  1. Hmm, I think the problem may be skipping bonus objectives. I started doing them later, but early on I just wanted to move on to more story, so I wasn't doing all of that. So it seems I effectively "gimped" my character by not doing some of the "bonus" mission objectives. I'm not sure how I feel about that. Technically it's my fault then, but if not doing the bonus objectives can put your character in a position where he can't proceed normally, it's not really a "bonus" is it? Oh well. Going back and trying to find groups for the scattered heroic missions seems really tedious and horrible, so I think I'm going to do pvp warzones to grind out the levels. Not at all what I want to do, but there you go.
  2. Bleh. Part of the problem is finding people to group with. You can spend a long time typing "LFG" over and over trying to get a group. And then you get a group and do one quest for a few bars of XP, and then you have to start "LFG" all over again for another quest. Oy, it's so tedious. I don't think I can stomach going back to Dromund Kaas and Nar Shadaa and going through that. I've been loving the game so far, but this experience is totally bumming me out.
  3. *whine voice* But... I don wanna pvp. Seriously, I shouldn't have to pvp if I don't want to just to continue my character's progression. That's lame.
  4. For my first play through I wanted to play solo. I figured I'd save all of the group content, the flashpoints, and the pvp for later. But now I'm level 25, and all I can find are level 28 quests on Tatooine. I wandered around Nar Shadaa seeing if I could find anything I missed, but no dice. There just aren't enough missions to sustain soloing the game. I've even done repeatable space combat missions several times, which give lots of XP, but it isn't enough. Unless I missed something somewhere, I'm either going to have to give in and do flashpoints, grind space combat for the next few days, or just kill random mobs until I gain a few levels. It sucks.
  5. There is something weird about how the game handles closed spaces... I get fps drops in closed spaces too, and you would think it's the opposite. Taris has some kind of extra special problems (Bioware have acknowledged that they are working on it), but really the whole engine has a problem with indoor environments, IMO.
  6. I think they should reduce the cooldown on fast travel to 15 minutes. Since it can only be used to travel to points on the current planet, not anywhere in the game's "universe" like fast travel features in many other games, I don't think it's unreasonable for it to be useable more often. Otherwise, I haven't been that bothered by travel. If you use fast travel wisely, and plan your movements according to your quest objectives, it's not so bad.
  7. Congratulations on this utterly meaningless achievement. For your next show of strength, see if you can fit 20 pairs of socks on your feet at the same time. That would be even more impressively useless.
  8. I wondered this too. From the movies, it sounded like the only thing that would happen is Anakin would be tossed out of the Jedi Order, and for some reason the scandal would ruin Padme's political career too. And that was one of the problems I had with the prequels, cause all I could think was "if it was me, I'd say to heck with the Jedi and Senate, I'd just go live at that awesome mansion on Naboo and make babies with Natalie Portman."
  9. For me it depends on where the game is going to take it next. It's disheartening for Revan (and the Exile too, for that matter) to have been beaten by the Empire the way they were, but since he's left in stasis it's obviously a setup for something to happen in the game. Honestly, I think the whole point of the novel is to give an explanation for why Revan can still be alive in the SWTOR timeline. Spoiler here for quest in Dromund Kaas: These possibilities are pretty interesting, so if SWTOR does something cool and interesting with Revan, it will go a long way to make up for what happened in the novel.
  10. Yeah, isn't shooting him in the face a dark side option, too? Even if it isn't, this is just one example. So many dark side options are the very satisfying choice of shooting someone in the face while the light-side option is the frustrating choice of letting someone go free who really needs to die, so it balances out.
  11. Actually, I didn't know that. Thanks! This is helpful. I think most of my inexplicable -1 were from her dislike of the empire, since I've been playing him as the Empire's loyal man. Strange that she dislikes the empire even though she's working for them, but I guess for her it's just about money.
  12. Anyone else feel that affection points are lost very randomly. I've been playing Imperial Agent, and I can't figure out why so many conversation choices loses a point with Kaliyo. Points seem to be dropped for the most mundane, conversational things. It's like literally saying "hello" the wrong way can make you lose a point. I guess since it's only one point, it's not a big deal. Maybe because it's only one point at a time, Bioware writers felt like they have to put a lot of situations for those -1 to show up in order for them to ever add up to anything. But it's like this nagging annoying thing to see that little -1 pop up all the time for no good real reason.
  13. FYI, the Twi'lek in the Deceived trailer is not Vette. That is Eleena Daru.
  14. That would be an heroic effort. That would mean everybody got at least the original 5 days of EGA -- which Bioware has never promised and truly has no obligation to even try to accomplish. If that happens, anyone who complained about EGA should feel incredibly sheepish if they are a half-way decent human being. They should be made to do the laundry for Bioware employees for the whole 2012 to make up for their insanity over the last couple days. Even if everyone gets in by Friday, that's excellent.
  15. I agree. I've played in many MMOs on the day that they launched, and almost without exception you deal with horrible lag, server instability, and most of all huge crowds in the starting areas. It was a joy to start a character today, and be standing next to only one or two other players when talking to quest NPCs instead of the typical blurry mass of players surrounding every NPC. Now, I understand for those who didn't get in, this is awful. Why not cram more people on there, they cry out? Well, that would have defeated the purpose of EGA. They didn't come up with EGA to effectively move the launch date of the game back seven days, they did it to stay away from those huge launch day crowds. Those who didn't get in today will eventually come to see the huge benefit of this staggered launch once they do get their access. Patience, my young padawans...
