  1. I've been opted in for the emails since before launch. I get the monthly emails regarding my subscription and monthly cartel grant, but no email about bonus cartel coins.
  2. /signed Both for my Ships and my Strongholds. Please. Thank you.
  3. Not sure if this should go here, or in the Suggestions box, so forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong place. I got the whole prefabs idea: don't make players feel that their chosen Crew Skill prevents them from getting the good crafted items. But, it also takes a certain sense of accomplishment out of it as well; since there's nothing unique to each Crew Skill, they feel interchangeable. So, my suggestion is not to take away prefabs, but add some nice goodies unique to each Crew Skill (Note: I don't intend for these to be Bind on Pickup). Some ideas. Synthweaving: Carpets, Banners, that sort of thing. Armstech: Weapons, racks, etc. Artifice: Crystal artwork, urns, datacrons, lightsaber forges, etc. Cybertech: Computers, lights, tables, etc. Biochem: Potted plants, med stations, "Pet" decorations (little animals that you can place, but can't summon like normal vanity pets.) Armormech: Armor and armor racks, for either floors or walls. This list is by no means exhaustive. Thoughts? Accusations? Recriminations?
  4. Before I start complaining (which will begin shortly), I do want to say that I really enjoy the Strongholds concept, and I'm hoping my comments will help improve it in the future. While the availability of various items is a bit of a problem (and something I'm sure people will comment on at length), my current problem is this: nothing matches. Never mind that I can't get some items I really want, or that they are only available it HUGE sizes, none of the colors match each other, except for the basic items. Let me give you an example: I have have the Dromund Kaas Stronghold. I want to decorate it in mostly Sith colors, meaning reds and purples. There isn't all that much that is red or purple. There is one lighting option (not released yet at the time of this writing), one bed, and two couches in red, and one table that's sort of purple. And, really, none of them go well together. I actually really like the variety of styles available, but the color palates are preset, and don't mix well (similar to the problem with armor colors at launch). What can be done? Personally, I like the idea of being able to set the color scheme of a given Stronghold (similar to how Dyes set the color scheme of your armor), and then automatically setting every item placed into the Stronghold to match (again, like what is done with armor), but I'm sure there will be other suggestions. TL;DR: Let us set the color scheme of a Stronghold, then make items match.
  5. Greetings, folks. As some people may know, for some time there was a "glitch" in the Legacy system that allowed you to purchase all ranks of the Legacy Speeder Piloting perk at level 1. While this was clearly not intended, it was very advantageous to experienced players, such as myself. I've been playing SWTOR since the beta; I've done every starter world many, many times. Last night, I played through Hutta for the first time since they "fixed" the Legacy Speeder Piloting bug, and I didn't enjoy it very much. I've gotten used to having speeders on all my characters (and since I have to spend Cartel Coin [i.e. real money] to unlock this ability, it's not "entitlement mentality"); I'm happy to spend the money for it, because it's worth it to me. Not being able to buy these perks decreases my enjoyment of the game. Please, give us the ability to buy these perks at level 1 again. Or, please explain how having these perks is detrimental to game play. Thank you for your time.
  6. I have long lamented the fact that only my Sith Pureblood characters can have any jewelry. (Technically, some of the female hair styles have jewelry diadems or ear rings, but that's not what I'm talking about.) I would really like to see more jewelry options for the other character races. On a similar note, why are Humans and Cathar the only races who can grow beards? Why can't Chiss (near-Humans)? Or Zabraks? Cyborgs? (Some of the male cyborg styles have beards, but I want a separate Beard option.) Making these things available on more races would be really nice. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
  7. I had actually been assuming that you didn't get Talent points until level 10, as per normal. But, you do get to use any specialized equipment earlier (Like sniper rifles, or assault cannons).
  8. Greetings, folks! As you might gather from my signature below, I've been playing SWTOR since early access. I have played (at one point or another) every class and Advanced class in the game. Occasionally, I'll still create new characters for various reasons (I want to replay the story, I have a friend who is just starting the game, etc.), but I've come to the point where I know, before I even make the character, what advanced class I want to play. It would make my life just a little easier if I could just pick my advanced class at character creation. But, I also know there are new players joining every day, and they don't necessarily know what they want to play, so here is my idea: A legacy wide perk that, once purchased, allows you to choose an advanced class at creation. Since it's optional (and probably expensive, though I'll leave that to the Devs), it won't affect new players, but we old hands who know what we want can pick it right out of the box. Questions? Thoughts? Recriminations?
  9. Just as a quick point of clarification: I wasn't the Original Poster of this thread. I was more or less aware this was probably a bug (though a happy one, from my point of view). I'm not arguing that it's "broken" now (though the OP probably was). I'm suggesting that they should change it from the current (and presumably intended) version to something more along the lines of the "bugged" version, because it worked better that way, in my opinion. I can see how you might have missed that I wasn't the OP, though, since I'm currently the most prolific poster to this thread. I figured, since it dealt with the issue I wanted to address, I should post here, rather than starting a new thread. Cheers.
  10. Actually, whenever I wanted to start a new character, I set aside a certain number of Cartel Coins for buying unlocks. Not only am I not spending Coins on these unlocks now, but I'm actually discouraged from starting new characters, because the perk was just that handy to me. We can argue until our fingers fall off from all the typing about who's "right" and who is "wrong" and what BioWare "should" do. Personally, I'm typing this because SWTOR is one of my favorite games, and I found the "broken" perk greatly added to my enjoyment of the game. Since BioWare are not mind readers, I thought it only correct to tell them this, and politely ask them to change it back. Will I rage-quit if I can't get Speeder Piloting at level 1? No. Will I eventually get over it and make new characters again? Yes. Will this change have made the game less fun for me, and for the circle of friends I play with? Yes. Simple as that. Have a nice day, folks.
  11. Misread what you were saying. Thought you were talking about changing it from its current state. On the same page, now
  12. Different people play at different rates. That's why it's great as an optional perk. If I want to spend the credits/Cartel Coins to buy it, I have the option. If you don't feel the need, don't pay for it.
  13. Then this is an example of what one might call a "good" bug. The ability to buy Speeder Piloting at character creation was extremely useful. Not being able to do so has very much dampened my desire to start and play new characters. Respectfully, BioWare, please change it so that we can again purchase Speeder Piloting at level 1 through Legacy.
  14. Not that this is really the place for it, but I was at a presentation by... the company that makes that other game, and they were talking about character design. One of the things they noted is that character posture matters, and that larger, more flowing clothing gives the impression of grandeur. And, their right. Don't believe me? Watch anything supposedly set in ancient Greece. Hell, watch the Original Star Wars movies. Vader was played by a 6'6" actor (much taller than the rest of the cast, except Chewie), and he still had the flowing cape and the Shoulders of Doom. While I do think they have gotten a tad carried away here in TOR, they haven't strayed all that far.
  15. Also, as another papercut: I think the Cartel Market would be the perfect place to put the option to change a character's advanced class. Make it cost about $10 real money, and that should help self regulate. If it becomes necessary, put a 30 day cooldown on the character who used the respec. I say this because, having gotten my ship back with my Gunslinger, I have come to the conclusion that I really should have gone with Scoundrel. But, having put in all that time and effort (plus a couple of Cartel Items), I really don't want to restart the character, either. So, he languishes in hibernation.
  16. EricMusco, I summon thee! I would like to start a lobby to have this thread stickied. It is generally well written, and it would help keep the number of "plz ad this feeture!" threads down. What sayeth the community? Sticky, or no sticky?
  17. First, let me say that I love the idea of this thread. Second, I found this thread because I was planning to suggest the Legacy "wallet," though I was calling it a Legacy Bank. Cumbersome, and tedious, are probably the perfect terms to describe the process of mailing items back and forth between my various alts (which has been made extra tedious because I can no longer add my cross-faction alts to my Friends List). The idea of having a tab in my bank (or several, depending on the level of my Legacy) where I can store stuff for all my characters to use is something I endorse is the strongest possible terms. It would make my life so much easier! As for the idea of combining the various Commendations, the only problem before endgame is that the planets aren't in the same order for both factions, so Balmorra Commendations are worth more to a Republic character than Imperial. Still, even if they were separated by faction, pooled Commendations would make leveling alts much easier. Third, and this is one I have suggested since the beta, I would love to be able to change the color of the subtitling in Conversations. Against certain backgrounds (like Hoth, or anything meant to be shiny) the bright blue-white of the standard subtitling can be painfully hard to read. This isn't as much of a problem for NPCs who speak Basic, but when everyone speaks Huttese it can be a real strain on the eyes. Fourth, on Crew Skills, I really wish the quests my crew undertakes to get materials was more specific. Now, I don't mean being able to send them out just to get the purple items (as near as I can tell, these come from a critical, and that's fine). What I'm talking about is that the various Grades often cover two different crafting materials, and if you want one, you almost certainly don't want the other. Example: I use Scavenging to try and acquire some Aluminum. My companion returns with both Aluminum and Desh. By the time I'm working in Aluminum, Desh is nothing but a waste of my inventory space, so why is my companion bringing it back? Conversely, if I want some Desh to craft gear for a low level alt (or whatever), then Aluminum is a waste of my time. This doesn't seem like that big of a change, but it would make my crafting life much easier. Fifth, when it comes to Crafting Schematics, could we please add a nice, bold "Already Known" to the window if such is the case. You know, like... um... that other game does? More than once, I have bought Schematics off the GTN, only to discover my character already knows them. I am aware that, when everything is working right, known Schematics are darkened, but, sadly, this feature seems to work sporadically at best. Plus, it's kinda subtle. Could I have a nice, bright STOP sign, please? Sixth, and mentioned elsewhere, but I approve: can there be a keybind for me to equip items directly onto my companion? I buy something for me, and 99% of the time I just right-click, done. My Companions? Open the Character Window, click on the Companion Tab, and then right-click. In particular, this annoys me most when it's a piece of equipment I can't use, but my companion can. (A more advanced version, and probably not qualifying as a "papercut" would be a context menu that allows you to select any companion to equip an item on, even unsummoned companions.) I may have more later. Thanks for reading.
