  1. I have played since EGA, was guild leader back before the servers merged. We were the first republic guild to have HMKP and HMEV on "farm" for the guild. After the server merge everyone kind of did their own thing, and inactivity, blah, blah, blah. Currently am full rakata and half war hero gear (raiding kinda dwindled when EC came out). I am a very devoted healer looking for a guild to do EC and TFB, but also dabbles a bit in pvp during those slow moments.....PUG groups in PvP are my bane (it doesn't matter how great of a healer you are, if your team is uncoordinated....or just plain horrible, all the heals in the world cannot change the outcome of the match). I am at the mercy of my teammates. So drop me a message either by reply on here, or in game mail. Toon name is "Bailer". PS I have plenty of other toons to fill out roles the guild needs, but Smug Healer is my main.
  2. This has really confused me, and somewhat angered me on how they've decided to "save" SWTOR. Ever since the beginning they have preached "community" and building community. Yet by choosing to "transfer" as opposed to "merge" they are being complete hypocrites and destroying what little community elements we have left after "The Great Depression". Here are a few of my questions, and suggestions as to why they should RETHINK the whole server transfer and instead implement a merge. My only hope is someone from Bioware actually reads this and takes it into consideration.....(but who knows what the chances of that are with layoffs and such). I can only speak for my server, but I imagine it is the same throughout. 1) There are plenty, PLENTY of servers for each timezone that are "Light" population. So in terms of timezones and playtimes, merging say 3-5 of the servers from the same timezone is VERY feasible. 2) The Community aspect. We have all made friends, rivals, and enemies on our servers. Not just within our guild, but from "PUG'ing" for PvP, Ops, and flashpoints with the general public. We all have a nemesis or two on the opposing side that we always try to "better" in each pvp match. By having a "transfer" system, you are driving a wedge through all of that. People aren't going to end up on the same server, and will essentially be starting from ground zero on the social aspect. A Merge wouldn't mean starting at "square one" but rather, build upon the community that is toughing it out through these hard times. 3) GUILDS...... So what is going to happen in a transfer as opposed to a merge. YOU ARE BREAKING APART GUILDS! You are basically saying "Well sorry you rolled on a server that has now decreased in population, but now start everything over" which is totally unfair when it was pretty much a gamble, because made WAY TOO MANY SERVERS (I think everyone can agree). Not to mention guilds were PLACED on these servers, so some of us didn't even have a choice to "try our luck" at a server. All the upgrades to guild bank...gone. Everything in it (used for your guild, be it gear/crafting/whatever system you are utilizing it for) GONE! You are splitting apart their members, and any "alliances" they may have with other guilds. You are destroying friends lists. Now sure someone reading this and who wants to troll could say "Well organize together as a guild and try to transfer to the same server together"......impossible. What some trolls fail to understand, is beyond The Outer Rim there is a place called "Real Life". I can speak for my guild (and even friends list) that there are a few people taking a break from the game for reasons such as schooling (finals season approaching), computer problems, sports related, whatever. Then 1.3 will drop, people will "transfer" instead of a forced merge...and when those on hiatus will log in, it will be a ghost town, any contributions they have made to the guild bank/others will be gone. Chances are since guilds are being destroyed, even guild websites will change (most likely because the guild will have to close up or adapt to their new home) and there will be no way to even track down where everyone ended up. I think transfers could be an option, maybe even a "pay for" option in the future AFTER server merges for those people that say have a bad reputation amongst their community or whatever. But Bioware why are you being hypocrites about this.....EVERY video I have seen from you guys, every interview and article comes back to the same core idea....community, community, COMMUNITY. This was your reason for not doing cross-server queue'ing as well as other things. So my question is "Why are you murdering a majority of the communities, after you've used the community as a scape goat for other flaws we have seen?" I mean sure there will be a few servers that won't be part of the genocide (The Fatman for example since it is already "heavy") but when you have 50+ servers....what makes other servers so much more special than the next...playing favoritism. You could also respond "Merging would create an imbalance among factions since a lot of servers may be Sith heavy, and if you merge 4-5 servers together that are already Sith heavy, it only makes the problem worse"....Well as a "born Republic" I can say that isn't a problem. We have dealt with 4:1 or greater sith:republic before and survived, so that would be lame reasoning. I am very interested in hearing what others think about the whole Transfer vs Merge idea, and although I would be VERY surprised if someone from Bioware actually read this...no LISTENED to this, and gave their input, I guess we'll have to wait and see ....either that or topic gets closed as an easy way out
  3. Will Smugglers/Operatives, and even Trooper's/BH's AoE heal spell hit more than 4 targets (outside of Warzones)? Or will its A.I. be adjusted. In pvp I totally understand the whole "Maximum of 4 nearest targests" as the heal is not channeled like a sage's AoE. But we are finding in PVE raid situations (Soa is prime example) when everoyne stacks up, the smuggler AoE ends up hitting people who are already at full HP, while not healing the ones who direly need it. The problem only gets worse when it comes to 16 man Ops.
  4. I beleive it was balanced to begin with. I was also 400/400, and now have dropped it because it is a complete waste. Hear me out, it was balanced before. You can only take 3 skills. MOST crafting skills require 2 gathering and/or mission skill to get all the mats and be self sufficient. So by taking slicing, you are essentially handicapping yourself for crafting, therefore being at the mercy of the economy in the GTN. So earning a little extra coin to buy those missing reagents to craft with doesn't seem like an imbalance. And I don't know about other servers but on mine, you couldn't give away those augments you get from slicing, let alone sell them for any "profit". You RARELY find any gear of superior quality up for sale in the GTN. When people do create one, they usually use it for their toon (because they are only buying the schematics for stuff they can use) or give it to there companion, to beef up their solo efforts. At 400 slicing, I made maybe 2k, 3-4k on those "lucky" moments as profit. But its not like you ca nrun the quests every 10 minutes. But even still, to advance my crafting skill, I still lack the ability to "get all my own mats", I have to buy them, and pretty much have to pay w/e the person is asking.
