  1. The game is currently lagging beyond belief. All since yesterday's update. I have to hit abilities sometimes two times before executing. Mobs just stand there for seconds, doing nothing while I attack them, before they finally react. Suddenly I lose half my health (like the server/client is just suddenly catching up). Passing talking NPCs, not hearing them talk until I am far away and then I suddenly hear their conversation. Been playing almost non-stop for last two weeks without any of these issues, until yesterday's update.
  2. The whole level sync is just broken beyond belief! I am at Balmora since yesterday. Arrived at level 38 and got synced down to level 37. Currently level 40, still synced to 37 and my stats keep reducing further and further with each level up. Makes no sense whatsoever! I am still wearing the same gear and still synced to the same level 37, yet my stats keep going incrementally down by each gained level. For example my Attack stat is being reduced by roughly 30 points with each level up so far, while my Defense and Support stat is going slightly up.
  3. Stats are also messed up when swapping loadouts. Have to unslot and reslot main hand weapon to show correct stats again.
  4. Well if these rookie devs keep messing with the code they know nothing about, then there won't be many left playing soon. All these changes that mess things up, making things worse with every patch. Eventually people will have enough and give up. No one was asking for this and then whole leveling experience getting messed up with these stupid changes/overhauls that make no sense whatsoever. /Facepalm
  5. That's what you get when you fired / chased the veteran devs away and now have a couple rookie devs messing with 10 year old code they know nothing about. It's like they want this game to die so they can just shut it down, so EA can move on or something. /shrug
  6. People keep bringing this up. Ubisoft's SW game will be The Division in Space. A looter shooter. Completely different kind of game. I am looking forward to it, but SWTOR's strength is the story. It's why I keep coming back and play through the game from level 1. With Ubisoft's upcoming SW game, we will have to wait and see if they can get it right, as the story in Division 2 was very poor and boring as heck, compared to Division 1. Not to mention the scale (just one planet with small world area or multi planet zones for one).
  7. You assume too much! You assume everyone is interested in the gear grind at max level. I for one, I am too old for that crap and no longer interested in wasting my time raising some pixel values on my screen. I just enjoy the story and that's it. So why can't I enjoy it with a bit OP companions that take the tedium away and make it more fun for me? /shrug You don't even use your companions when you run endgame group content anyway! /FACEPALM
  8. LOL yeah! My Jedi Guardian in tank spec and tank gear was out DPS'ing my companions in 4.0.2 by almostr 50% Since they only increased DPS by 15% in this patch, it pretty much means companion DPS is still really low and way below true DPS classes. Bit disappointing really. More importantly will be though, if they actually fixed the Rank system and that Rank 50 companions are actually noticeable better than a Rank 10, to justify the insane cost and effort! Also, did they finally fix the exploit with the main hand weapon?`
  9. There are much better ways to put time sinks in place! Like putting ACTUAL content in the game! Giving trash mobs more HP, have these stupid fights last longer and force people to wait (aka heal up) between every trash fight, is TERRIBLE game design! That is what games like WoW and EQ2 got right back then when they launched. They had plenty of grind! Plenty of challenge! But instead of putting down time - time sinks between fights, they just overloaded you ( at least WoW ) with sheer amount of content and slow leveling pace. At low level fights took long, even on trash mobs..... but as you leveled up, got more abilities, you also felt more heroic as you slowly but surely could kill trash mobs more quickly. This is what Blizzard always got right in their games..... that perfect balance to avoid tedium! Bioware NEVER got this right in SWTOR! No matter how far you leveled up, trash mobs were still just as hard to kill. That tedium was ALWAYS there. You never felt heroic, it was just grind grind grind, with lots of downtime all the way to the top. That´s why, before Patch 4.0, I never made it beyond Alderaan and quit again out of Boredom. No matter how many times I tried over the years. Patch 4.0 changed that and for the first ever time, I created a brand new character and leveled it all the way up to level 65 and had a total blast all way! /SIGH And NO! It was not because of lack of challenge! As I like a challenge! SW:TOR however, never had any challenge to begin with. It was just tedious and boring.
  10. I never wanted them to reduce missions and increase XP to level. As AGAIN, that was never the problem. I rather kill trash mobs quickly, to get a heroic feel for your character and having to do more missions in return to level up! That is way more fun, than killing HP bullet sponge trash mobs with lots of down time between fights. It´s no challenge, just a terrible way of implementing artificial time sinks. THAT is why people were so happy with Patch 4.0! Fighting felt finally more heroic, as trash mobs died quickly. The tedium of constant downtimes between fights was gone. And seriously, when I was doing the Hutt cartel and Revan expansion content, the companions weren´t that OP anymore, especially not when you got level synced! I also was using mostly green gear! Like any regular player would! The solo boss fights were still a challenge and took long time to finish. Now, if the endgame Heroic content was too easy, due to the complaining people running around in RAID gear.... then Bioware could have just buffed the difficulity in THAT content, instead of doing a sledgehammer nerf across the board on companions!
  11. I think you need some reading comprehension my friend. As I am telling the complete opposite in the sentence you quote! AGAIN! I never felt like the XP was the problem! I never mind doing all the missions before, needed to level up. It was the SHEER TEDIUM and all the downtime between fights that was the problem! Trash mobs just had too much HP and were just a stupid time sink to cover up for the game´s major design flaws.
  12. Both SOE and Blizzard have revealed those numbers years ago in some blog posts. Hence, why Blizzard stopped with 40 man RAID´s and put more focus on 5 and 10 man content afterwards. They still do RAID´s ofcourse, but not as largescale anymore and much shorter run through times. As it doesn´t justify the costs. Same with SOE. They still do RAID content in EQ2, but there is a much stronger focus on Solo and small group content last years, with much shorter run through times. Turbine stopped doing RAIDs altogether with LOTRO years ago. As too few people bothered doing them.
  13. Like I said in another thread: The MAIN problem with the game during leveling has been the sheer amount of trash mobs you had to fight through with every mission step! fighting 20 seconds, meditate health back up 10 seconds, fighting 20 seconds, meditate health back up 10 seconds, etc etc. It was just boring as hell! Hence, why people left in droves over the years and subs kept going down! The stronger companions that came with patch 4.0 fixed that problem overnight! Now you could fight through these hoards of trash mobs more quickly with far less downtime, making the leveling experience more fun! As you could focus on the mission objectives at hand, instead of the constant chore of fighting endlessly through hoards of trash mobs! That is why people were so happy with Patch 4.0! Get it? They finally felt Heroic, slashing through trash mobs like in the movies. You have to understand that the vast majority of players enjoy leveling characters and could care less about the gear grind that comes with RAIDing! It´s like this in every single MMO! The RAID community is incredibly small in each MMO. Only make up like 2-3% of the entire playerbase. So, for the game´s survival sake! If the leveling experience sucks, the game won´t survive. Patch 4.0 finally fixed that! Tons of people came back and were enjoying themselves! Patch 4.0.2 broke all that again! If they want the companions to be less powerfull, then they have to fix the leveling experience! Not just increase XP and make people do less quests to level up! That is NO FIX! Then they need to REDUCE HP drastically on all the trash mobs on planets, to remove the tedium during leveling.
  14. Cooldown on abilities has never been a problem, because you have so many abilities (well can´t speak of healer class). The MAIN problem with the game during leveling has been the sheer amount of trash mobs you had to fight through with every mission step! fighting 20 seconds, meditate health back up 10 seconds, fighting 20 seconds, meditate health back up 10 seconds, etc etc. It was just boring as hell! 15. So you are fine with how companions are now? In the worst state possible? Far worse than they were in 3.0? Not to mention that the Rank system is now completely broken! A rank 50 companion is now hardly better than a rank 10! I seriously wonder what you guys are smoking! No one is denying that companions were a tad OP with 4.0 and needed to be tuned down a LITTLE! Like 10-15% or so. Not to mention that people that were crying GOD MODE! most likely (unaware) exploited the Main hand weapon bug! That is the worst in this whole 4.0.2 fiasco! Any Developer with a clue, would try to fix such blatant exploit first, before starting to nerf stuff into the ground! As you can datamine till you see square! When you have such a blatant exploit in the game, any data you mine is WORTHLESS!! /FACEPALM And that is exactly what happened and resulted in this idiotic 4.0.2 patch!
