  1. yuuzhan vong? I am currently ripping my eyes out.
  2. Nihilus will always be on my list of bests. He destroyed entire planets with his will feeding on the force of all things in contact with it. he could feel force sensitive creatures throughout the galaxy. He lifted the Ravager out of Malachor V and held it together. (yoda lifted a measley x-wing) And he made himself immortal by Storing his mind in his armor.
  3. Me and my friends use our lvl 50's to help each other level low toons. And being able to mail my low toons money and gear is incredibly important. Also the GTN and economy has to be spread out to the low guys as well. I would rather have a long queue than the low pops from two weeks ago. Run an alt of your old server if you're annoyed with the Queue. They probably wont shut those servers down. If more people start playing the game (fan boy hopes and dreams) those pops will rise and you'll have an alt on the 'new fatman'
  4. As a relatively Young gamer, These posts and replies are a double edged sword for me. I was 11-12 years old in 2001-2002 and grew up as the internet did. I played every game I could get my hands on. Seeing people being mean and rude, feels like an insult to me, even when they are being rude to someone else. Because I was the "lol 12 yr old gt*o newb" for a long time. I quit a lot of games simply because people act like if you don't get it right now there's no point in playing it. Now I'm one of the people trying to explain resolve bars and timing your CC so as not to waste it against their Cool Down. When I see someone being a, raged out a**, to other gamers. I try and remind the player to ignore them, and help however I can. Just telling whoever is being trolled, 'screw that guy you'll figure it out' or, 'hey your map hot key is 'm'' could add a long time gamer to SWTOR. Like the Nerds of Olde, that player may rise up, from the ashes of the general chat Flamers, and vanquish all trolls, only to corpse camp them until they rage quit. I'll be on his side though.
  5. So huttball with 2 balls? I never understood the point of capture the flag games. Completely Canon breaking in every implementation I've seen, or can imagine.
  6. I was talking about arena inspired WZ's and Ops with a few people in this thread based off of conversations we started in this thread The more I think about it the more I think objectives are a MUST.
  7. Hah I re subbed because I got tired of buying time cards and missing out on a sudden week because I forgot my time would run out.
  8. Besides with the Field respec legacy in 1.3 set only to lvl 10 legacy I'm willing to bet you will have decreased costs soon enough. and it's via legacy so only the people who find it necessary will use it. The field Respec in 1.3 does have the same cost for now though.
  9. I wholeheartedly disagree His post was about getting people off the fleet and into the worlds and doing things. It was not whining and actually seemed quit level headed. Even more he was saying in this thread and his own that He would like to see players being less lazy and having things handed to them.
  10. I joined a guild just for the fun of grouped WZ's but I usually don't have the time to sit through a whole FP or Op I play in 30-40 minute chunks lately. If I had more time I would want to star clearing and experiencing all of the PvE stuff. I feel like I'm missing story
  11. I don't think it's griefing on a PvP not on that scale. Griefing on a PvP would be camping someone for more than a few kills, or wildly outnumbering them and not giving them a chance to escape.
  12. When you say diplomat I think of Padme and Palpatine (before the lol gotcha I'm the Sith lord) A class I always thought would be (extremely odd) interesting would be a savant type character with inspirations from C3-PO R2-D2 and even Jar Jar or Phantom menace Annakin. 'Accidentally' deflecting enemy fire back at them. slipping in your own oil spill in order to CC enemies. your shiny droid armor reflecting light into their eyes. or even going blind and saying "Boba Fett !? where?" for huge crits Back to the OP I prefer the OR to the EU fewer writers with a better focus on the story. Besides all the fanboys cross-breading Skywalkers Fetts and Solos ... Leia's kiss on Luke's cheek was enough for me.
  13. I like the sandbox environment but Im not totally sold on Sandboxish class system. Having some Ultra do it all ship and piloting skills seems sortof 'copy paste' everyone will eventually be the exact same best ship.. If I could on the other hand rebuild and modify my ship over time in order to choose my role, I would take the time to try out each role and have a ton of pride in my hodgepodge cutsom built Starship. Choosing between an agile engile or a speed focused engine or a pull/tow engine, that Costed alot or had to be quested for or built with mutliple craft skills, would make it feel personal. Also the space and ground mixed op reminded me of the stuff in my signature lol (that might've been a small plug)
  14. I mostly intended that list to be in order of the way it was released. Yeah I did here something about them switching to regional, I did not hear about the merges in China though. I personally dont see merges as the big doomsday red flag most people do though. Computers get better, Bandwith gets faster. the engine running the game gets easier to run, and while content keeps things feeling fresh. It should over time be easier for companies to host servers, meaning that they can over time make the MMO more massively multiplayer.
  15. Battle groups. and cross server lfd. and then cross server raids. what's the difference except you cant quest or talk to anyone... are you just saying it because its sortof almost technically true? they should have merged servers. they didnt in order to save face and so Trolls (of the darkspear subset) could try out other MMO's and say things like "well WoW doesnt neeeeeed to merge servers so pppbbbtttthhhhh"
  16. They had to in the first few weeks of release up the Cap on servers and release a ton of new servers just so people could play. yes a bunch of people left the game they admitted that. but they also increased the server caps again one of the benefits of the fleet (or anything with the pop too high) being instanced into chunks of population is huge server caps you dont see on other games. They said in the first month or so of the game coming out that they wanted to have super servers... Also you keep using the word promise and I havent seen them 'Promise' anything, saying something 'should' be available at a certain time is not a promise it's an estimation.
  17. They got me and a 2 of my friends back. just to regear before 1.3 and I just sent a friend trial to another person. I thought all MMO's took a hit after release? and then if they are good they swing up slowly? To answer the OP I think it will increase subscriptions a little. But really people need to get over the doomsday posts. the people who quit SWTOR are the same people who will try and quit every other game out there. The people who are still playing and who plan to keep playing LIKE THE GAME, and they will just keep playing and maybe send a few trial invites to their friends.
  18. I might have missed it but has anyone considered Darth Sion and Darth Nihilus? They are crazy powerful! Also I think it might be impossible for the Light and Dark side to team up with the whole balance of the force thing being such an issue. MAYBE IM IN MY OWN WORLD OF CANON but, Wasnt the rule of two designed to weaken the mass number of jedi, while strengthening the only two sith, simply via force balance? Consequently why annakin fit the prophecy for balancing the force (2 sith alive vs 2 jedi alive ... also imo this is explains why Luke is so godmode, yoda dies and makes him the only lightside balance against vader and palpatine not to mention darth krayt chilling on tatooine)
  19. I guess I'm on the fanboy side of things, but it seems like, as players we are pulling their attention in a billion directions. Chat bubbles would be good. the RPers have also been asking for lgbt relations forever. Arent the other things you mentioned all coming in 1.3 though? ranked WZs and group finder? then on top of the functionals they have legacy perks and the constant class rebalancing and bug fixes.
  20. This is all even better with your forum avatar leering ominously from his hood.
  21. Never paying for an expansion would be awesome in my opinion. But if I have to pay for micro expansion like new planets and ops. Then I dont see the difference. So far they have been releasing a large amount of content (time considered) and could within a year have more endgame content than 'the competitors' While I partially agree with the idea that it must compete with current products, those products were released with less than they currently have. Also I think that the upcoming mmo's and other games having better graphics, will have little affect on SWTOR's sub numbers. refer to 'the competitors'
  22. Am I in a different world of gaiming? I feel like these patches are fast and closely scheduled. that's development right? and how is expecting less better? well son you're not getting **** for christmas, but hey you can look under the tree for free... It might have presents under it. but you cant open them unless you pay.
  23. Yeah bloom setting for sure. even dropping your gamma a little. you will lose overall light by dropping gamma but the consequential drop in contrast might help you personally.
