  1. Season 1 never happened and never will.

It was supposed to be for level 50s.

BUT EA/BW fumbled repeatably and lost a season.

Class balance, server Qs and rapidly falling subscribers killed them.

Now level 55s will MAYBE have a chance.

I would not count on it though... knowing EA/BW the way we do.

  2. I would bet a small amount of money on never...

The developers have failed to offer a game with any balance.

They have failed to act in a reasonable time to things that everyone else knows.

(well except for to 5% that will argue against anything no matter how obvious it is)

Each time they try and fix something, they make things worse somehow.

And the big kicker... they fail to listen to their subscribers.

Why would they now listen to you???

  3. The fix for PVP in SWTOR is to play a different game.

  4. The 2.0 twink is level 50 with full EWH/mod/aug. Just do NOT buy the expansion.

EDIT: Of course there will still be level 29 (or where ever they set the break point) PT/VGs ruining lowbies fun.

  5. Seems to me that how he wants to play carries an intrinsic risk of getting stuck with a team of bads against another team which has a premade or two. That is what we like to call a consequence. If he doesn't like the consequences he should maybe consider a different choice.

I am considering a different choice... it is called WoW or GW2 or even DAoC.

When too many of us make this choice (the correct choice for us) than all the worries about Q times will come true. Because the population will plummet as the game dies...

  6. Untrue. You act as if a 4 man premade is some fort of all powerful entity. It's not, and if someone is derpy enough to go AFK at a node than that can cost his team the game. Don't believe me? Give it a shot and see what happens. Evey single member of a team has the ability to influence the out come of the game. You are just deluding yourself if you think otherwise.

There are teams of 3-4 casual players who do not affect overall balance. BUT, There are people who specifically groups up to overpower the current group of PVPer who are Qing. These people chase others from this game.

You numbers are off. You don't take into account the numbers of other players that a queuing up for PvP. More players makes the queueing more random and less of a chance of people in vent together getting into the same WZ.

It depends on server size and time of day. I have had 6 or more Qs in a row where one of my friends/competitors have either been on my team or against my team. We had a good time whispering back and fourth the whole time. He also solo Qs.

I was trying out the whole fraps / youtube thing, just posting it because i wanna see where this thread goes with some more vids.

    i'm fully aware that i'm a terrible assassin ;-)

My best advice to u is to use the time between battles to heal up.

I am not talking about when there is no one around but after you have finished off one guy but you have not yet re-entered combat. Just take the 4 seconds to heal up some before you run in.

You did this well a couple of times but coulda done it @ 6:05 and again @ 10:15.

  8. Yah... I miss DAoC

It took 4 hours to take a keep sometimes but was fun for almost everyone the entire time.

EA is more concerned with unnatural content and politically correctness than fun PVP objectives.

WZs are increasingly becoming one sided. I think 80% are so lopsided it is a joke.

I win more than my fair share as a pug but only 1 in 5 are even worth playing.

  9. So you reject a system that "might" put a good player with bad teammates, but you also reject the current system that allows people to pick at least 3 of their teammates?

    YES.

Let's say that a 16 man WZ (both teams) have 6 good players, 8 average players and 2 noobs...

That seems about average for high volume times.

If one team has 4 or 5 of the good players they are gonna win.

When this happens every once in a while it is OK.

When this happens every round because the 4 good players Q together it sux for the other 12 guys.

Even the other 4 guys who get put with the pre-made.

WHY... because they have virtually no ability to influence the outcome of the WZ.

Any one of the remaining 4 can prob AFK the whole match at a node and still win.

Any one of the 8 on the non-team side can play their azz off and still lose.

THIS IS THE KEY TO THE WHOLE SOLO Q ARGUMENT!!!

People want to have what they do matter at least some of the time.

Now let's say that the same 4 guys are on chat and they are forced to random Q.

There is a 50% chance that they will get to play with each friend per WZ on same faction battles.

There is close to 100% chance they will play together is opposing faction WZs if they Q at same time.

They still get to socialize and have fun playing the game.

They are still playing with them all some times.

They are in more competitive WZs most of the time.

The complete randomness means that the teams will be better balanced and even the average players

have an opportunity to affect the outcome. It also means that there is an ever changing makeup of the teams. Things don't get stale for extended periods of time. Most people don't go on 1-10 losing streaks.

Let me point out that I am considered one of the better PVP players on my server. I almost exclusively solo Q.

There are many players who I enjoy playing with. BUT I also enjoy playing against them.

If you can't stab your friends in the back every once in the while... why have friends?

I also quit about 10% of the WZs I am in. WHY, because I have better things to do than feed the fuxnutz with ego problems who like to gang up on people 4v1 and think they are good at this game.

  10. ...conclusion: i felt so bad about my decision to spend money on a lottery system ingame. Please, take this serious!

    Lesson learned...

Seriously, spending money foolishly is a lesson that every person has to learn.

Some people have to learn it multiple times.

If it cost you less than $100 for this lesson, consider yourself EXTREMELY lucky.

Live life... Have fun, If this game isn't contributing to your enjoyment... don't do it.

P.S. If this system EVER has 1 single item that is even close to P2W please join me in quitting this game entirely.

  11. ...With a very small player base that swtor has it would be unreasonable for them to split brackets. Queue times would increase by too much making the game far less enjoyable...

SWTOR had a very large player base. EA/BW's inability to make intelligent decisions about content/player balance/solo-Q is what lost most subscribers. This game had plenty of potential they just pissed it away.

The only way for them to increase subscription base is to FINALLY start offering what the people want.

  12. ...If anything I would rather see better matchmaking rather than punishing groups. Some script BW could implement that would try to fill in one 4 man on each side first if available...or something along those lines.

The problem with "matchmaking" is that the really good solo Q player (high rank) would ALWAYS get stuck anchoring the non-team side. It will often end up with him on a team of 1-2 good players against a team of at least 4 good players. He/she will ALMOST ALWAYS be at a disadvantage.

  13. What in this game makes you think there is such a thing as a Solo Queue?

    IT DOES NOT EXIST

Games only continue to exist if they offer enjoyable options for large groups of their subscribers.

There is a large group of PVPers that want a solo Q option.

If EA does not provide for these players they will lose them.

I have already stated that I will spend my money elsewhere if EA does not offer solo Q option by Independence Day this year. I know that 1 subscriber does not matter BUT many subscribers do.

If all the solo Q PVPers quit SWTOR, then PVP will quickly die in this game...

If all the 4 man gank squads quit this game... EA will actually increase their subscription base over time.

What should EA do if they want to keep this game going long term... hmmm

MAYBE a developer will finally listen to REASON...

  14. This is all silly of course...

IF people who form pre-made teams are saying that there is no benefit for pre-made over a group of pugs then they will NOT have any objection to allowing a pug only Q... RIGHT???

The reality is that when EA gives the 70% of the population what they want for fear of losing even more accounts... Those pre-made teams are gonna cry like a little children who just had their sucker pulled from them. TRUTH!

  15. This is all silly of course...

  16. I am not sure if this will go live but... these are patch notes from EA about 2.0

    Star Wars™: The Old Republic™

Game Update 2.0 PTS Update Patch Notes

    Last Updated: 3/6/2013

These notes detail changes made to the PTS server on 3/6/2013. These changes only apply to the PTS server and may be updated for accuracy.

    General

Players who are in a guild will now receive a 5% experience bonus.

It looks to me like EA is trying to kill solo Q and non guilded players instead of giving them ANY love.

Maybe it is time to go spend my $ on a different game???

If this is how EA plans to support us solo types in the future... then we have no future here!

  17. No. If you are F2P then the expansion costs more. If you don't buy the expansion then you are barred from levelling above 50 and from the 51+ new content.

    Yah... that's cool...

I still think I'm gonna skip the expansion. That way maybe all the cheatin PVPers will be 5 level above me and I can face mostly honorable competitors.

If things don't get better for PVP in this game (LIKE SOLO Q OPTION) I'm gonna end up spending my $ somewhere else anyway.

Good luck to you who do fork over your money...

  18. sooo you want a free expansion after what they have already done with the patch yesterday? oh man the days of subscribing are long gone lol. they showed us the worth of our loyalty as "Subscribers"

Are we all better off converting to F2P accounts???

You get the expansion for free then... right?

Either way... I'm sick of paying real money for a sub par game.
