  1. Vette already has new dialgoue with a Sith Warrior Outlander. That's why she's credited, not because she's (necessarily) coming back soon. Same with Kira, Iresso, Corso, Jorgan, Andronikos, Kaliyo, and Mako, which I believe covers all the ones who are credited but MIA.
  2. I see four options: • For non-Warriors, her history is determined for the character. It could be the same for everyone, or determined by some aspect of the character (e.g., alignment, affiliation, some specific other choice made). • Work in some way for the player to determine her history; for instance, the mission to recruit her sends the Outlander to one of two locations, and Light Jaesa's at one, Dark Jaesa at the other. • Be vague about her history and manage to have both Light and Dark Jaesa end up the same after five years. Possibly allow the player to push her one way or the other. • She doesn't come back at all. (Technically, this is a specific version of #3.) I wouldn't read too much into the credits. Only the characters who've appeared so far (including the one final conversation with a companion near the end of Act I) are listed. Back when the companion locator terminal was missing companions who might return in the near future, Rusk was missing from the Knight's, but Ron Yuan isn't credited.
  3. My setup: 65 Jedi Sentinel (Combat), 208 augmented 216-220 comm gear (crafted augmented 216 implants/ear, augmented 186 relics) with influence rank 37-38 (gained level after Star Fortress bonus) Kira Carsen (set as healer). Content attempted: Tython, Croissant, and Taris heroics, Heroic Star Fortress (Alderaan), Preemptive Strike [Oricon heroic], Long Shots [section X heroic], Search and Rescue [Tatooine heroic]. Observations: Tython/Croissant/Taris heroics: Easy. I tried to only use Force Leap and Strike on Tython, but occasionally hit Blade Rush. Search and Rescue [Tatooine heroic]: I came in the suicidal northern way rather than going around and coming from the east. The big groups were hard to keep on me instead of Kira, and I could have wiped if I were a little less on the ball. Inside the compound was slightly more difficult than it had been, but still easy enough. Preemptive Strike [Oricon heroic]: Not significantly harder than it was pre-nerf. Bosses that gave me trouble pre-4.0 (the ones with Terminate) are still easy. Stun-happy bosses still annoying. Long Shots [section X heroic]: Okay, I was feeling this one. It's still set as a Heroic 4, and the elite enemies love to use Force Storm, creating lots of stupid for Kira to stand in. We wiped against the first group before I realized I needed to be more careful. Progress through the rest of the mission was slow. The boss is now considerably more difficult to solo. Before it was a matter of patience/riding out his Siphoned healing and wearing him down, but now the companion can't keep up with the damage he's dealing, so letting him Force Siphon healing away too often means he's going to outlast you. And companions don't realize healing someone with the Force Siphon debuff is bad. I don't believe this is impossible, just more trouble than I was willing to go through for a bonus mission. Like I said, though, LS is still H4, so it probably should be tough to solo with a companion. I don't understand why it's H4 when every other daily area heroic is H2, but that's what it is. Heroic Star Fortress: Got all the buffs and temp powers. Standard/strong enemies still easy. Elite Knights of Zakuul require attention. First Paladin and the Praetorian mid-boss were easy enough. The second Preatorian ripped through my defenses, including defensive abilities, faster than Kira could keep up; I won, but it was tense. Chasing the Exarch around destroying the stabilizers required absolute attention, but was doable. Boss almost anticlimactic; Kira took her out while I was chasing down the ghost adds. I can't imagine trying it without the buffs/temp powers, and this isn't something I'll do on a regular basis, but I did it. Observations and opinions: Expereince prior to patch led me to believe nerf to companion power inevitable, necessary. Overall reduction in companion power larger than expected, very noticeable. Will continue to play, observe, report.
  4. There are 7 for the Republic on Tatooine: Down the Hole, Search and Rescue, Reap the Whirlwind, Pirate Bullies, Breaking the Code, A Jawa's Concern, and The Long Goodbye. S&R doesn't show up on the terminal, but is still a heroic and required for the achievement. Alderaan had two Republic heroics removed in 4.0; Red Handed is no longer heroic, and I couldn't find Looted Secrets at all.
  5. My first character, a female Twi'lek sentinel, is still my main and the only character I've taken through Fallen Empire so far. Early next week I should have nothing left to do in FE (until they add more, obviously) aside from gifting companions. If I'd chosen her advanced class the way I chose everyone else's, she'd be a guardian, but I'm too attached to reroll (or respec, should that ever become an option).
  6. I have no problem with PVP getting rewards. But if 4X is intended as a PVP reward, it's a spectacularly poorly-conceived one. The PVE prerequisites for the quest (9 chapters of Fallen Empire, plus getting Yuun) took me twice as long as the actual PVP portion. (Granted, this is counting cutscenes, and I got enough wins that I only had to do 12 matches.) And it doesn't require competence at PVP, or even understanding of PVP. It barely requires effort; the "queue, zone in, move around enough not to get autokicked" strategy is perfectly effective. It's not a nice thing to do, and won't win many friends, but it'll get through the quest. (For the record, I didn't do that. I don't think I was much help to my teams and I really don't care, but at least I was always out trying to fight.) More likely he's intended as an incentive to get PVE players to try PVP, but the way it's conceived seems more likely, in my opinion, to generate resentment than interest.
  7. Looking at the list that qualifies, it looks like the ones that are missing (aside from KDY) have a (new to 4.0) solo mode. So, at a guess, the original intent was for flashpoints to have either a solo mode or tactical mode (this is what I remember from the newspost announcing flashpoint changes for 4.0), and when it was decided to make tactical modes for the solo ones as well, they forgot to add them into the weekly.
  8. 4X is one of my five favorite companions, but my trooper's a tank so he's redundant. (Or he was, prior to 4.0.) I really want him on my main/knight, but I've only queued for warzones twice, and I felt so bad doing that that I dequeued before they popped. I'm still holding out hope that the PVP requirement will be removed. (Pierce, I was halfway through Taris before I realized he'd be a companion, and my reaction was approximately, "Seriously? Him? That's a real character?" But he approved of making fun of Baras and Quinn, so he's not all bad.)
  9. That's not it. It's still a Heroic (although now a H2; I think it was H4 before). You can get it from the guy in person, but not from the terminal.
  10. The Republic Tatooine mission [HEROIC 2+] Search and Rescue is missing from the heroic mission terminal. It's been modified all the other was (reduced to H2, heroic transport, etc.) but isn't listed.
  11. You can, but you need to change zones after getting them back before summoning them. Or at least, that's how it was with my Knight and Kira. And as far as I can tell, the only content I couldn't take Kira into is future story chapters. I've done Star Fortress with her.
  12. The terminal says that certain companions who will return in the near future may be missing from the list. I don't know when the "near future" is; I would guess no later than the launch of new story chapters whenever that is (January?). I think someone's missing from the Jedi Knight list. I don't know who; I have T7 and HK and Treek (and C2, I guess), and got Kira back, and Doc and Scourge were listed. Most classes have five companions, though...
  13. Well, you can turn them into Data Crystals, although the exchange rate's pretty bad. Lord knows that's what I'm going to do. I haven't been able to bring myself to queue for warzones yet, but if 4.1 comes round with no indication a non-warzone option is coming, well... sorry to my teammates.
  14. Yeah, I'll admit I only checked it on my characters, who are all in the upper level brackets now. Checking it out, looks like you'd need to take some out of the quality modifier and add a level modifier as well.
  15. Item Rating = Item Level * 2 + Quality Modifier Quality modifier is 6 for greens, 16 for blues, and 24 for purples. Item Level is the what the old tooltip displayed, not the level required to equip.
  16. Had it not been for HK-51, I would have deleted my Inquisitor after Dromund Kaas. The thought of having that thing follow me around for three more planets was intolerable. None of Qyzen, Torian, or Vector is interesting or likable enough to overcome my bias against their respective people. Favorites: Kira and T7, Mako, Vette, and 4X.
  17. I have a similiar story. I get a queue pop, go to Czerka Labs, no UI. I run along for a while, and eventually log out to see if that'll fix it. It does, but I'm back in Section X, and I've got a lockout (so I assume logging out quits your team for you and I wasn't votekicked). I queue again once I'm able, and it pops again: Meltdown, and as it turns out, it's two of the people from the previous group, plus the person who replaced me after I quit. I apologized for the odd situation, everyone laughed, and we had a good run.
  18. Characters above level 27 can't do the henchman bounties on Ord Mantell/Nal Hutta. However, all the henchmen are available on other planets, and they can unlock and run the kingpin bounties for those planets.
  19. By rights, I should hate Skadge. I play mostly LS and Skadge... doesn't fit with that. I was forced to take him even more hamfistedly than Gault. I think Houks are a dumb race with stupid character models. Oh, and my hunter's a tank herself, so Skadge is just a big useless lump on my ship. But watching him and my hunter butt heads is fun. I'm not saying if BioWare put an option in to find someone who has a bounty out on him (there's gotta be someone, right?) and collect it I wouldn't do it. But I don't loathe him like some other companions. And he's more interesting than Torian, so, there's that.
  20. "Oh, ****. We didn't resummon companions after that last elevator." Shortly followed by: "Ha, we may actually pull this off!" (FE HM Malgus, two-manning due to disconnections and inability to requeue. I died during the last phase. The other player, a guardian tank, held on long enough to win.)
  21. The NPCs are gone from the fleet, so it's over for now. The patch notes are for the next time around.
  22. Past dates: February 12 - February 26 March 12 - March 26 May 21 - May 28 July 23 - August 6 Based on this I'd expect to see the Gree back sometime in late September/October, but that's pure speculation on my part.
  23. My problem is that my light side Imperials seem to have MPD. I have no idea how I'm going to justify my Agent, who thinks the Sith are nutburgers who are greatest threat to the Empire, rescuing the Dread Masters on Belsavis when her instinct is to get the biggest bomb in the Imperial arsenal and drop it on their heads. But I really don't like playing dark side, so, MPD it is.
  24. Yeah, companions have conversations/quests that are gated by act, so you'll need to complete Act 2 before you can unlock bonuses. Also, at least one companion (Kira) has a quest that requires finishing the full class story.
