  1. I went back to playing COH as I enjoy the gameplay a lot more than I do in TOR. Im gonna give this game another go though. There might be something to the fact that COH was my first mmo ever and thus it holds a special place in my heart. Ive tried many others but I always end up going back to coh (I must be one of the few who cant stand the fantasy genre of elves and dwarves and the like). Anyone think that its a difficult (possibly impossible) task to unseat those mmo's that hold a special place in our hearts? I was hoping TOR would, but...
  2. Hmmm. Well, this will be my last ditch effort so to speak to enjoy this game. I think Im going to try to not do all of the sidequests, and only those that interest me. Then at least Im not stuck doing things I dont want to do. And Ive heard IA is decent so Im gonna go that route. The consular story was... lackluster.
  3. Weird question. Obvious answer is 'go try it'. I would like to be able to play this game without doing any sidequests, warzones, or other stuff that detracts from the main storyline, as I find the main storyline becomes lost within a sea of things that I am not interested in and thus I lose interest in playing. I believe I tried this for a bit but had leveling issues. Anyone had any luck with this? I'm gonna give it a go. Its kind of too bad as I feel 90% of the side stuff is not interesting but there's that 10% that is that I would end up missing. I suppose I could exert some self control and abandon the stuff that I care nothing about. Thoughts? Experience?
  4. I am in agreement (unfortunately) with the OP. I absolutely love star wars, but lately I have noticed that I am playing less. I just dont have any interest. I lvled my consular to cap, tried other classes/factions but for me the gameplay is just not very much fun. And that really sucks because I really *really* want to love this game. But as the OP said, its just the same old same old. The main story feels soooo disjointed that it doesnt compel me to see whats next. The IA story was going well but the gameplay did it in for me. Its just not engaging Makes me sad because I really want it to be. Im gonna keep my sub goin though for I think about six months at the least as I will want to check it out once in awhile and see whats happening. There's just no mystery or intrigue in this game and again, makes me sad.
  5. I have quite enjoyed the world pvp and have seen many an empire player, especially on alderaan, tattoine, and Hoth. What i like is that right now its not so common place to make it expected and boring, its at that sweet spot where I am leery as I travel as I know I may or may not see someone. If I saw someone all the time I dont think Id like that, and vice versa. So far Im pleased. Im just a regular gamer though, I dont get too wrapped up in percentages and balance and all that. Not yet anyways. Each time I do engage in world pvp I have enjoyed myself immensely.
  6. People, the mish in question is for consulars only. Unless Im mistaken. The mish is Attis station. Fighting three 'strong' sith in one group is not 'easy'. Nor is one elite, one strong, and one normal. The issue is that its very different than what is faced in all other mishs from lvls 1-36. I aint sayin change it, I enjoy the challenge. Creative fighting.
  7. I think this is the issue. Its one mish in particular, multiple silvers with gold and sith. Those nanobots do help, yes. That one mish is def a challenge FOR SURE. When I walked into that room and saw one gold, with one silver and one normal in one grp I thought to myself... huh? Its called 'attis station'. Guarantee thats the one: http://www.torhead.com/mission/fpFEix
  8. I just got to Quesh tonight with my balanced Jedi Shadow and yup, I noticed a huge spike in difficulty. Before I was always fighting a strong and two weak and am fine. But now its three strong. Or one strong, one easy and one elite. On top of that they were sith. It was insanely difficult. To pass it, I ended up turning off Quizan's aoe (which he still used at times), mind maze one strong, then focus attacks on other strong that quizan also decided to attack to get him down, then kill other strong, by that time the other strong is unmezzed and tries to kill so i force cloak out, regen, then kill last strong. However. If Quizan uses his ability that I unchecked, Im screwed. Quizan dies in seconds and I follow suite. Its tough, and frustrating at times, but its really making me focus on my play style and try different things. Realistically, my style is more suited to sage but I didnt have enough forsight to choose that at 10, but thats cool. In short, I think the difficulty spike does exist on quesh for a jedi shadow. Its fine, just weird. Wasnt gradual, like say two strong. Just right from one to three, and in sith form.
  9. I noticed this as well but honestly its not a big deal, as long as the animations line up and they do. Didnt notice the snipe thing.
  10. I am teetering between bored and excited. I absolutely love star wars. But right now, I feel more like a maintenance droid/errand boy than a jedi. My issue is with the sidequests. They feel like typical sidequests. I am playing a jedi consular right now and am at lvl 16. It feels like the main quest is maybe 3-4 missions drowning in a sea of 20 missions asking me to fix this or talk to this person, or get my girlfriend back or blablabla. I dont understand why the sidequests cant be a bit more intriguing. I realize I can say no to the sidequests (and I will start to do so) but I didnt want it to come to that. Anyways, thats my issue right now. I dont mind the combat etc and things are more fun when you team up. Flashpoints are fun. So are the heroic missions. Coruscant without sprint was... painful. But the sidequests are like eating dry turkey with no gravy, stuffing or mashed potatoes. Justa big ol' plate of dry-*** turkey.
  11. Gamestop did me that way too. Otherwise I'd have been july 21. But Im enjoying the buildup. I enjoy the whole waiting/"hyping myself into incontinence" that comes with a game release.
  12. I think I just lol'd all over myself. Thats gotta equate to maybe 3 full minutes of early access? Nice!
  13. Just curious where he found her. I'd love to meet a gal into this kind of stuff. Or would I...
  14. Question: How does one find a wife who likes Star Wars and would actually be interested in playing this game? Was she flying on a winged unicorn slaying dragons with Mjolnir at the end of a triple rainbow??
  15. 07.28.2011 Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Collector's Edition Pre-Order I did not get an invite today. Im hoping tomorrow! My two cents: People are passionate about their Star Wars <- Captain Obvious, but had to be said.
