I'm a level 47 Slinger, Sharp shooter specced. I put all my points in Shaprshooter first, and left the other trees alone, 31/3/7 distribution. Once I had Bowdaar as a companion, Corso did nothing but run crafting missions. It's great to see that big guy toss people around. Risha was next, until I got Guss. Definitely gear your companions, they can/are life savers. Another thing I did while leveling early on, was to kill mobs whenever possible. No sneaking around, just shoot them dead. Great way to get to a higher level to make a quest boss AND elites easier to take out. And yes, space missions are easy XP and can help you show up a few levels higher at a particular planet. Say you are going to Tatooine and the range is 21 - 24. Show up as a 23.

Thanks for the info GZ! I never thought to use crouch to hide behind something. I have been waiting for "gumby" to show up or just "take cover in place". This will come in handy as i am in the mountains in Belsavus, usually fighting 4 - 6 mobs at a time when not in the tunnels. Yep ... i kill as much as possible, figure it's a good way to practice some strats for fighting. I have noticed that when you are moving up on some mobs, "gumby" pops up in a suggested place or two for cover. other times, or most of the time, no "gumby". Would be nice if when you targeted a mob, "gumby" would pop up in a desired location. Is that possible, or is that too much "hand holding"? One more question ... why doesn't "gumby" show up more often than he currently does? Thanks in advance!

I agree that Mal is probably the prototype smuggler. Killed a few when he's had to, yet been warmhearted and caring to others. Pretty much everything he dished out is how I've played my Slinger so far. Sure Risha or Bowdaar are a bit upset, give them a shiny and they soon forget.

My Mirialan female Slinger made out with Skavak just before she killed him! She'd done the same with a few quest givers as well. One thing about the female Slinger, she rarely says what the text says for your choices. I've had some very funny surprises!

Fellow Slinger here. Don't feel bad, I didn't realize my Companions task bar had extra attacks on it until I hit 36. But yes, orange gear and guns are your friend. Mods are sometimes tough to come by unless you're in a guild or know a few crafters. My two Rancor-X pistols have over 375 damage at level 43 now. Most of my gear is equal to or at least on par with identically leveled gear. A word of advise, if you find an ORANGE Belt or Bracers, you can make a tidy profit ... as long as you have a set already equipped. I STILL can't find an orange belt. I'm on Jung-Ma Republic.

Is that the Class Quest on Hoth? I can't get near the consoles because e veryone is 45 and higher. I'm at 42. Any suggestions? I'd like to see them fix the mapping on Hoth. It's damn tough getting to a few of the quests.

I might be wrong here ... but doesn't rolling into cover give us stronger, more stealthy protection than cover in place? I think CHARGED BURST needs to be an all-the-time ability and not just a cover spec ability. THAT would make us more like the gunslinger in the cinematic. I can understand AIMED SHOT and SABOTAGE CHARGE being cover only. I'm at work right now, but what other of our abilities requires cover besides AIMED SHOT, CHARGED BURST and SABOTAGE CHARGE?

There is a black version? I would prefer that over the grey. Where did you find a black version? I have a Mirialan wearing it and it's grey. And TRUE ...wearing this on Hoth would definitely give you some glass cutters.

Did you talk to Risha after talking to Corso?

I can verify this as that is what I experienced yesterday. My only questions is .... when i give Torchy to Corso, does that become his main weapon? I have both showing in my inventory, with Torchy labeled as Corso only. If I can get the scoped model of the a-300 in a later quest, I will use those two. Otherwise I am going after a pair of m-305 Rancro-X

It seems most guns are as follows: Armor=endurance/cunning, Mod=endurance/cunning, Enhancement=endurance/crit, usually. As for the Color Crystal, should it be Endurance or Crit? I'm a Gunslinger.

The M-305 Rancor-X and the tral-tech Needler look like guns a smuggler/gunslinger would use. The scoped pistols seem to lean towards a scoundrel. Reason being, I don't think you are going to use two scoped handguns for laying down a lot of fire, quickdraw someone or wack'em in the head with a sighted in gun. I'm headed to Balmorra so I'll save my comms and get two M-305 Rancor-xes ... unless i do the jedi prisoner quest and repeat it. I can get the needlers there....

There is an Orange vest with the hood down. It's a midriff vest style, at least on female characters. At work so I can't give you exact name. Just checked torhead.com ...wow...work didn't block it. Anyway ...this is it ... http://www.torhead.com/item/6L5mA3G/aspiring-knights-vest I like it better than a robe. It has some stuff thats around your waist and thighs. It's cheap, pick it up and try it on! I think Robes AND capes should be a seperate piece like they do it in Age of Conan. That way you could hide it ... just like headgear.

good to know ... I acutally thought about it but hadn't been able to try it. I wouldn't mind the slave gear for my Sentinel ...but I know she'll loose some umph with only light instead of medium armor.

Which Social gear are you referring to? You don't mean the orange dancer gear .... do you???
