

    Sage/Sorc Exploit

Well, Starguardian I'm going to assume that you're misunderstanding things again. If you watch the video (by Faction who was kind enough to come on an contribute) you'll see that he is a dps sage. Balance tree, I believe. I am a healer, and I often have to heal myself, but since I can't damage myself, I have to wait until someone else is kind enough to come in and beat on me for a while. Unlike the sage/sorcs out there, I don't have any ability that lets me sit back on a quiet node and hurt myself so that I can heal myself and earn medals for DOING NOTHING. Thank you for your thoughts, Starguardian, and I hope you'll go back and read more carefully so you can better understand what I've said.

I'm not sure if you're purposely misunderstanding the situation, or not. I'll assume that you're genuinely confused and try to answer you. I'm not saying that using noble sacrifice/consumption and then healing yourself is an exploit. I am saying that there are ways that people use the mechanic to gain an advantage for which there isn't an equivalent across other classes. As a commando, for example, I don't have any way of doing this. Thus it is a mechanic that is being exploited. As I've said previously, I don't know what the fix is, but I'm not a game developer.

    Sage/Sorc Exploit

I'm glad you came to this thread, Faction. Thanks for stopping by. It's not just about using one spell and then another, and no matter how clever and snarky you try to be, I'm pretty sure you're intelligent enough to realize that. I'm not saying people should be banned. I haven't said that anywhere. I'm just trying to point out an issue in the hopes that by drawing attention to it, Bioware will fix it. This mistake is on Bioware. I'm glad you were smart enough to figure out how to take advantage of it, but I hope they figure out a way to stop it. In the meantime, good luck to you. I like your videos, by the way.

I would argue that it's not really that easy to take off all your gear and put it all back on in the middle of a warzone. At least not as easy as what I pointed out initially. Anyway, that's an issue as well. Just because I point out one way to do something and others come along and say, "where there are also these other loopholes" doesn't invalidate my original point. They're both exploits. They should both be fixed. How? I don't know. I'm not a game designer. I'm sure the devs will figure something out once they become aware of it.

    Sage/Sorc Exploit

People playing poorly doesn't exploit game mechanics. I'd be the first person to say that the medal system needs some tuning. The difference between a person who is just out for kills and damage, is that they aren't using a loophole in the game mechanics to get their medals. Anyone can go out and try to kill people while ignoring the objectives. Not everyone can hurt themselves in order to heal themselves.

I'm enjoying this game. I'm just trying to point out something that isn't fair. It's an exploit of game mechanics. As I said in my OP, it's a small issue, but it's still an issue. You are just trying to troll. Either that or you're not entirely sure what whining really is. What you're doing is actually closer to whining that what I am doing.

    Sage/Sorc Exploit

Okay. Well, that is also an issue. I would point out that it's easier to get the 75k medal by damaging yourself with noble sacrifice/consumption and then healing yourself.

    Sage/Sorc Exploit

As I said in my OP, this is a small exploit, but it's still an exploit. Just because you believe there are other problems, doesn't mean that we should ignore them until the one you think has the highest priority is fixed. What you're talking about is a balance issue, not an exploit.

    Sage/Sorc Exploit

This video is a guide to exactly how to do it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATookAQWT0M&feature=g-u&context=G255f3e8FUAAAAAAANAA He is clearly (because he says he's doing it) just spamming noble sacrifice in order to get the 75k healing medal. Medals are intended as rewards for actions that contribute towards the warzones. This is an action that does nothing but benefit the sages/sorcs that are able to do this. Can a commando shoot himself and heal? Can a tank guard him/herself? Being given credit for healing yourself when other players damage you is different from damaging yourself in order to get the healing medals.

I'm not sure, but damaging yourself in order to heal yourself for the medals seems to me like exploiting the game mechanics to gain an advantage unavailable to other players.

    Sage/Sorc Exploit

Anyone seen sages and sorcs spamming noble sacrifice/consumption just to heal themselves in order to get the 75k healing medal and the 2.5k (and 5k with the rakata biochem)? Seems like an exploit to get a couple more medals. Not a huge one, but an exploit nonetheless since it's not something every class can do. Unless, of course, I can start shooting myself in the foot and healing up.
  13. If you're a hybrid and off healing, then you can get those other dps medals, but as a commando in the combat medic tree I don't have the ammo to spare to dps. Not to mention the time. If I'm using GCD's to dps, that means I'm not healing, which is my primary job in a fight. Sure, if there's an overwhelming advantage in my teams favor in a specific fight, I'll help out on dps. And I use my stuns to peel and help out, but I put all those points in the healing tree to maximize healing, not my damage skills. If I'm chasing medals, I'm not really playing the objective and helping my team most efficiently.
  14. There are plenty of ways to get around that. The same thing happens to me every day, but I'm no worse for wear. Jaxo would be, by far, the best companion. She has a great personality, and the woman who does her voice acting is great. I vote Jaxo instead of the droid or the gand.
  15. I believe he's saying that the opposing team is standing on top of their spawn ledge and by pulling him up there, he can't enter the endzone and score, and at the same time being pulled onto that ledge kills you instantly. It's similar to the opposing team camping your own spawning area by opposing players throwing the ball to those who are spawning, which also kills them instantly (and gives the ball right back).
  16. This is a public service announcement: Please remember to use your MVP votes at the end of a match and use them wisely. If you have a good healer, think about voting for him or her. Those 250k damage numbers might not be there if it weren't for the guy behind you. If you want to vote objectives or max damage, that's fine, but if you want those green numbers to keep coming, give a little love to the person who is giving them to you. Aslo - more medals for healing, please. I want to be unbeatable, immortal, invincible too. But in a friendly, non-violent sort of way.
  17. This is a pointless response and makes no sense. I enjoy PvP, but dislike the imbalance caused by the temporary inclusion of lvl 50's in warzones. I am trying to offer a reasonable solution and I would like to see what other reasonable people think, or get some feedback from those who understand programming to see if this kind of solution is even possible. Your response implies that I'm crying about something which isn't the case at all. I'm addressing a recognized issue. You're trying to incite people for no good reason.

    PVP Gear

Nope. If I were to guess, I'd say this is a design decision to encourage (some might say force) you to do quests and FP's to get gear.
  19. I'm not suggesting that level 50's should wait. I understand that there will still be an imbalance because of talents and abilities. I'm suggesting that there might be a way to mitigate the biggest source of imbalance.
  20. The full auto vs the BH equivalent isn't an animation issue, but a bug I believe. When I cast full auto the animation definitely seems awkward and out of sync with the cast bar and the damage indicators, so it seems like a bug. Mortar volley is definitely slower and it often makes a huge difference. BH animation fires as they're rising into the air, whereas troopers have to lean back first before the first shot goes off. That's the specific difference. If death from above and mortar volley had the same (or no) delay then the advantage might go to the trooper because death from above is much more obvious than the trooper's lean back. I know there are two target reticules to indicate who is firing, but in the thick of things it's often easier to see a guy rising 10 feet into the air on a rocket pack than a guy leaning back and firing his gun. The two animations offer different flavors, but even that small flavor can make a difference if you're trying to quickly spot who to interrupt.
  21. The way the questing areas are designed there isn't very much (if any) overlap, so there really isn't any way to just run into another player. I guess lore wise it's because we're supposed to be in a cold war? Although I'm not sure cold war means the same thing in the Star Wars galaxy as it does in ours.
  22. Maybe there are problems with the matchmaking system, but that seems like more of a long term issue. Level 50's mixed in with everyone else is a short term problem because they're going to be sectioned off at some point in the not too distant future (hopefully). Any solution to how things stand now would have to be quick and temporary.
  23. Until the warzones are level 50 vs. 50 when everyone has expertise, these videos mean nothing. Yes I know he/she kills some level 50's and it looks like he/she is a good player, but these videos of level 50's running around killing people with ease are pointless when you essentially have a huge advantage over most of the players in the warzone. Sure, right now giant crits are great, and can kill a level 30 in seconds, but what will that video be like when the target is a level 50 guardian/juggernaut with equal expertise?
  24. We all know that level 50's will eventually be getting their own bracket, which is good, but until then a level 50 with + expertise gear is vastly overpowered and can really ruin the competitiveness of a warzone. Is it possible to somehow disable expertise in warzones until new brackets are created? That would go a long way towards mitigating the differences. Yes, they would still have more talents and abilities than lowbies, but it's the expertise that is the biggest problem.
