  1. I will hold my hands up and admit; some teams are terrible. These teams are wholly unskilled, and in some cases, yes, I would rather leave the WZ (and even take the 30min penalty, should they copy WoW) than continue to pull teeth. HOWEVER 'L2P, OMG, ***?!' is not constructive. If the person is an intelligent newb, then that's exactly what they are -trying- to do, and your comment is redundant. If, however, they are stubborn, arrogant, or just thick-headed, do you honestly think that 'L2P' is giving them enough information to work with? In this situation, once again, that comment is redundant. Some WZs are fresh circles of Hell, and I admit to leaving these whilst fuming inside. But, starting a flame war in WZ chat, or spewing insults without any constructive advice is absolutely pointless. All you achieve in this situation is to make everyone else as annoyed as you are.
  2. Thanks to both of you. I think I'll take the plunge and try PVEing as a sniper. It's a class I've had my eye on for a long time, and after playing the 'faceroll' SI I'm quite tempted to try something different. Now that I've heard that they are at least viable, plus the idea of being under-represented and visually less hectic than other classes, I think I'll be really quite happy as a sniper. Thanks again (!) Austentacious.

  4. Hi all, So to cut a long story short: My GF and I rolled SIs with the intent of PVPing. However, WZ lag, high ratios of HB, and getting smashed against 50s who geared by farming level 10s is wearing us down. We now wish to PVE with new characters. I'm considering sniper, but would only be interested if Marksmanship is viable. No offence to any Engis or Lethality guys, but it's MM that's drawing my focus. So, are MM Snipers pulling their own in HM and Ops, or would another class altogether be more appropriate for my needs? Thanks for your time, all.
  5. On my low level Sorc (Yes, Sorc, *gasp* all my points are now invalid!) I have been killed within 1 stun quite a few times, even through a shield. However, I know this to be from an epic geared level 50. Only this guy has been able to do it. I'm unsure if he uses Biochem stims, but HE is a force to be feared. Ops and Scoundrels in general? Well, it's been a mixed bag. Sometimes they catch me with my trousers down, and sometimes I can DoT / Kite and Death Field them out of any stealth they do manage to find. I think both sides of the arguments have, so far, been quite hostile towards each other. I personally would like to wait a month or two, and see how the classes balance when you get more PVP geared players facing one another. All I know is that DoT-Trolling the aforementioned 50 Scoundrel is the highlight of my PVP experience.
  6. In WoW I would play the economy a fair deal, as it was none too difficult to quickly learn market trends. Here, however, the GTN is so...unintuitive, I guess would be the word. I avoid using it, because it's so clunky. A simple search feature would alleviate all problems - 'I have 'X', I wonder what the going rate is? Oh its 'Y'. I could sell it now or watch the market over the next few days and try to calculate peaks.' I actually spent 5 minutes scrolling through pages to find a schematic I wanted to sell yesterday, only to find it was worthless. The time I wasted finding its market value was worth more than the item itself. So, yes. +1 and /signed.
  7. Title says it all. Quoted from Amber Green on the Dev Tracker: 'We are aiming for this weekly maintenance period to take place in an off-peak time for both North American and European players.' So, the US get to sleep through the patch, whilst the EU get to wait through it. /cheer. /dance.
  8. I'm going off now, but I will leave this message before I do: I'm am a customer. Where I am from should not matter. Currently it does. Therefore I will no longer be a customer. I originally set up a three month recurring sub, but I have just cancelled that; so has my GF. We have our remaining 'free' time, then it's over. I hope BioWare either separate the times or alternate between imposing this on the EU and US, but I expect equality amongst the playerbase. That is all: equality. I don't have to be to find someone who wants to discriminate me, there's plenty who will do that for free. Don't get me wrong: The game is incredible, and I sincerely hope this issue is fixed so that I can return, but I will not give my money to be treated as a second class citizen.

  10. I'm sorry, but they're not. It's a paid for service. The EU'ers have had to pay extra for both the game box, and the sub, due to currency exchange, but are then tied to the US Time-frame for the service to be provided. As has been mentioned before, this is an issue that does not occur in most other MMOs, be they AAA, or cheaper, Region Locked or Region Free. It's a small issue that will have a vast impact on quality of life for EU subbers: all of whom are paying customers, no different from the US subbers. It would be annoying if maintenance continued to be mid-day, but there would be LESS EU complaints if the US received separate maintenance during THEIR mid-day, too. Right now, the situation is imbalanced in favour of the US, despite the fact we are -all- paying customers meaning that imbalance should not occur. Ultimately, it's not about the pixels, it's about the inequality.
  11. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=90346&page=52 52 page petition to separate Maintenance Times - closed. I agree, EU Maintenance (for the server stacks located in Ireland) should abide by GMT. +1 /Signed. /Agree. /Hear Hear.
  12. Nice attempt at covering up, BioWare. They just closed a 50 page thread and directed us here. So...what, about 500 responses have just been vanished away in favour for about 50? I'm so damned glad that our opinions are valued.
  13. Tbh, it's not asking much - Same responsibilities = same rights. If EU'ers pay 'the same', slight price variations as have been mentioned before which normally favour the US anyway, then they should have 'the same' play hours. Midnight - 6am Local Server Time would impose the same restrictions on everyone. No favouritism. Alternatively, make every second Maintenance run EU time, therefore sharing the negative impact with the US'ers - thereby making us equal. Two solutions - one is obviously preferred over the other, but they both balance the scales, and make all subbers feel EQUAL.
  14. Signed. GMT says 'Hi'. Also, the Greenwich Observatory and it's illuminated GMT Line want to know what more, aside from literally installing a line of lights representing the central time line, need to do to get noticed by the US.
  15. Off-topic, and all, but still: Be thankful 'US Maintenance' is going to finish about 7 a.m. UK time, it doesn't finish until noon. They have the EU servers hosted in Ireland, running GMT, but apparently, all scheduling coincides with US time, which is really inconvenient. I'm hoping that's just for EGA, mind, and upon full release it'll run differently.
