  1. I've not had any problems on Taris, either, but I have seen dozens of threads on this subject. There is obviously something wrong.
  2. Problems: cutting in line is going to piss people off, and alienating new players is no way to launch a game. Stand in line like everyone else, and stop trying to come up with creative ways for you to get ahead of everyone else. You come off sounding like the guy telling the bouncer that he knows the band and should be allowed in ahead of all the pleebs.
  3. I would be tempted to blame heat, but given how long it's performing "well" before causing issues.... What kind of laptop is it?
  4. The queues won't be an issue once the launch jubilation period is passed. The servers are currently being capped purposely low to create queues, with the intention of persuading the player base to spread out rather than concentrate on just a few servers. Once populations have started to stabilize a bit, the server caps will be raised, and queues will disappear. Considering that the only other viable option is forced server moves, this is far and above the most fair and user-friendly solution. Please be patient.
  5. There are a few bugs, and a handful of graphical tweaks they have yet to address, but "early beta"? Come on... you're either full of it, or you don't know what you're talking about. I was in the WoW "early beta", when the level cap was 15 and a Cross Roads raid would routinely crash the server. I was also there for launch, and saw a lot of unaddressed issues go live... this is how the MMO world works: launch now, fix later. Indeed, this is seemingly how the entire video game industry works these days, given the ability of most consumers to patch via always-on internet connections.
  6. I made a tab for my guild chat, and that's all I keep up. Life's good.
  7. Officially, it probably has something to do with promised release schedules, and release-day patch deployment. Unofficially, and without intention to employ rhetoric, it may have something to do with the fact that nobody wants to work those hours. I know I have trouble working a shift from midnight to 0500, and tend to schedule my downtimes somewhat earlier, if at all possible.
  8. This. I quickly got tired of a hairstyle that I thought looked great on the customization screen. I would spend credits to get a haircut, if it was available.
  9. Agreed. You can rely on Tom's Hardware to tell you what the hottest products are, or you can rely on your own two eyes... and mine have seen this 1090T blow away Sandy Bridge builds every time we do a LAN party. And when it comes to pure horsepower, such as is needed for video encoding, it's a bloodbath.
  10. We find UI hacks that compensate, cope the best that we can, or get frustrated and quit. Note the OP saying that it is possible to mouse-over the item to discover its quality, rather than relying solely on the color.
  11. I second any suggestion that makes play easier for those with poor color vision.
  12. Just because I'm tired of all the "UP TO" responses: you're all wrong that it means 1-5 days; "UP TO" can mean zero days. Just FYI... you sound as ignorant as the complainers. Now, get off the forums so I can read without getting database errors.
  13. They recycled the post from yesterday. Check the date on the second post in that thread.
  14. Know how I know you didn't order through Origin?
  15. There will be a sticky once they start sending out emails. Just be patient.
  16. >look The room is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a Grue. >unequip katana You unequipped your katana. >equip ballista You equipped your ballista. >backstab Grue You cannot see the Grue! >light torch You have to equip the torch first! You have been eaten by a Grue. Perhaps MUD != MMO for many people, but the point is thus: class-specific equipment is a relatively new, and not necessarily good, thing.
  17. I had no idea they made a Cinderella 2. The horror...
  18. I am talking completely out of my arse, but I would imagine that one could pull this off by following this sequence: kick off the installer; wait for it to start downloading; stop it; copy files over from other machine; restart download. My guess is that it would "check" the existing files and finish up rather quickly. I have not tested this. Use at your own risk.
  19. After approving the app, Apple likely sued, claiming to have invented RSA.
  20. Old DnD joke... http://verydemotivational.memebase.com/2009/12/15/the-skill-amongst-skills/
  21. Well, if we're doing this in-character... *waves hand* This is not the definition you are looking for. You will all stop arguing, and get along. If any of you are female, you will acquire and equip a Slave Leia costume, then send me pictures.
  22. Then that's your working definition. That it differs from the one accepted and used by the people who created the game reflects more on your own misconceptions than it does on others'. I suppose we will simply have to agree to disagree on this point.
