  1. It's exciting how every time I try to load a cutscene I get to play the RNG to see if I'll crash to desktop or just not have any UI. Drop rate is much better than on Cartel Packs though. (maybe it's just Makeb, it's my first time doing this. Is it the same as Alderaan? because that's basically a crash-fest for me every time I have to go to the place)
  2. I think it's too high, I think nearly all the prices on the Cartel Market are too high though. Cosmetic items shouldn't cost so much. Theoretically, I can see why the price is what it is, in comparison to Hypercrates. But unless a dozen or more people hit up my referral link I'm not going to even consider it at this price. I do think it might be a good idea going forward for the higher ticket items in packs to also be sold separately at a high price, but retroactively introducing a Platinum item for direct sale can lead to anger. Anger leads to hate, etc. I personally feel £5 to be around the most that seems right for a single outright purchase of a cosmetic item in a real money shop. More than that feels like greed. I buy Cartel Packs because I enjoy the pack opening experience (it's exciting! ) and I can get a bunch of items that I can sell on as well as ones I want to use. Of late the packs have been a little lacking in "must-have" armours but I've rarely been overly disappointed by a Hypercrate purchase. Maybe because I already looked what was in the most recent and didn't buy one and because I got a few nice golds and decorations in the Stalwart Leader, in amongst piles of terrible bronze gear. The Grand Nightlife Pack was the best of the recent bunch. Good armours, in a healthy drop rate, and good extras too. More like that please, and offer new Platinums for a direct sale, at a lower cost than this Saber, but still enough to maybe make people consider the packs viable for a gamble.
  3. Have 2 or 3 sets of this from the Nightlife pack from last week, so was a bit surprised to see it for direct sale. The ridiculous price was also somewhat surprising. Didn't check later to see of it was available still, but I trust Dulfy more than the in game market menu at this point so we'll no doubt see it soon. Maybe just a glitch.
  4. More clothing is always good. New styles, even better. To the OP's point, there are the relaxed Tracksuit and similar tops that have banded arms. Bare chest on a male but female characters get a nice tube top. However...as someone with a Cartel Stash full of bronze trash items from the last couple packs (especially the Stalwart Leader) I'd heavily dispute the fact that all new clothing introduced is rare. I'm trying to recruit friends into the game just so I can give some of that away!
  5. I've been getting them, and only did my first Star Fortresses after 5.0. After being lvl 70 for a while it was somewhat bamboozling to get rewards for doing something, I almost wondered if I'd stumbled onto an alt at first.
  6. I don't get it. All companions are basically the same these days, gameplay-wise. Okay, there's ranged or melee, but that's just about it. If you don't like one's yabbering, swap them for another one that either has a more pleasing voice, or doesn't squawk quite as much? That said, if it wasn't super-complicated, and didn't break tons of other parts of the game when tested, I wouldn't be opposed to it, since at least 2 more people than I'd have thought actually want it.
  7. It's funny how little time interacting with this game would make any normal person realise that such a suggestion is highly unlikely due to the way the game is designed, never mind the way's it would be open to abuse and therefore restricted by Bioware/EA even before hitting a Disney lawyer's inbox.
  8. how many "RNGesus hates you!" Holocrons would we have to open?
  9. I still find the most exciting and random issue the loading to a space station, to run down a corridor, and load from a lift, into the station itself, to run across the station, to get into a shuttle, to a load screen, to get to a planet. Given how often my game can crash on loading screens, this truly is the most exciting RNG aspect of the game!
  10. Costume tabs for the looks. Using either collections of Alliance Crate BOL gear. Just pick up whatever's offered from drops or quest rewards that's better than what I have. Did just start a Jedi Knight though, and very quickly got him some spare trash orange sabers from my pack stash to use instead of the kendo glow sticks. Bought mods first time I made it to Fleet, but now I've unlocked his colour crystals I might just use whatever drops. I've not really felt much need so far to be honest.
  11. would be nice to see this back, never got a chance at it. The other events I've done have been fun, I kinda wish this would get put into rotation with the Rakgoul and Bounty Hunter events.
  12. Hi, welcome back! I was in a similar situation to yourself a few months back. SWTOR was like a gym membership to me, I kept paying, but not going. Eventually started back up again and had loads of coins to spend. I bought species unlocks, some stronghold stuff and the cosmetic items I figured I'd get the most use out of. The Going Places pack is recommended too, for the Rocket Boots perk. Ostensibly a run boost, it gives you mount speed for a short while but works in places you can't mount. Quite useful for running back and forth to quest givers inside some areas. As to what to flip on the market for decent credits...I've found I tend to do better buying stuff I want relatively cheap compared to selling stuff I don't want for decent prices, but have enjoyed opening Hypercrates and getting lucky with stuff to sell. Get a lot of junk that way. As a direct swap for credits you'll likely make more selling the unopened crates, in general. That said I've seen a lot more cheaper Cartel Coin items sell for more. If some popular YouTubers are to be believed the Command XP Boosts are a better return on investment. Best thing to do is check out the GTN on your server, see what stuff commands a high price, although the rarest items aren't things you can buy directly, so look at what you can buy, and try to see what sells. That part is difficult, but generally if theres 2-3 pages of results you're unlikely to make anything above the middle ground, even if you horde things for a while. If you want to sell quick, see what's coming up with results all within the same range of pricing, and sell for a tiny bit less. For unlocking outfits across characters, you do need the full outfit. And Cartel Coins. Once you collect a full outfit, or other item (crystals, weapons, etc) you can duplicate that to your heart's desire on the character you unlock it (as I have with armour on my trooper, so all of Havoc Squad share the same uniform) but you pay a CC cost to allow other characters to do the same. It varies by rarity. Gold items or sets need (IIRC) 400 CC, Silvers need 240 and Bronze only need 60. I've build up a decent amount of unlocked outfits but that was down to the surplus of Coins I had around Xmas and the half-price special for unlocking. I've grudged unlocking more than Bronze stuff since then.
  13. I've been busy lately. My Jedi Guardian (I suppose she's my main now, since she's the most progressed through the content) has been doing crafting. Which was only mildly interesting until I realised the crafted gear looks different on Dark Side characters from Light Side ones, so now I can make some cool outfits for my Sorcerer! Also been delving into Star Fortresses as her, at first just for the Legacy gear but the decorations drops are nice too, as I've been trying to make my Coruscant and Dromund Kass places look a bit less spartan compared to my Nar Shadda one. Unlocked all but the three living quarters upstairs for Coruscant I think. Put the two VIP lounge vendor statues outside with a Zakuul fountain on the landing pad. Kinda want the Makeb Gazebo but none on GTN. As my Jedi is an Alliance Commander I've kitted out the first big room as a command centre, with Republic troops, Rusk and Jorgan giving advice to the unnamed cannon fodder and some weapons racks. Funny yo think I'd initially dismissed the Stronghold stuff as pointless fluff, but am actually quite enjoying it now. I guess getting loads of Decorations in packs has helped encourage that. Well done Bioware! Sold my Senya's Pike and Revan's Mask, which funded a lot of armour set purchases and a few of the more interesting cheaper (I.e. Non-creature) mounts. Got plenty of stuff to go around my alts to make them all feel distinct now. With the bonus xp boost at the moment I'm wanting to get through some more of the class storylines. So I've started a Knight from scratch. Since my boosted one was full light side, I've decided the new guy will be Dark As Floop! There's no slow build in the DS choices is there? I'm snagging and murdering everyone and I've not even left Typhon yet! Also worked my way through the Shadow Of Revan arc as my Sorcerer. Really liked Rishi. Gonna have to do that on my Smuggler once I get him through Makeb. Haven't touched Orion, I suppose that should be my next port of call for the Sith, but I'm tempted to go back and do Ilum as she's not been there yet. Kinda want to do it all as her now that she's 70 and sticking to vanilla. I'm earning the CXP but damned if I'm starting KOTFE and losing access to all the other stuff I've yet to do. Mostly levelled her with Class Story and FPs and Heroics. Did the Revanite story on DK and the Dread Masters arc on Belsavis but left a whole lot of stuff for her to go back to. And I've a Trooper I've been neglecting, and an Agent I just started who's done nothing but the opening cutscenes and went to a Stronghold to try on outfits. And I have an exciting idea for a Bounty Hunter (based on an armour set that looks like the Predator film's titular character) and I kinda fancy using the Unstable Dualsaber I picked up on some character or another...jeez, altaholics anonymous meeting is when?
  14. Thanks for the advice. I think doing it without the buffs is beyond me at the moment. Add it to the list... Played through a Story mode Star Fortress tonight and enjoyed that fine. I think it's cool how the map is always a bit different and how the bosses drop decorations. Have unlocked the hard mode of the Tattooine one now so that might be the next one I do as a challenge. They're an interesting departure for my Jedi to tackle.
  15. When I was recruiting Bowdar. I'll go back and try again once I've got more influence on a companion.
  16. Been playing mostly solo since I came back to the game. Boosted a Jedi Guardian to play through the new expansions and enjoyed them. Been working through a class story I've not done, and got plenty more to do. But remembered the Star Fortress stuff on my boosted character and played through the solo mode a couple of times. Got the mission to do the Heroic 2+ version, and after figuring out that means Veteran now, I gave it a go tonight. Did Hoth. Very fun, very challenging. Felt really pleased with myself when I finished it. There's not much solo content in the game that I've cone across so far that's felt as difficult and I died quite a lot, but the checkpoints in the final battle(s) were nice and forgiving. Thank-you Bioware. I'll be back for more of this soon.
  17. Wow. I'd be really nice if everyone could read this. Here, we have someone who asked a question about a system in the game, a controversial one at that, and has read replies and taken others' opinions into consideration and accepted their viewpoints, even if they don't fit into his particular style of play. Bravo, sir. Bravo.
  18. That's what the pack "may" contain. One of those sets. When first hearing about it I stupidly thought it was going to be some pack that contained all those old outfits for a bargain price, maybe as a way of dropping the GTN prices for those items. Stupid? Naive? Yeah, I suppose. It's basically just a grand chance cube with a very small loot pool.
  19. I get your point, and I'm a casual solo player for the most part myself, but flipping it the other way, if the last 2 years had only delivered new ops and warzones, with 3 or 4 heroics that took us maybe an hour to do alone, I'd be unhappy. So I can see where those who prefer to primarily team up for group content are a bit justified in their outrage. Being as the story is my favourite aspect of the game the idea of running increasingly harder versions of the same missions time and again in order to get better gear to run yet harder versions of that same content baffles me, but those players might see me logging in and browsing the collections tabs trying different pieces on to make a great looking outfit as an equally big waste of time. Hell, at least the Ops players might (possibly, if the RNG gods are kind) end up with something to show for their efforts. There has been only the tiniest amount of new group content provided. It's not that the old stuff has been taken away. Heck, with the unassembled gear, and PVP cxp Vs solo cxp divide, multiplayer stuff has been, if not vocally, certainly financially encouraged in 5.0 and 5.1. It's just there's been very little new content to support that.
  20. Given how collections stuff is almost entirely cosmetic (Companions maybe not so much, at least when starting a new character) I feel the price for unlocking them is too high. To be fair, I feel the cost in CC Vs Real Money is too high in general but it seems particularly bad if someone has just paid $40 for a Hypercrate, been lucky and got a platinum and a couple of golds and then has to spend another $15 to be able to use them across other characters. As it is now I find myself sticking stuff in my bank because I'm not yet sure which toon I want to use it on.
  21. Sign me up for this. Letting us put weapons in outfit slots might put more value on them. Swapping out mods is fine, but not all designs have them, and sometimes it would be nice to be able to match them to outfits more easily. I might be a force user wanting to wield a vibroblade when I get to Rishi and am mistaken for a pirate, or starting an Imperial Agent and want to use a different looking weapon when I swap armour for going undercover as the Red Blade.
  22. Yep, that's pretty much how I see it. Would love to be able to unlock my Rishi pirate gear on a lower level character, or at least some of the lower level sets. I've got pages of Cargo Hold space filled with low level gear in case I want to use it in an outfit.
