  1. 1 40 man raid.. you forget BRM that used to be 15man and thus a (mini)raid as well? Onyxia was also a raid; albeit a single boss one with an equally epic quest chain to allow you access. There were no open world pvp objectives like those added later (Silithus sandbox lol anyone?) but it WASN'T NEEDED. Players knew where the fights could be found (TM-SS / XR) or they got some friends and created open pvp battles. The hand holding generation needs everything pre-chewed for them.. no incentive or creativity required. It is arguably why the "older" generation of gamers looks so disdainfully at the current efforts by games developers to pander to the new kind of gamer. The ones that prefer having everything at the touch of a buttton.. much like todays society I might add. PvP here is intensely dull at the moment. The potential of Ilum was squandered and ultimately scrapped. I raise my eyevbrow here considering the bravado surrounding Mythic's pvp crew. I guess the decline set in with the 'renewed' battlegrounds in DAoC; continued its path of (rapid) descent in Warhammer Online and ended in the cesspit formerly known as ilum. The fact that you can scour an entire planet (exluding homeworlds) on a pvp server and not meet a single enemy.. really?! Plenty of options for direct Empire versus Republic combat, like Balmorra or Correlia. Such a waste. The warzones are just a rehash of the generic template used in the industry for most of the battlegrounds/warzones/etc. Where's the innovation? Huttball was a step in the right direction; the others were a step or two backwards to say the least. Personally I would have loved to see the modification aspect further improved. Get more orange sets out there so people can create their own look. Made the individual mod pieces the ones PvP'ers fight to collect instead of entire generic set pieces like BM/WH/etc. Allow them to mix and match more than what is currently possible. Say I would want the armouring from the PT chest and the mod from the Merc chest.. I would need to get both full pieces instead of just being able to "buy" the mods using ranked WZ comms. They don't need to be mutually exclusive but it would add something extra for those who are more fervent about their PvP endeavours.
  2. First and foremost a game engine that runs properly and has a decent level of optimalisation. All the rest is fluff or just irrelevant if the game itself does not run properly. Sure there's a bunch of 'lucky' people who have no issues what so ever.. that dosn't hold true for a significant amount of others. The hero -> zero engine just isn't suited. I'd be tempted to say ditch it and rebuild using a proper one but we all know that is never going to happen. Aside from that a more fluid world would certainly be appreciated. Less loading screens; more interaction. Maybe this will come in the future but also have more actual battlezones between the Empire and the Republic now that the Treaty of Coruscant is dead. Introduce something akin to the Non-Aligned nations of the Cold War (ie a 3rd playable faction). I seriously doubt entire galaxies would neatly divide into 2 camps.. Reassess PvP class balance or just scrap it entirely. If Warhammer taught you nothing then just give up and focus on other things.
  3. Unsubbed a while back: 1) Technical issues: CTD, horrid FPS in zones that has only increased post 1.2 (the 30 free days made this apparent to me). All in all this game is unplayable for me due to these technical issues. 2) The butchering of PvP in this game. Firstly through the absolute failure that was Ilum and secondly through their metic balancing act of classes. 3) The simple fact that the design team is seemingly in a position that they are unable to orient themselves as to what really needs to happen to this game. Fluff content is not a good bandaid. 4) Friends leaving. You know; the social aspect of an MMO. 5) Bugs. Character bugs could be annoying but relatively low on the list of things.
  4. Its better to ask what isn't killing SWTOR in its current state..
  5. No one in their right mind should want to pvp here anyway..
  6. Better of making the title: "Who specifically unsubbed for 1.2"
  7. This level of horrid unprofessionalism has paved the way for me to go. Totally unacceptable.
