  1. You understand that different people work on different areas of the game simultaneously, right? It's actually quite possible to fix bugs AND introduce new features at the same time.
  2. You can continue to stick your head in the sand all you'd like. It's pretty clear from the link I posted earlier that this is something they are introducing and soon. The good news is it won't change a thing for you! If you want to commit to one spec and one spec only you can still do that! Awesome, right? The difference is you won't be able to dictate how I choose to play the game.
  3. Respec=/=dual spec. They've already announced they're introducing dual-spec, you'll just have to deal with it. Because WoW and Rift had is doesn't mean SWTOR shouldn't have it.
  4. Since they've already announced they're going to release dual-spec, maybe this game it's for you?
  5. He is absolutely forcing his playstyle preference on me. Adding dual-spec will not change his ability to play the game how he prefers (one spec) however demanding that dual-spec not be introduced IS changing my ability to play the game how I prefer. So you're saying most MMOs don't have dual-spec? Well most MMOs suck so let's not use them as blueprints for this game.
  6. I'm quite certain dual-spec will be optional so nothing is stopping you from committing to a role. Stop trying to force your chosen playstyle down everyone else's throat. Thanks.
  7. You don't need an armortech to play this game, you do need healers and tanks to play this game. PLEASE people, take 10 seconds to read what you type before hitting submit.
  8. You'd have a point if we weren't allowed to respec, but since we're already allowed to respec you have no point.
  9. I'd imagine we'll be buying the ability to dual-spec so you're wrong, dual spec will have a cost as well.
  10. This isn't real life, this is a role playing game that takes place in cyber-space. This is like the exact opposite of real life.
  11. So you're saying you can't provide a source to back up your claim? Got it.
  12. I don't recall that announcement, please provide a link. Here's my link: http://www.swtor.com/news/news-article/20110916 As you can see their intention to provide dual spec isn't some vague "yeah that would be nice to add some point down the road", they were pretty specific in terms of announcing this would be added soon after launch. It's coming, and the world won't end when it's released either.
  13. So that's why BW have already announced dual-spec is coming?
  14. Thank you to the OP for putting this into words, it's something I've been considering posting about for a while now but haven't been able to accurately sum up the issue. One of the MOST important things any MMO company needs to learn from WoW is how fluid their character movements are. I've never come across another MMO (AoC/Rift/Aion/etc) that came close and it's one of the only things that REALLY annoys me in this game, especially in pvp.
  15. You know I've come to the conclusion that the majority of anti-dual-spec'ers are just RP nerds who will spend 99% of their time leveling alts and RP'ing so not being able to find healers and/or tanks doesn't matter to them. The rest of us, the people who will actually be running organized pvp and pve already see the issue coming and we're trying to get this addressed before it becomes a major issue. The bottom line is BW has already stated they want to introduce dual-spec in one of the early patch updates so we know they're working on it and we know it's coming. Let the RP'ers complain, eventually they'll get over it.
  16. Ohhh noes! People might get to try different aspects of their class? Whatever will we do!!!! Umm respecing allows the same exact thing, the biggest difference being the time and credits it takes to respec instead of hitting duel spec. Hello, respec? If tank A has no interest in DPSing, but tank B really enjoys tanking and DPSing and is willing to respec when needed he's STILL going to have the same advantage, dual spec or not. No, it allows people to experience more of their class, period. If you want to just be a tank, then just be a tank. If you're a good player you'll find plenty of tanking opportunities but that's not good enough for you, is it? Nooooooo, people like you want to enforce your personal playstyle preferences on everyone else. Here's a clue, if you don't want to dual spec for whatever reason, don't use it. Simple, really. Jesus you people are reaching for straws here. Dual specing has ZERO to do with new players being able to find a group. In fact, it could HELP new players find a group by allowing them to respec quickly to fill a needed spot. If you want to play your class as strictly dps or tank or heals you can do so. Dual spec would have no affect on how you play your class, just stop trying to tell everyone else how to play theirs. Yeah, and where are those MMOs now? Oh yeah, dead and buried.
  17. OP's entire post can be summed up with the following. OP had to wait in queue during an MMO launch and a few of his posts got locked so the community managers suck. He also thinks this game is too much like WoW so he suggested some changes that would make it more like WoW. Please, go back to WoW.
  18. How are people supposed to "play with their friends" on servers that have 2+ hour queue times? It's 11:00am on a Wed morning and The Fatman already has a 20min queue. It's time to consider splitting the highest population servers.
  19. OP is trying to compare a game that's not even officially released yet with one that's been out for 7 years. /fail Compare WoW on release with SWTOR, SWTOR wins easily.
  20. Step 1) Make some friends and add them to your friends list. Step 2) Start a guild or join a pre-established one. Step 3) ?????? Step 4) Profit!!! This is a MMO, treat it like such. I personally hope BW doesn't go down the Blizzard route of hand holding every casual that's too lazy to form a group by himself. LFD was a big reason the WoW community was shot to hell and I hope BW doesn't make the same mistake.
  21. They should definitely let you change AC but it should be costly, say X credits plus a 3 month cooldown before you can switch again.
  22. Got DC'd twice in the last two days while either trying to enter a warzone or while in the warzone. Both times I got stuck sitting in a 1.5 hour queue after. The queues are bad enough but making people sit in them multiple times per day due to disconnects is really too much. Please come up with a fix for this.
  23. I'll preface this post by saying I didn't choose my server, BW did when they deployed my guild so please save me the snide "why did you roll on a high pop server herp derp". I understand that BW wants servers with balanced and active communities, but expecting people to wait 1 hour or more to join the game isn't acceptable. You're never going to get balanced and active communities if people's first impression of this game involves sitting in massive queues for weeks while you "monitor" the situation. A few suggestions. 1) PLEASE lock any server that's consistently hitting 1 hour or more queues for 48 hours. 2) Once the 48 hours is over introduce a WARNING pop up on all high queue servers stating the following. ATTENTION: You are trying to join a sever that is experiencing HIGH queue times of an hour or more. If you DO NOT have fellow guildies or friends on this server please consider joining another server. 3) You really need to consider offering free transfers off high population servers for individuals and guilds. 4) If you don't want to do any of the above you should be prepared to split realms and merge realms in 3-6 months once the initial rush is over and you can accurately gauge server populations. I really hope BW will take some of these suggestions into consideration. I really, really love this game but I don't think I can take hour plus queues for the next month or more.
  24. Dec 9th here. As long as I get in by the time I get home from work tonight I will be a happy camper.
