  1. Have any of you tried Leatrix Latency Fix or something similar to see if it helps?
  2. Here is the thing. If the west coast servers were located in California like many people are saying, the cost of the servers were likely a lot higher than the cost of the servers in Virginia. California as a rule, the price of a lot of things is on the high end. It would have been better if it was hosted in the midwest somewhere. Less people would have been impacted by this, but still some would have still been impacted. Consider us lucky though. At least we still have more than one server. There are games out there that only have one server.
  3. Eric, You guys really should have let everyone know ahead of time what was going on. I get why, but you are loosing credability every time you decide to do something like this. When you reopen up transfers, please make them 90CC. You owe people that much because if they had the information beforehand, they would have made an informed decision as to which server they want to be on. If you had let everyone know ahead of time, they will still be upset like this but at least you were up front about it.
  4. If it was located in Texas, the ping would not be as high as it currently is for the people on the west coast.
  5. Keith, I don't think this was really a good idea here, but I see both sides of the coin though. You really should have let us all know that this change was going to go in effect before the merge so that people could make the right choice as to which server they want their characters on. I see why though, that you decided to move the west coast servers. Its probably easier to manage both US servers from one location. I live in the midwest, so I live in the central time zone so the ping make little difference to me. It was only 20ms difference between the east and west servers. Though the east coast, I always had slightly better ping. I feel for the people who are farther aways and see a difference though.
  6. Please give us Purple twi'lek skins There should be a dark and light version at least I have been wanting them since forever.
  7. I know this may not be a popular suggestion. Wouldn't it be better if they can do it , that they not allow this in game? This would be reportable like threads here on the forums when it comes to referral links.
  8. Eric, I really think this is BS. This should not have implemented like this in the first place. It should not matter what 4 characters you get to 300 as long as its 4 characters.
  9. I thought you would have over 100 Characters which would be even more % than you stated
  10. There is a reason why I was asking and I was hoping Eric or Keith would answer it. I have gone through multiple server mergers before so I am not new to this. Last time I thought there was something on the character screen that let you know what the origin server was. I keep a spreadsheet of certain details for my character so I was hoping that before I log into each of my characters, I can update the spreadsheet if I have to rename them. There will be some characters, I will be losing the name to myself
  11. I have a question. Some of us have duplicate names across servers. If our characters look alike, will there any way to indicate which server the character came from?
  12. We can never have enough tabs. What would be even more nice though is they add tabs that list all the possible mats you can get in game and say how many you currently have. You will still be able to pull what you need out from that tab. They should also have a tab for legacy gear that would work in a similar way.
  13. I have recently went back to GW2. What I like about them is that you can play free to play and not feel limited especially if you PVP. I also like that all you have to pay for is expansions and you do not have a monthly sub fee. I do a little of everything in there. Everyone is different, but the stories are more challenging. They also have some of the same voice actors that we have in SWTOR. I honestly like the PVP more in GW2. Most of the maps have a similar caping of nodes like SWTOR, but most have added objectives also. I like before we jump in we get to vote on the map we would like to do, but its still random. Even if one person voted on one map, there is still a chance that map will be the one picked as its still random. I have actually seen it happen. There is no difference between unranked and ranked pvp in there other than the rewards. In regards to nodes, people don't guard nodes like they do in SWTOR. Its more about rotating back and forth, but the nodes are usually not to far away. WVW is actually fun. That is a mix of PVE and PVP. In order to be able to do WVW with the guild you are in, you need to be on the same world or linked with the same world. The linking happens every couple months or so I believe so the linked server are not aways the same. WVW matchups are reset every Friday.
  14. The emergency patch was needed. You may not have needed it, but other people did need it. Some people were getting unreadable quests and among other issues. The people who were affected more than likely are the ones whom had a patch.
  15. Eric, The codes should be once per account or just send a code to every subscriber. This has always been an issue that the codes are swept in a blink of an eye. Please extend the bonus XP and CXP Event.
  16. When you do, can you make sure you make it usable unlimited times as the bots seem to get to it way faster than most of us can copy and paste the codes.
  17. I call BS on this. There are people who like the SH for bonus but also there are people who would like to collect all of the SH also. When Manaan was released, I honestly thought you learned your lesson from Yavin. You should have let everyone know before this SH was released that there was going to be a limit and you never did. On top of it all, everyone had to wait at least a week to be able to have access to getting it. What are you guys trying to do? Every twist and turn there is some sort of restriction put on what we can and cannot do in this game. You put ridiculously low caps when we know those caps can be put higher or taken totally away, but you choose to put caps on everything we do in game.
  18. For the people who have been saying there will or will not be server merges. We do not know that. We will not know until we are told otherwise. Back before the first server merge, they kept saying there would not be one and guess what, we ended up with at least two server mergers since then. I read things that there is a possibility that there will be a server mergers. Some months ago, I thought it was not needed, but that changed. If it does happen, I do hope we can choose what server we go to if there is still multiple servers. The fact is people are migrating to other servers, which leaves the other servers not as active as they used to be.
  19. Keith, I can only imaging what you all go through. I know its not an easy choice to decide or not to decide to do server mergers. No matter which way you go, you are not going to keep people happy. Some people like the big servers and some people actually do like the smaller servers. People have different play styles. I have been playing the game since since before it came out. I was in one of the last betas before the game came out. I have seen a lot over the years and how the game has evolved since then. I have to admit that I have not always liked every decision that was made, but I adapted to those changes. I usually come in without a huge expectation and that has always worked well for me. Having said that, I have gone through the past server merges. I probably lost a number of character names in those server merges. I even had one that I had to change twice because of it. Back then, we did not have as many assets as we do now. We had guilds, but we did not have guild ships, guild strongholds, personal strongholds, legacy bank. At least the first time there was a server merge, it was a real pain to get the guilds reset up on the new server if my memory remembers correctly. I believe the last time was a lot easier as they added the guild name@servername for guilds that had same names and the GMs did not have to do anything that time. We do have a lot more to think about these days Conquest, Strongholds, Guildships, Legacy storage, dyes and etc. I know I have said this before but I am going to say it again. If you are able to, it may be better to move mostly everything to account wide rather than Legacy Wide. This would save hopefully save most of the headache of trying to deal with legacy issues in case of server mergers. Legacy is fine if you only have characters on one server but it becomes more of a headache when there are people who have legacies on multiple servers. Conquest would be a big sticking point. As you mentioned, there are certain guilds that always seem to dominate the conquest board. You would need to increase the top 10 to maybe top 20 or more. There are even some guilds that have multiple guilds that dominate multiple boards. STO has armada. I would like to see something similar to it in SWTOR, but not exactly the same. I was thinking in something in regards to calling it a guild alliance. Whomever is main guild in the alliance is, is the one that sets the conquest for the week. The benefit of this is the bigger the alliance, the better chance of getting on the conquest board. So you can have a bunch of smaller guilds being able to get on the conquest board and bigger guild not being able to dominate multiple boards. If you have a system like this it would still be faction specific and you would have a separate chat similar to guild chat for the alliance. If there is a merger in regards to multiple legacies on multiple servers, why not have the multiple legacy names and trees?
  20. Keith, I am conflicted on the credits being legacy wide. On one hand its good but on the other hand its not. Its fine for people who have no plans on moving servers, but for people who decide to move server, this is a problem. It would be better to add this to the legacy bank and let the players be able to deposit and withdraw from it. Even better, make it account wide and you would not have to worry about loosing your legacy credits and etc when you move servers. I don't see it happening though.
  21. I really have not have any problems with customer service. In all the time that I have been with this game, I only had a couple that did not seem to know what they were doing. Most of the time they have exceeded my expectation which is a good thing. They have actually improved in the amount of time til they get back to me. It used to be about a couple weeks and these days at most a couple days.
  22. Most of the servers are not as populated as they used to be. I have gone back and forth with this but I do think that there needs to be some sort of merge. Look at both WOW and GW2. They both have separate server names but they share instances with other servers. I know some people here like higher pop instances and some may like lower pop instances. Why not in addition to PVE and PVP instances also be able to choose high or low population instances? GF, PVP and GSF should be cross server though.
  23. Keith, Thank you for the roadmap. I really do like the idea of our companions being able to get influence from sending them out. Its something that should have been in the game a long time ago. I like that we will be able to get tier 1 gear with command tokens. I do suggest to you to increase the command token cap as I do feel that it is a bit on the low side. I know there are people do not like the GC. It should have always been another way to earn gear, but not the primary way. Please look into opening it up to preferred status players and bring back passes to the game. Maybe even find a way to offer a way for players to earn game time in game like other games have done. I hate to say this but there are some servers that the population is not that good anymore. Please look into either merging or come up with some sort of cross server tech so that there is more people to play with. There are some players (and I know you are one of them) that plays on multiple server. Please look into maybe adding a crafters bank that is account wide to where you can actually keep only crafting mats and components in. Give us more account wide options please
  24. There are many reasons people decide to do solo content rather than group content. Many of which was already said but I will probably repeat it here. There are people who play on offpeak times so queue pops hardly ever pop. Even if they are in a guild, there may not be many people on when they are on. Doing group content can be a mixed bag. You may be put with some really great people, but you also can put with people that are not so great. For that reason some people really do not like to group up to often. There are also cases of people that actually have to walk away from the game periodically and its not fair to the group to have to wait for them. So in that sense, they end up doing solo activities. I really do think all content should have a solo option even if you don't get as much CXP for the content.
