  1. As far as I know, trash talk and pvp go together like peas and carrots. However, a guy in my guild got a 3 day ban for what the most of us would consider trash talk. He had been banned prior for something that was clearly vulgar and over the top. But for all intents and purposes, he has drastically toned down his language, but still managed to pull a suspension without using any vulgarity at all. So my questions are : What guidelines should we be following in order to stay on the safe side of the ban fence while still being allowed some amount of trash talk? If someone feels that they are being reported, not for the claimed 'vulgarity' or 'harassment', but because someone is literally out to get us, what recourse do we have? In my personal opinion, /ignore and vulgarity filters should be used by those that can't handle someone's language and thus it falls to them to decide what they can handle. Versus having someone constantly watching what they say and to whom they say it. Some of us are grown ups, and some of us can handle grown up smack talk. But others use the harassment form for the sole reason of trying to get someone banned, and not because their language was particularly offensive.
  2. Yeah I saw that but it's not clear what 'endgame gear' includes. They could just mean Ops gear.
  3. It would be nice if there was at least a route to showing off your pvp gear. It sounds like Op gear will be able to be learned, but they haven't clearly stated whether pvp gear can be RE'd for schematics.
  4. I would like to see the usefulness of healers in warzones be more limited. I think that the majority of healers do so in order to help their team win and not because they enjoy it more than other roles. One suggestion as to how this could be mitigated is to introduce anti-healing debuffs(such as WoW's Mortal Strike which reduced healing received) I would also like to see the gear appearance design be balanced. I've seen the new models for 1.2 and it's like you guys don't want to even pretend like you're being fair.
  5. LoL. On 8 man it's just some wimpy attack we just always ignored and healed through. We didn't know we needed a 2nd tank to build threat. Thanks for the advice.
  6. We ran a 16 man EV run (we normally just do 8) and XRR-3 was doing some 18k+ hits to random players without any warning. What's causing this and how do we prevent it? It seems like it's happening when he knocks back the tank. We tried having a 2nd tank taunt immediately, but it didn't make a difference.
  7. The cobwebs near the ceiling need to come down. The Empire would never tolerate such filth.
  8. EDIT : Huge wall of flame removed due to the correction made.
  9. Don't cap and have the longest Alderaan match ever. WHOOOOO.
  10. They said something about being able to modify existing gear to add an augment slot. The explanation was fairly vague, but it makes sense to do this. There would be no point in having Rated War Hero gear being colored by your rating if it the gear wasn't viable for warzones. So I imagine it will be something like enchantment, where you can have the crafter modify existing gear.
  11. I didn't hear anything about selecting which warzone to queue for.
  12. Following is the information gathered so far. Please submit additional info (NO RUMORS!!!) and make corrections. Trailer with supposed video of new warzone : New Warzone : Novare Coast New PvP Gear Tier with more stat itemization Rated Warzone Commendations Seasonal Rankings PvP Tab :http://i42.tinypic.com/jzf708.png Player Kills Badges Earned MVP Votes Q Solo Ranked, Q Party Ranked Wins (no losses?) Highest Earned (?) Crit Crafted Orange Gear superior to PvP obtained gear, BUT some new mechanic also in play. Expertise DR will be realigned to correctly align the new PvP and PvE tiers. Rated parties up to 8 man. Rating translates to gear COLOR choice Ranked gear purchasing is NOT correlated to rating, but through direct purchase with tokens Rated warzone tokens awarded according to warzone performance. Crafting mechanism to modify existing gear to add an augment slot - I think this is what he said. FUTURE (not 1.2) Ilum to return to objective-based with objective-lock. World PvP kills will reward valor and mercenary commendations Guild v Guild Ranked Warzone challenges LEGACY BUFFS TO PVP Completing a class will unlock combined buff abilities, i.e. Trooper + Smuggler buff from a single player. Maxing companion affection and story arcs result in stat boost
  13. Target marking is purely UI. All it does is makes it easier to say 'attack joe' instead of 'attack party time joe schmoe' You can have the marker removed when I get options to remove character titles and legacy names.
  14. I am a Republic player on a PvP server with about a 2.5:1 Imperial faction imbalance. However for our server, Ilum is getting more and more fun every day. And I know it's not just me. Almost every day I hear from random people that some battle we were just in was the most fun they've ever had on Ilum. We've also experienced an odd shift in the number of Republic players on Ilum. A few weeks ago, the zone would max out around 25 Reps, but that has been gradually increasing. Last week we were running at 35, and this week I saw at one moment 47 Pubs in the zone. This is occurring despite the imbalance, which probably means that people are having fun and not just leaving as soon as they complete their daily. So disbelievers, here's my rant to you : BW ain't gonna magically fix Ilum. No matter what they do, they're not gonna somehow make it easier for one faction in order for the balance to occur. I haven't even seen any players offer any workable ideas to fix Ilum. That's the reality, so deal with it. Hopefully, if you listen to what I have to say, you can help make your server fun too. So here's the secret ingredient you need to make Ilum fun : Wall of text of my POV on how it happened on our server: Oh and while I'm at it, props must be given to the BW team that designed the terrain on Ilum. We absolutely love it. There just seems to be an infinite number of ways to use the terrain, from high ground, to caves, to hidey-holes, to cliffs. So I send you my thanks for Ilum, no matter what anyone else says.
  15. Move along folks. Nothing to see here. Move along. Move along.
  16. For those of us at work still, *** are you talking about?
  17. It would help if you would post a link to this new info.
  18. This still works against faction imbalance. You've given 2 ways to obtain comms, 1 through capturing the base, and the other by getting kills. You've stated that you can't capture a base without holding the other nodes. So if Faction A goes for a base and Faction B goes for a node, then Faction A has to go destroy Faction B. If Faction B defends, then it ends up being the same kill trading. They stand at the entrance to the base and fish each other endlessly. Only now with BM bags purchasable, the route to full BM gear is directly related to how fast you trade.
  19. We had a Sage get 890K healing on a VS.
  20. This game is being ruined by exploiters and BW's unwillingness to carry a big stick. It's bad enough that we have to suffer through all these bugs while paying $15 a month. But to also suffer through exploiters who are emboldened by the absence of police is too much. All BW needs to do is to ban a few players and make a show of it so that the remaining exploiters have to worry about being banned. This would greatly improve game-play, and give those that are suffering from exploiters a means to rectify the problem through reporting.
  21. Agreed. The more players see Devs not reigning in the exploits, the more they will do it on the idea of balancing the game out for themselves. "Imps do it all the time so why shouldn't we?" My guild had about an hour of warzones where the Imps had 12+ players the other night. It's too easy to take the easy route and use the exploit to even the playing field. Especially when it appears that Devs aren't doing anything about it. My guild didn't resort to it, but it was tempting for some. However, Devs need to clearly state what is a bannable offense. Right now I would say there is a debate on the Pure Shockfrozen water. It's obviously dev oversight, but it's game mechanic. Is it an exploit? Also players must be notified in game about bannable activities. Not everyone reads these forums.
  22. Most of the time I use Armor piercing. I switch to Plasma for situational needs. Doing it in combat isn't that hard given it's only 1.5 seconds, but you have to make sure it sticks. If I run into a 1v1 melee on Ilum, I will CC and switch to plasma in order to kite them.
  23. Demo round on a 15 second cooldown hardly improves your mobility. Degauss is nice too, and falls under the category 'tweaking this spec'. In regards to quick thinking, I used to believe as you do and used those points for more crit. However after getting it, I've found it immensely useful. Again, that works to my play-style. But basically it's great if you LOS your opponent to heal up, or to help out your healer if he's getting pounded. I don't understand your idea about weapons calibrations. I have 0 Alacrity and 4% times 0 is 0. I'll take 3% endurance any day.
  24. Yes I'm counting stockstrike every 9 seconds and Concussion Charge every 15. It's very useful to put people in fire in Huttball. It's also great to combo with Concussion Charge to really throw someone far (Ilum cliffs FTW). Plus since we don't get an interrupt...this is my interrupt.
