  1. Void is a great guild on the Progenitor Server, developing many aspects such as roleplaying, PvP and PvE with a steady stream of events in the pipeline on both the Republic and Imperial side of the war. We're a friendly group from a wide range of backgrounds so you'll be sure to fit in. I wasn't intending to guild up when I started playing, and I'd probably have cut my subscription by now if it wasn't for my fellow Voidists If you are interested in joining or would like to contact us about cross-guild events / relations then please get in touch either by contacting Sangha (see original post) or by visiting the Void's website at http://www.insidethevoid.eu You can also find me in-game under the name CuthbertAllgood, have fun!
  2. I can't believe people moan about this game so much. It's a damn good game and I get a lot of enjoyment out of it. You've got maybe 320 hours of pve game time (taking an average of 40 hours x 8 classes) then the pvp aspect. Some people expect way too much and it gets on my nerves when Bioware / EA pander to whoever shouts the loudest cos the game won't wipe their nose for them. Rather than jumping up and down let Bioware give us the game they're building (use of the future tense is deliberate) because it's the whiners who ruined SWG. Rather than complain all the time why not constructively suggest things instead, you look like less of a goon if you can at least be mature about it.
  3. BS, Revan and Bastila had the SW universe equivalent of a Squib.
  4. There is nothing proving it either, is there? If a character gives an opinion, it is worth as much as mine. If Luke Skywalker said 'I'm the tallest farmboy from Tatooine!', does that make it a fact?
  5. Plagueis imposed his will on the midichlorians, that's not light side so Luke is never going to achieve that is he? Luke saved trillions of lives by destroying the first Death Star. He saved trillions more by bringing the Yuuzhan Vong war to an end with Jacen. If this discussion was about who saved the most lives, what about the guy who invented the innoculation for nerf flu? lol
  6. Isn't there a deleted scene for RotS that covers Dooku knowing Palps / Sidious are the same or am I just really vividly remembering the Revenge of the Sith novelisation? They were in the war together, playing both sides against the other just as Plagueis and Sidious did for one purpose > bring down the Jedi. Dooku was a Sith but that would have only been to commit him to the cause until Anakin could take his place. Think about it logically, Dooku was too old to be a long term plan. Sidious even says as much at the end of the Plagueis novel. Sidious was giddy on the thought of the Force's reaction to he and Plagueis trying to create life being turned into a Sith itself. Oh, and Dooku was a Sith from the beginning, darthtyranus.com was registered by Lucasarts prior to Attack of the Clones being released.
  7. In terms of the year system, everything goes by 'BBY' and 'ABY'. BBY means 'Before the Battle of Yavin' - the Death Star's destruction in Episode 4, ABY = After. Treat BBY as 'BC' and ABY as 'AD' The Old Republic is set in a period 3,643-3,641 BBY. Prior to the Old Republic you have the Tales of the Jedi era (TotJ) and the Knights of the Old Republic era (KotOR). TotJ and KotOR consist of comics in the form of graphic novels, and are really the only EU source. After The Old Republic and it's associated novels (Deceived, Fatal Alliance, Revan and another unnamed novel yet to be released), there's a gap of about 2,000 - 2,500 years until the Darth Bane Trilogy (Path of Destruction, Rule of Two, and Dynasty of Evil), as well as the graphic novel 'Jedi vs Sith'. There's a good 'rough' timeline of the EU here > Clicky
  8. My biggest energy drain was constant use of Quick Draw, what level are you? Don't forget Flash grenade / Nut kick to give you a breather. While they're dizzy / in pain, stick a bleed on them, it won't interrupt the incapacitation but will continue to hurt them while you're regenerating. Also, kit out Corso / Bowdaar with decent armour, let them take the heat. And don't forget Cool Head!
  9. To quote our favourite green Jedi, Quicker, easier the dark side is. Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny!
  10. I found Tatooine a big step up from Taris, even near the end of the planet the fights were tougher than I thought they should be, my brother thought the same... I'm sure it's doable if I spent more on gear and was a decent player...
  11. West End Games (D6) did a great job, however their system is geared towards heroes rather than villains. Many of the 'great' SW authors actually started with writing little bits for the D6 sourcebooks. If you have to go D20, I'd go 2nd edition (Revised Core Rulebook). SAGA is just too clunky.
  12. People see Star Wars as Jedi vs Sith, and saw the Vong as more 'Klingon'. I enjoyed the Vong war personally (aside from killing Anakin ) and would love further media in this era.
  13. Oh God, Too much to talk about, but I think she quit writing SW due to fan rage based on her negative portrayal of Jedi and love for anything Mandalorian. Hard Contact and the subsequent Republic Commando books are supposed to be good, I only read the first 2 though...
  14. Don't cite Exar Kun's destruction of Gantoris as a reason without mentioning Bane's feat against the cultists on Prakith when he grabbed Andeddu's holocron (the death field). Also, his lightning is probably second to Sidious... He was also extremely skilled against opponents with double-bladed sabers like Kun's, based on his training with Kas'im.
  15. To quote Obi-Wan, "What you say is true, from a certain point of view." While Jedi are Jedi and Sith are Sith there are some very clear distinctions to be made, otherwise they'd all be the same cookie-cutter clone type. Take Bastila Shan, her battle meditation skill was a gift which not many other Jedi at the time could utilise, especially not with the same degree of success. Look at Bane and Zannah, Bane was your brute force Sith who tried and failed (as already pointed out) to utilise the kind of sorcery that Zannah was able to wield. And I doubt she had the constitution in the Force to keep the orbalisks at bay. Windu and Yoda - the extreme ends of the spectrum when it comes to Jedi.
  16. Consular and Guardian began with the Wizards of the Coast first edition of the D20 RPG, way back in 2000. Sentinel was introduced in the first KOTOR game...
  17. My favourite ship is probably the YT-2000. X-Wings are still awesome though...
