  1. UPDATE 31.07.2013 - Ansprechpartner angepasst (in game bevorzugt)
  2. *shamelessly push* I wonder how many more threads for this issue will be created before BW posts 'something'.
  3. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=650789&highlight=relaxed+vestments
  4. At least the community is answering. ^^ Yes, I forgot to mention: mine is female body type 2, Sith pureblood, body color is this really deep red (don't know the number). I tried to change the colors of the chestpiece, but the problem persists. So, I suppose it's not the dye modules. Also, I asked people around me, whether they see the bug as well - yes they do. I assume it's not a problem on my end then. I guess something with the textures went wrong when deploying the patch. Still some official answer to this would be nice. And yes I agree, the clipping issues getting worse with every patch. I mean, just look at this new miniskirt while moving around. It's insane. Not to mention the extensions on clothing... meh. EDIT: - Oh, btw. deleting DiskCacheArena did nothing to fix it. - Any change to the graphics options neither. - Nvidia system settings is on "let the program decide". - As you can see, it somehow seems to 'match' the skin color of the character. Just a bit brighter.
  5. *push* You know that this armor piece was purchased with real money? Any official answer would be nice. Is this a known issue that will be fixed, are you looking into it or can I do something to prevent this behaviour? Anything?
  6. http://picload.org/image/awowraa/chestglitch.jpg As you can see in the screenshot, there is a red stripe between the bra and the wraps. This stripe doesn't occure in any preview window, neither in the character sheet nor in the character menu. It is only there in in game graphics. I'm using a "white and deep red dye module" on it, bought from the security token vendor. My graphics card is a NVIDIA Geforce 570, driver 320.18. I already used the repair function, it did nothing. I deleted the asset files that contain chestpieces and redownloaded them via repair function. It didn't solve the problem. It happens when using SWTOR unleashed as well as when using the clean original launcher. There is no other programm running that touches the client in any way. EDIT: The glitch even isn't present when my character is in dialogs.
  7. The new Dark Ward effect; I really don't like it, because it looks awkward and makes no sense at all. See, the Jedi equivalent of it has some sense, you're ripping stones from the ground, that are supposed to protect yourself - fine. But this? Could you please explain what this "toybox" thingy over my head is, that disassembles itself and then floats around me? Seriously, what is it? Where does it come from? How is it supposed to protect my character? What the ... ? Please change this to something that is more logical and appealing, like a dark bubble that's softly swelling and deminishing as long as the skill is active.
  12. Yes. The CM however brings in more goods. More variety means, the chance of money being shifted from one player to another increases. As said, that's the same money you want back eventually. You get it back mainly by doing Dailies and the like, thus creating new credits out of thin air. To be honest, I don't think what OP says is that far-fetched. BW introduces a cash shop and wants players to spend money on it. In order for this to happen often, they adjust their own game accordingly. That really hasn't anything to do with being a conspiracy theorist. It's pure economy. Albeit one that leaves some customers behind upset - obviously. As long as enough people are willing to play along with it though, it's viable for BW. Simple as that.
  13. They quite frankly all look stupid as ****, in my opinion. /facepa ... int It continues BWs tradition to throw out merely recolored versions of already existing stuff. PS: Only thing I like, is the haircut of the Bounty Huntress. I hope other species get it as well.
  14. Yes it is. Just not a direct one. The money you spent on the GTN is gone for you. Eventually you want it back. The main source for that would be Dailies and doing these means creating credits once again. Credits on top of the credits you just shifted to another player.
  15. Funny, I knew someone would come up with this. Actually it's prove that you just want to head for a confrontation. I've said that because there were doubts, that I know what I'm talking about. There even were doubts that I do PvP at all and there were claims that I couldn't handle farming gear with Expertise on it. So, no elitism here, sorry... So, you admit, that it isn't as much of an issue on your server as well? Nah, probably not... Anyway ... What impresses me the most is your unwavering certainty, when you talk about all this. I'd love to have your clear insights in other people or in as to why things happen. I really have to submit to all these claims, I guess... Nothing to add here. Wait, what ... ? Did you really just use the word "guess"? Now where did that "guess" go? Lost sight of it, damn ... You know, from time to time, there are players that actively defend an objective but don't call incomings for various reasons. Do you ever talk to these people? I do and the answers reach from "calling is useless" to "I can't call and fight at the same time." through to "I didn't know that I have to do this, sorry.". Surprising, isn't it? So, care to take out the incentive from the current systems with some suggestions? If I read it correctly, you admit that this problem exists right now. Why not provide a solution, if it is such a big thing? Get-rid-of-expertise aside, you proclaimed, that the incentive must be removed. It isn't at the moment. So, your solution is ... ? You probably will try to throw the ball back to me now, instead of searching for a solution that could be applied to my suggestion as well. And that's the point were it's becoming obvious again, that you are a person that's just discussing this thing here in a deconstructive way. Before you start about how I am the one that has to give a solution, because I am the one that made the suggestion and you are just pointing out what will go wrong - I already did. You just don't like the solution, for whatever reason there is. First paragraph is irrelevant, to be honest, since I suggested another solution. Sure, I didn't explicitly mention that the vote-kick mustn't be cancelled by actions of the affected, but it's really not so hard to add this little detail in thoughts, is it? Let's see, did you do it? Did you try to evolve my suggestion? Oh, no, you didn't, you merely tried to smash the suggestion by leaving this weak point behind. Once again the word "deconstructive" springs to mind. Second paragraph: true, it's 7 people then for the moment - but what do you want; an AFKer all the way to the end or an option to kick said AFKer, thus open up a chance that a legit player steps in and the match is winnable again? You rather take the first option? Because that is what your concern sounds like, if you just deny this solution. Before you start to bring up the next problem with this, which would be, the AFKer could join the match again, let me preempt and suggest a debuff for the kicked person. Maybe this debuff could exclude them from any WZ for a certain period of time. I wonder how long they would deem it viable to go on like this. Yeah, but it could. What's the matter with this statement? Again deconstructive. Oh, take a look at this! So, you can go a step further in thoughts after all, but seemingly only if it benefits your agenda. Nevermind, at least in the end you finally were a bit constructive here. Let's think about it. The amount of self damage a Sorc does, could be subtracted from the total healing he has done. I don't think so. As said before (not only by me), PvP gear as it is now, is already very viable for PvE content. Apart from what so called "pro gamer" try to tell you, you can very well successfully take part in any PvE content with it. That means, if your prediction is correct, people would storm WZs right now, in order to easily obtain viable gear for PvE. And that is simply not the case. Conclusion: it neither would be the case with Expertise gone. At least, I don't see any incentive, that isn't already present. I don't know why you're telling me this, but - yeah. *shrug* You know, ideal conditions don't always occur. In any case, given the sheer amount of deconstructivism on your part, I'm quite frankly not really eager to discuss this any further with you. You probably will now switch to something like: "Yeah, because it hits the bullseye and you can't debilitate my arguments, so you run!", but that's fine with me - I don't jump at it. I will however observe whether it becomes more constructive, at which point I could be enticed to tie on again. But I'd wager you don't care, do you?
  16. Well, that is something I can work with. First of all let me say, that I don't agree that this would be any more of a problem than now. While I do aknowledge that there are some very resilient people out there, that are bored by seemingly nothing, they are also not in any kind of a majority. I'm playing this game since Beta, without an interruption. I'm a premium member ever since SWTOR went live and as said, I grinded my way to the last tier of PvP gear pre 2.0 and am still grinding new PvP gear. I have a considerable amount of PvP matches behind me and still never saw such behaviour on two servers (server merge) once. I also have yet to hear reports about such players from trusted teammates. Sure, there are people that don't know what to do, so they run around headless or try to be usefull by defending an objective, even though it already is defended. However, whenever I talked to them it pretty quickly got clear to me, that they simply are unsure what they should do and how they should do it. Which leads me to the assumption that a considerable percentage of those people that are claimed to be exploiters, are in reality nothing more than newcomers, that simply are uncertain. Maybe they even don't dare to ask because, let's face it, most times they just get verbally bashed for being new to PvP (same goes for PvE btw. but that's another problem). In short; the perceived problem is very likely blown out of proportion. Furthermore, even if someone grinds commendations by AFKing, the small amount and the time to complete a warzone wouldn't be economical. Maybe for them it would feel like the path of least resistance, but in fact it wouldn't be. Just try to do this for yourself, try to get max PvP equip (with the mods you need for your class/playstyle) by just AFKing. The amount of time you needed for that would be insane! But ... as said, sure there are some very resilient people. Just not a lot of them. Anyway, I have to state this again; in any given system there inevitably will be some idiots/exploiters. It can't be however the general idea to withhold an otherwise sane system from the majority of legit players because of some people that love to misuse things. If that was the case, no body of laws and no rules of a game would come to pass. That goes for the rules which are in place right now as well... Having said that, I will try to provide a solution for this concern, even though I don't think it would be that grave as predicted here. So, what do we do with AFK exploiters? The obvious solution would be to provide for a vote-kick-option. I have to remind you that such an option is already implemented. Someone said it wasn't viable (as far as I remember there was no explanation for that once again). That's why I have to assume things. Let's assume not everyone in the group clicks on the kick-button as soon as a request pops up. Well that's unfortunate, but maybe there are good reasons for this person to not do so? That happens in democratic coined countries from time to time... Anyway maybe he overlooked it. So let's tweak this option a bit. A PvP team consists of 8 players. One of them is to be voted for kick. That leaves us with 7 people that decide whether number 8 should be kicked or not. In order to shorten the process and rule out any inability problems, a total of 4 votes for a kick should suffice - since 4 is the majority of 7. Thus the probability to successfully kick an AFK exploiter increases drastically, making the vote-kick-option viable again. Of course, the kicked person would loose any XP, credits, commendations a.s.o. gained during the match. An addition to the afore mentioned could be to further decrease the amount of commendations for people that do nothing. While this is a bit more complex, we could start by ignoring healing done to oneself. If you think about it, it would be just fair, since a DD also can't do damage to himself, thus can't get commendations for it. So, why should a healer get commendations for healing himself somewhere in the botany? Granted there would still be commendations for defending an objective. But that can't be helped, because if there wouldn't be any, legit defenders were in a disadvantage - big time. The question would arise: why should they defend in the first place, when the reward is leaving the match empty-handed? I have to stress here, this mere fact - this mechanism itself that provides fairness - bares within it the seed of exploitation. It isn't preventable, no matter which system is in place. You have to reward legit defenders, because they are a very vital part of the group play. There isn't any parameter by which the server could decide whether this defender there is legit or not. At least I can't think of any. In any case that still can't be an argument to prevent an overall improvement (also see above). Apart from this you already gain less commendations, if you just defend and never once do a certain amount of damage during a PvP match. I for one think that it's toned down well enough, to make it noticeable harder to obtain PvP gear. I know what I'm talking about, because my main PvP character is a tank and I'm usually entrusted with defending an objective by my teammates. They're thankfull for my contribution and I'm perfectly fine with this, but sometimes it takes me a lot of extra time to get my equip to be honest. I can compare that to healer and DD characters of teammates and I can compare it to occasions when I'm in the thick of battle, have to shield the healer and dish out some damage. I certainly get much more commendations then. So in the end, there wouldn't be much to adjust. EDIT: Uh, thanks, I'm trying hard. Think I got some mean problems with tenses though (apart from other details). ^^'
  17. Please ... explain ... why ... I've done that on more than one occasion. It seems to be constantly ignored though - which is a bit nagging, you know? Keen idea, but why should I do so (again), if the person that mereley claims a problem would arise or worsen didn't explain why? See, I know how this works, you're telling me nothing new here. However, you fail to see that it isn't me who is in zugzwang. They ignore, they claim, they don't provide explanations, they troll. It's a bit one-tracked here, sorry. No it isn't valid, because (again) it's a problem that exists right now and has nothing to do with "get rid of Expertise". It's just a sleight of hand that tries to distract from the main point. And again,... *sigh*... there is no explanation provided as to why my suggestion would worsen the situation. If there was one, I would answer to it. Maybe I overlooked it? Simple quote would do the trick then. That's how it should be, but to be honest, I don't think it is here. I rather get the feeling some people will defend BW no matter what. They don't seem to be open to arguments or new systems. And somehow they don't work on a suggestion but try to find every tiny bit of a problem that could arise, while not listening to the solutions. Instead they frown and stultify. That's called "deconstructive" and at this point I usually loose hope that such people intend something good. I hope you can reenact that somehow. Granted, it could be just my bad English, so they maybe don't understand me correctly. Then again there seem to be others who understand me just fine. I don't know...
  18. Just wanted to jump in to say that 3 friends of mine and myself experience the same issue regularly since 2.0 (on Vanjervalis Chain). It is a clear difference to how it was before. Given the amount of people that report this issue on different servers, it is simply impossible that there is no bug at all. Your numbers are wrong. Either there is some kind of mistake in your calculations or in your way of recording or you're not observing it under the same conditions as actual players do. Or maybe you want to cover something up from the past. After all, let's be honest, it wouldn't be the first thing you screw up.
  19. Fury is right. No system is perfect and as said there inevitably will be idiots/exploiters from time to time. The thing that bothers me however is, that some people (aside from trolling and not reading) try to bring up problems that exist right now as an argument against this suggestion here. That's just an invalid way to argue. Point at these problems, but be fair and aknowledge that they are here already and in no way triggered by non-existent Expertise. BW has to fix them, right, but that has nothing to do with the get-rid-of-expertise-thing. AFK players are your concern? Use the vote-kick-option. Vote-kick-option doesn't work? Wish for a fix. Vote-kick is useless as it is now? Wish for a change. Vote-kick will never be viable? Wish for a better auto-kick option. Auto-kick is BS? Bring up another solution. And so on. Should be obvious that my suggestion isn't the reason for these problems, so they can't serve as an argument against it.
  20. You do realize, that the Eradicator set isn't plain black? There are red stripes and almost everything beneath the robe is partly blueish, partly grayish. Look at the pants or the sleeves for example. Furthermore any headware is most likely to get red passages as well, as soon as you use the color option. If you can't see this your display settings aren't correct.
  21. No separation at all. How often do I have to repeat myself? Also, see FuryoftheStars' answer. I'm sorry you didn't read the posts, so I stopped there as well. No, they won't afk warzones. 1. They never did. 2. There is a vote kick option in WZs. Probably you didn't know ... 3. What would be the fun for them? Stop seeing vast minorities as majorieties. No system will prevent the appearance of idiots from time to time. It's all about legit players. BW has to give us means to handle them. But that's a completely different topic. It can't be an argument to prevent an otherwise sane system. Also, see FuryoftheStars' quote. See, if I wouldn't break you posts "into a zillion bits", the next thing you do is complain about, that I didn't give an answer to all the points you brought up. Well, but here you go. ;-)
  22. ^This. People who speak about active and non-active accounts in a F2P game don't understand how F2P works account-wise. Anyone can have multiple accounts, at any time. That goes for legit players as well as china farmers and so on. Open up an account, let it untouched for a few months. Is it active? No? Whoops, you just logged in? Active now? Yes? Whoops, gone for a few more months? So, what is this account now, active or not? How could anyone measure this? 2 million new accounts is keen and all that, but uh ... how many of these accounts are actually in use and generate money? And of those that generate money, how much do they generate? What's the sum? <-- That's the important question in a F2P game. In any case, overall EA (BW is part of it) isn't doing great. They just had to close another studio recently.
  23. No, I'm not. MMOs that have an extra PvP stat, are in the vast minority. I don't believe that so many people are insane, do you? Maybe you should think about it again. Anyway you wrapped it up here real good, but in the next paragraph it goes boooooom again. Why? Seriously, what is wrong with you? Where do you pull that "stat difference" from all of a sudden? What freakin' stat difference? There wouldn't be any, don't you get it? I expect nothing from PvPers, except that they do whatever they like. You constantly keep babbling about how they would have to do PvE. ***, why? - PvE players gain PvE commendations via PvE content and buy equip with these. - PvP players gain PvP commendations via PvP content and buy (the same) equip with these. What is so hard to grasp here? Why the hell would anyone have to switch playstyles here? 1. I have grinded to Elite War Gear before 2.0. 2. I am still grinding the new PvP gear after 2.0. 3. No, I'm not under the assumption that PvPers don't want to have progress. That is why my suggestions still has gear to obtain in it - even though that too wouldn't be necessary, but let's just leave it at this. 4. What the hell ... ? 5. What's this thing about bolster you're talking about there? I don't want any bolstering of Expertise! That's the whole purpose of this thread here. I want BW to get rid of it, because of the above mentioned points and because they're fiddling and fumbling with it and fall flat on their noses. Why do such a thing, if you could just delete it? Why waste resources on it? Why risk anger with it? Can BW, can SWTOR afford this? No! The simple fact, that you cannot comprehend that I'm not trying to do such a thing states everything. Anyway, if you think all this leads to nothing, why do you participate in this discussion? Maybe your dog knows the answer ... No, I don't think that's just a screw up. Yeah, well, I mean, it is a screw up, but one you can use to slow down your playerbase. That doesn't make it any better, though.
  24. This business practice won't go away, as long as there a people who buy these packs (en masse). They will try to keep the yield as low as possible at any given opportunity. The only effective way to voice your discontent is by not buying. Provided enough people refrain from it. Sadly, that's extremely rarely the case.
