  1. Ive jumped servers in hopes for a single WZ que...after 30 min I turn game off. With all this talk about warzones how the hell are you guys getting into any?
  2. Ive been away from the game for quite some time and did some research before reaching out to you guys about imps ability to be immune to stuns. I see in warzones that imp tanks proc a ability that make them immune to all stuns. All we have is the immunity after a forceleap for a small period of time. I also know that the trooper class has the ability to be immune to stuns for 10 seconds. My question is why in the wide world of sports would they give imp tanks the ability and not guardians? Please correct me if Im wrong here. Ive gone over the spec tree and I see no indication that it is a ability we can spec into or even have.
  3. I am not a casual gamer by any means. I unsubbed last week and honestly never thought that day would come till after about 2 months of game time. My number one biggest disappointment was the customer service droid with the same answer to every concern. Ive played video games since pong and select the games of today very carefully. This game has huge potential but customer service is alot of hard work and money invested from the company to better ensure results with a human response. I am not going to pew pew about the individual concerns I have because they have been covered over and over again for the past 3 months. Another huge issue that no company could ever recover from is the sheer high numbers of players wanting to play one particular side. There are reasons for this and most of you know exactly what I mean but most of these reasons are personal preference. On my server Dark side has about 100-150 peeps in fleet at prime time...on the Light side there is at most 30. You can imagine what this does to the Warzone enviroment after awhile. 27% Unsub my foot! And guess what, most of them were not "casual players"! That remark makes me what to throw up. I can garuntee more are to come and its a crying shame. My favorite time I remember was leveling my first character to lv50. I ended up with 3 50's and 2 40's and will be back but not till things get straightened out.
  4. Ive been a big promoter of servers merging before ranked warzone matches go into effect. I do have one thing to point out and that is what happens to the legacy gain for those that do transfer? It is a fact that legacy is server based from the first character to reach lv 50. Those that transfer to a higher pop server will lose thier legacy gained and I do not like this at all. My point here is if free server transfers do happen the first character to move would be the one first to 50 and everybody else saved in that legacy tree would benifit from the "main" that transfered first when arriving to the new server. Not that hard to implement but may take some time and understanding that while alot of peeps pvp and are waiting for the ranked matches to begin do relish thier legacy gain. It is a accomplishment and shows dedication to your family tree and the server you spent so much time on. Hails
  5. My server was one of the first to go live during the early release. Now, there is approx 30 republic and 60 imperials online during peak hours. Low as that number seems between 3pm and 7pm que times are around 2 min if not instant. Can you say Huttball? When I get Voidstar I really feel like Im playing the game that was intended. I love Huttball dont get me wrong but I feel like that warzone should be a relief from the others...not something that has to happen due to low population. I was a advocate for server merges before ranked pvp teams goes live. Thank god they delayed ranked matches and still released Legacy. I am very happy to know that just maybe they were listening to their customers. I wasnt the only one who felt this way. If server merges or free transfers occur my only concern is the validity of the names of our toons. MMO companies do not understand how important the names of our toons are to us. I know with every resolve there is something negative that occurs but this one is huge to me. Will it be enough for me to unsub if someone already has my name? No. The merging of servers to ones that were live during early release gives people the opportunity to extend the community and grants those that have been playing since day one a important aspect of thier characters...thier names. Just my thoughts and I want to point out that a bigger population to play with would be a huge boost for everybody. How and when it will get done is still on the shelf
  6. This whole thread bothers the hell outta me. Its a game and if peeps wanna try and take a node it should not be deemed as wrong. Those standing at left not doing anything might want to join those trying to win and not dance around and heal themselves for cheap medals. Oh, and if a loss is enivitable....take a damn node and make it harder for those that want the match to be over with. Chances are those peeps are the main reason you are losing in the first place...hails
  7. I know there is already a thread "when will servers merge". I understand that there are over 800 replies on that thread. My main concern is that if servers are not merged before patch 1.2 this game will suffer a huge loss with the releases of other games in the near future. The new patch brings ranked teams for ranked matches. This is a huge step in the right direction if the population of servers were better. Im on the server Saber of Exar Kun. There is a grand total of 3 guilds on the republic and maybe 6 on the Sith side that will have teams ready to go. Reason Im pointing this out is not everybody on my server is in those guilds. Most smaller guilds on any server comprises themselves of mature, like-minded individuals. With a server merge there will be a great chance to make those numbers higher and the smaller guilds of today who want to do ranked warzones more probable. Server merges need to happen now and before the patch. Nobody wants to que solo for a ranked match or with 3-4 guildies hoping to get some rank. If the rank is individual and servers are left like they are then there will only be a handful of paying customers that are experiencing the greatness of ranked pvp warzones. Everybody else who is not a part "cliche" on thier server will suffer horendous penalties and prob unsubscribe at some point. I am not getting paid to say what I did. I am in a guild with peeps Ive known for over 7 years of mmo gameplay...way before this game. I want a better opportunity to compete and recruit like-minded individuals and experience this ranked scene the best we can. A server merge asap would allow this for all that are in my position and would make for a very good opportunity to meet new peeps and have fun. Hails!
  8. Dovahbrah, you just broke that dudes post like somthing Ive seen. Bravo
  9. Since that was the first post in this thread responding I didnt want to call that dude out and have this turn into something bad. I have to agree with Chamfer on this one tho. I have never seen a Sentinel pull 700k damage much less a Guardian. Responding to Eriner's post of a Guardian always staying in Shii-cho form I understand the bonus to the cooldowns and the 30% to surge. Im assuming your protection number is very low. I for one believe the Guard ability to be too important to push aside in light of higher damage numbers. Just my opinion tho. Thanks to everybody that has posted positive responses about their Guardian. In my case I switched to Focus becuase I wanted to boost the damage I was doing but still be a great protector. I find it very difficult to know when to switch forms since our healers are always the focus target of the enemy. Maybe I just need to move the ops frame to a better spot so I can monitor the health of people but right now Im having a hard time with it
  10. Ok, leveling is fine but will take you a little bit longer to down mobs. As you progress in levels you will get more and more ways to stun a mob. If you plan on speccing all the way in the tank tree then thats ok. You will have alot of mitigation and have 2 more interupts than a pure Vigilence or Focus Guardian. You will live and die by knowing your stuns. Although it takes a bit longer there is nothing that can stop you questing wise. When you hit 50 and are comfortable with your tank build it is perfectly fine to stay in this spec. I know a pure tank specced Guardian that I que with and his survivability is extremely better than mine. He has a shield that I dont have so he mitigate alot more damage which is perfect for Huttball. He can also leap and push so sometimes I find myself jealous at how much more damage he can withstand than me...basically this is verified after a match when I view the "deaths" and he has on average 3-5 less than I do almost every time. Now, my damage is better but it should be since im specced into Focus. His protection doesnt seem to be any better than mine tho so personally I like the fact of providing more damage vs. mitigating more damage. Its all personal preference. But to your initial concern about leveling as a tank is its perfectly fine if you utilize your stuns on cooldown and have your companion (kira) protected at all times. Just takes a little longer to kill a mob but not that much of a difference. I leveled a commando trooper (heals) with my robot tank...now that was a long grind but nothing could stop us. Hope I could help
  11. Dont think doing a hybrid tank spec is going to bode will for pvp. Also, till you get higher level you are going to be missing out on alot abilities. I would advise to stick to one tree at your level. Hybrid specs are for level 50's when you have the max points to throw around. My question to you is what do you want to do in pvp? Damage? Mitigation? I have a guildy that is straight up in tank spec with only a couple points thrown else where. He is level 50. He is a huttball carrying maniac and very hard to tear down. He has alot of interupts and his shield provides alot of personal mitigation from damage. When it comes to damage he does not care in the least but pulls around 120k-160k damage but Ive seen his protection as high as 200k. I apologize that I did not make it perfectly clear that this thread I started pertained to level 50's interested in my questions and those that were going to be on a ranked warzone team come patch 1.2. I am very happy to help any guardian out with pre-lv50 questions but want this thread to stay on topic...thanks
  12. I agree with most everything stated. Winning is the number one priority indeed. I just cant think of a time a healer will not need to be shielded. This is kind of my delima in that I play a class that offers a very important utility and I cant put it aside to increase my damage at random. I too care about my damage output alot since I played a dps class in a other mmo for 6 years...but, cant think of a time that my shield is not warranted. So, this is why I stay in Soresu form and provide decent damage but more importantly protection to those that need it 100% of the time. 300k damage in Soresu is nothing to be ashamed of and this is what I come close to every single match. 200k protection is delightful to all healers and those that need it
  13. I played in Soresu form the entire match and was specced all the way into the Vigilence tree. I found that my damage was not that great but my protection of others was good. I just lately changed to Focus and still stay in Soresu form. I am averaging 9-11 medals easily this way and doing around 275k-300k damage and 200k+ protection at matches end. I que solo most of the time. If some guildies are online I will go with them but mostly que solo. Im artifice as well and have thought about going Biochem for the stims alone...not the meds. Dont think I will change professions at this point in the game tho. My rotation is pretty standard. Pop trinket/Saber Throw/ Leap/Blade Storm/Stasis/force push/Leap/Force Sweep/Exhaustion/Master Strike. Then I pop Combat Focus and Zealous Leap. Then I target a friendly and Guardian Leap to them. Pop Challenging Call and Taunt and making sure your Shield is still up on someone taking damage...more than likely a healer. It all comes down to your spells cooldowns actually. What I stated previously is a opener I use from a distance. This happens when coming back to defend a Turret in Civil War or jumping on someone trying to cap a door in Voidstar. Its almost impossible to give a true rotation because there are so many circumstances that arrise BUT understanding the cooldowns on your spells will get you to think 3-4 moves ahead of time with whatever your situation is. Thats why I posted my opening rotation so you can see the priority of my selection in a perfect circumstance when you dont get yanked or stunned to death. As for staying alive when you protect a healer 99% of the time they will have you in the back of thier mind as to what you are doing for them...protecting. Other than that you have Saber Ward and Enure that is really your only way to mitigate incoming damage to yourself. You can always Guardian Leap to a friendly to get out of a jam or Force Leap to another enemy that is not expecting it. This will buy you some time and hopefully the person attacking you gets involved with someone else. I never run away and hide to get out of combat and use Introspection. Just hold up as long as you can and if a heal doesnt come your way at least your Shield is protecting someone. Just my thoughts on the subject and Im still getting used to the Focus/Soresu form but having a blast with it.
  14. I noticed that this thread is "moved". To where? What does this mean? I dont want to stray off the main topic but i noticed that several threads on the first page are tagged "moved"
  15. BTW, this post is open for anybody that has a insight on the questions I asked.
