  1. Wait, EV is hard? Damn guess our PuG raid that cleared it missed the memo. The amusing part is that you'd think Bioware would balance their game around 1 crafting profession, or that 5% difference in quality of item every 3 minutes is actually relevant. Kinda embarrassing really...
  2. Most used profession in WoW in the end-game? Alchemy by far. Did we cry like little spoiled children that we had to pay premium prices for materials / potions / flasks on the Auction House? Nah we dealt with this as a guild, harvested / purchased materials for our crafters and moved on. Make a unique purple mod that other crafters get access to that is BoP. I don't care. I don't pick my professions based on a flavor of the month attitude or what others perceive as "mandatory for the end-game". And yeah, _everyone_ in beta knew Slicing was ridiculously OP. Every slicer I talked to told me how it felt like cheating, etc. Lowbie teen characters ending up with 100k+ credits with little effort? Was quite obvious what that sort of inflated cash would do to the influx of credits into the system. Not that I cried for its nerf. I am sure BW had the numbers to justify their decision.
  3. I'll admit I have yet to use him but your concern is exactly why I never switched from Qyzen. Someone designed to run in and melee is infinitely easier at controlling NPC's. I use Force Quake for most of my NPC clearing and having someone engage at any form of range is only likely to make that more difficult by spreading the enemies out too much.
  4. Picked it in beta and upon release simply because it fit my character style. If by obvious you mean "OMG I can /faceroll everyone in PvP with my unlimited Simpack/Medpack/Adrenal!!!one1" then I honestly couldn't tell you. I leveled to 50 using none of what Biochem had to offer, personally so it's hardly necessary for PvE. I did just make my first Rataka Resolve Stim which I am sure I will enjoy using, although they're not looking that much better than the blue versions and it's quite simple to farm the mats for the blue ones. I am sure as the game ages, we will see more and more of these hit the market, but I am sure most people are more focused on building up their core schematics and less on selling this stuff...at least I am. I still have a lot of schematics to fill in.
  5. I am pretty sure this is a bug as I reported in beta, but I believe this has more to do with Action Queuing than wasting the last tick of Healing Trance. I can get 2 Deliverances at 1.4 seconds every time, or I can get a Deliverance followed by a Healing Trance to both benefit from Conveyance every time. Quite easy to do, just make sure you have action queuing on (I have the default 0.5 seconds) and after casting your first Deliverance press Deliverance again when you have 0.5 seconds or less left on the cast bar of your first cast.
  6. While this may be splitting hairs, when talking about the Seer build there are really only a few points discrepancy between any builds that make sense. So I do have to point out a couple things I don't like about the PvE build. Valiance seems like a horrible waste of 2 skill points. I mean really, unless I accidentally hit the button, I never use Noble Sacrifice without a Resplendence proc up, and regardless, we're talking 13% health lost vs. 15% health lost... I would MUCH rather have Confound 2/2, which at least gives you some boost in PvP in addition to giving you some decent ability to "kite" if needed (I've ended up kiting some npcs in PvE and I absolutely love snaring people in PvP). In short...2% less health lost (when you shouldn't be losing any health using it properly) or 20% snared enemies. No brainer for me. My last point of discrepancy comes from Pain Bearer 1/2. I personally opted for 1/2 Disturbed Mind. It makes your DoT more efficient/last longer (which synergizes with my 20% snare nicely), and I find that the 3 second extension fits rather well with refreshing Mind Crush (otherwise they both end at the exact same time, the extra 3 seconds lets you refresh Mind Crush and then toss out Weaken Mind for a nice-fitting DoT rotation). Ultimately this means we can worry less about helping out with dmg and gives us a few extra seconds to focus on healing. http://torguild.net/calculator/jedi-consular/sage/?p=232302210212021223132001020000000000000020000000000000000
  7. Hopefully they will allow subsequent dialogue options for marriage. Frankly, I decided to pursue one of the other dialogue options which seemed more fitting when speaking with Nadia which I thought might lead to the same end point of proposal, but the conversation ended abruptly, before I could back out. Given that she has been the sole romance option as a Consular, it seems a bit lame to say "Oh well you didn't choose this one dialogue option just right so sorry you're outta luck".
  8. Can't Armormechs crit on creating an armor piece and end up with an augment mod slot?
  9. I wish it were that easy. I have gotten 9 different types: Leadership Anti-Armor Critical Redoubt Overkill Fervent and the last 3 escape me. I guess it's kind of cool that we have the variety but it's kind of ridiculous if you're trying to get the proper stats that you want. I believe overkill gives crit and surge (could be wrong) and those are the stats I personally look for. I'm thinking it will be quite some time before I get the level 49 epic ones that I need.
  10. Leveled to 50 with Qyzen (Heal-spec). Any other companion choice as a healer spec is frankly foolish unless you enjoy dealing with pushback on your force powers. Do agree with some of the points, i.e. more techblades, would be nice if he could get engaged in the fights quicker, etc. I think his problem is that almost all his abilities are very short range, so it 'seems' like he is slower, but in reality I believe all companions would deal with this if they didn't have other long range abilities to engage quickly with. I have never once had him break CC if I specifically disable his 2 AoE dmg abilities, or I specifically give him the attack command on a CC'd target. However, I have noticed that when you dismiss/resummon Qyzen one of his 2 AoE abilities gets turned back on so watch out for that.
  11. This is a pretty huge issue for PvPers. As a former WoW player I wholeheartedly agree with the OP. Trying to do things like interrupt a cast at the last moment become essentially impossible. As a healer who has to do everything to try and stay alive or keep someone else alive, it can be extremely difficult with this sluggish response.
  12. And why wouldn't you think so when they initially stated they were offering it. Quite simple to achieve. If you entered a pre-order code AND you pay for your 1st month's subscription, the system could _easily_ allow you to keep playing for X days at which point you have to enter your product key or you get cut off. The fact of the matter is, it's almost obtuse to offer an online retailer collector's edition to which one of the benefits is Early Game Access, only to say "Oh sorry once you're done with that early game access we'll be shutting you off for X days until the product we sold you arrives" well after the launch date...
  13. If there weren't a number of options that could easily have been achieved to allow people to continue playing, without having to do what you describe, you might have a point. As such, I can only attribute it to a lack of concern on Bioware's part and their retailers. It would be effortless to achieve an arrival date by the 20th via mail or at least the product key by email. If they choose not to pursue those then it simply shows a lack of concern for their customers.
  14. Now while it may be that Walmart.com support is incorrect, this is what I was told regarding my CE order. "Thank you for contacting Walmart.com regarding your order status. XxX we are more than glad to help you with this matter. We tracked your order ### for Star Wars: The Old Republic Collector's Edition (PC/ Mac) and our records indicate the package is in order status, and it will ""ship"" on 12/20." Note that he puts ship in quotes, which seems pretty specific to me. So I get to play potentially a couple days early, then I get to wait for a physical copy of the game to arrive even though I have the game installed? I too took off vacation around this time, which is really a bummer that there is no grace period or that the retailers at the very least can't email you the product key ahead of time before the actual hard copy arrives. I may just go in on my vacation days and take them closer to Christmas, heh...
