  1. It's not a terrible build, although within the 36 points you allocate in sharpshooter you have bit of flexibility. I think that was waht I was using in that tree for a while (really like knockback on aimed shot) however sometimes i'll pass on distraction and aimed shot knockback for the increased ranged defense after exiting cover (get some extra passive damage mitigation, make healers' lives easier, if i know i won't be using those abilities). One of my friends I think raided with that allocation of 7 points saboteur tree for a 10% flyby damage boost, however I tend to use 36-3-7 as outlined in this guide in the gunslinger forums. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=657177 ^That guide is a really good resource for playing sharphooter and therein he makes the case for the 36-3-7 rather than 36-7-3 buffing vital shot to maximize dps. Ultimately knowing you class, abilities, and the fights and making appropriate decisions will lead you to the best results, and if you find the extra energy from middle tree helps you avoid burnout, that's another potential perk. The rotation is pretty natural and eventually comes down to the fact that you have 1 spare/unscripted GCD between your aimed shots, and choosing the correct filler to go into that slot, be it vital shot, sabotage charge, flourish shot, or your basic flurry of bolts to manage your energy.
  2. The reduced cd on Grenades in sab is a nice boost early on... Leveled a sniper pure marksman(sharpshooter) and then forced myself to leek saboteur on my slinger. Especially once you hit 30 an get trickshot SS is a but stronger for average leveling because your best ability from talents (TS) is used almost every 5 or 6 seconds while the buff sabotage charge gets in sab tree is awesome the 25 sec cool down means you aren't using it nearly as much as abilities that don't receive the same buff they do in SS. Sab is a lot of fun but IMO sharpshooter will be more effective
  3. Just thought I'd echo this again. The RNG on this implant, in particular, is infuriating. My main is a tank, and my raid group, since tanks cannot buy implants with at least the proper stat allocation, has prioritized tanks getting their implants. However, with people's schedules and life agro, I jump around to heal, or will PUG into or raid on my alts with other teams. Without fail, I consistently see implants when not on my main. I dont' think implants need to be legacy passable or anything, but good lord it's been 2 months of belt on my main, implants on alts. There really has to be some sort of better solution somewhere... As a side note, if anyone on POT5 is having trouble getting their implants for their raid group and wants to use the RNG gods laughing at me to help gear our their group. Bumped for justice.
  4. OP you are obviously biased... You didn't even mention that they can heal themselves for free on the run! It's bad enough that they can run away from me an do damage but then heal themselves after?? It's insulting and tbh when I see a sorc on other side I just quit to avoid rage damaging my rig. I don't know how something so OP can be blatantly ignored. (Btw I give this thread 7/10 already. Much potential there is in this one)
  5. I think the link from dulfy said 400 or 500 CCs which seems to me that'd mean we can buy it directly rather than needing to rely on RNG gods from a pack
  6. Another thing you can try to hit Trin up ingame one of his mains is trinthia, or feel free to shoot a mail to quohrin and I'll keep an eye out for you ingame to toss a ginvite as well
  7. So I have a Guardian, PT, and sin tank, with the guardian and PT both being biochem for the purpose of being able to use reusable adrenals basically at will as extra cooldowns (particularly for the PT it's nice to give him an extra one). When 2.0 first dropped, I leveled my guardian (my main) to 55, got up his biochem and with glee learned the new shiny reusable nano-infused adrenal, which works as a buff to shield and absorb. One of my guildmates who tanks on an imp alt however said that number crunching had revealed the old rakata absorb adrenals, which are a boost to armor rating, to still be superior. Hunted around on the forums and was unable to find anything, but as I'm looking to use my sin and PT a little more, and want to perform my best on the guardian, could anybody confirm/deny this nasty rumor? In summation: 1.) Which absorb adrenal (rakata or nano-infused) would be best for each tank? 2.) How are the buffs from these adrenals calculated (I.e. for a sin do i just get a buff off of my base shield/absorb rating and that is added to whatever buff i get from dark ward or can it multiply off of dark ward? Same for the PT as heat screen/heat blast build up)
  8. TAW's empire side has a Tuesday Thursday late night raid that starts at midnight typically. You could shoot the team leader an email at emmilash@taw.net or in game on mamika and she could tell you more specifically what her needs are currently.
  9. On empire side, the emperor's hand team is looking for a dedicated tank as they work through progressing HM DP, current schedule is Tuesday/Thursday/Monday 8:30 pm EST to 11pm. Contact teh fireteam leader erunian via erunian@taw.net or ingame on striker-nine Additionally, we're excited as a guild for the content rolling out over the next month, we're organizing teams for those interested in galactic starfighter to get regular squads in the air on both sides, supported with leadership and chain of command just like all of our other areas of structure. And the return of the rakghoul event should be pretty great too!:rak_03:
  10. Why not kill 2 birds with one stone, have a new class to try to work in and balance (or just tell to H2F) and then also have mirror faction class stories to flesh out in their entirety!?!? Some really great options getting votes in there.
  11. Isn't the solution just transferring to the bastion?
  12. might be even worse at forum PVP than open world
  13. what about maintaining their presence on the first boss, probably as a guaranteed drop because as said earlier, that's a lot of implants needed to min/max out a consistent raid group, and then as a bonus either put an implant on bestia or the implant/bracer/belt RNGfest on bestia. Rewards those team when they farm and helps them min/max in preparation for nightmare modes with either more good mods for min maxing (at least for the poor despised tanks) or implants. But to have it on farm status and still struggle so much to min/max because you might not even get the implant to drop? Methinks it's goofy. What's the alternative? Use alts and split your starters up for first fight?

  15. On a related note, will 75's become craftable with 2.4 when it drops?
  16. Easiest way IMO would be to just go ahead, jump on teamspeak and either find somoene down int he star wars channels (we're at the bottom of the server) and ask to be moved, either that or get in the applicant needs bootcamp channel in public channels and one of the people who watches those things will find out where you're trying to go and then get one of us down in the star wars channels to pull you on down. That way regardless of DI's being online or not you can at least get in touch with people, hang out in teamspeak, and we'll have plenty of people on doing stuff so ginvite shouldn't be a problem.
  17. ^sound advice above. While I leveled my character heal spec all the way and never even tried the DPS trees until 55, TBH since you're going for willpower/power anyhow, you can level pretty effectively and have decent damage production with the core abilities. Getting telekinetic wave (particularly once you're high enough up the tele tree to get buffed damage and free/insta proccing) is fun and makes things go fast, but if you want to get into flashopints quickly as a healer and do it with regularity, either look into field respec or stay heals. if you are more structured with your time and set aside time you won't be queued for, you can always use the free respec in combat training to jump back and forth. I will say, being healer I feel had edges to some of the tougher fights during the story. Being able to dot the boss, let your companion do some work, and offer some pain yourself helps more than either kill everything before your tank comp dies or hope you can crush/interrupt the boss enough for tharan to keep up (I find myself disappointed by companion healers in lots of cases) TL;DR, don't be afraid to level heals, while you won't pop faces as easily as you would in a pure DPS build with burst, the survivability will help when soloing content and you'll be sure to have the tools to be effective as a healer in FP's
  18. With new operations and structural change to PVP slated to drop in the next month- now is a great time to jump in with a guild with strong leadership and structure which gives us great stability and staying power. We've got a great community foundation in TAW and our leaders are passionate about their areas of responsibility and want to provide the guild with the best experience possible. We'll be getting ourselves ready to hit the ground running, so why not make TAW your new home in SWTOR?
  19. Server; Hedarr Soongh Toons: Andrik, Quohrin Hedarr Soongh -> Fatman -> POT5
  20. So some of that would be because our PVE teams we've pushed them to operate on thier own schedule and given the team leaders the flexibility to set their hours and change as is necessary or appropriate, so the website might not reflect that well currently. Tuesday thursdays are our big scheduled raid nights. On Empire side we have a group that's running T/R 8:30 working through HMs, and then a latenight group that runs those same nights around midnight that is further along in progression, has full cleared S&V HM and I believe got to 5/5 TFB HM this week but I'm not 100% certain. On top of that then there is weekend friday and/or saturday casual ops for emp side.
  21. Great job republic progression! Took down Dread Guards in NiM TFB tonight! We're still looking for a few more dedicated members to expand our team up to a 16man team to hopefully have a clear roster for the new ops droping with 2.4, feel free to either PM me through here or msg me ingame on Andrik- would like to have a dedicated sage healer added in for our 16 man roster. We enjoy raiding and on top of our scheduled nights where right now we aim to work NiM progresion and have a HM finishing off gear with some room for a few guests
  22. In terms of specific recruiting for our republic side progression- I'd really like to get another dedicated skilled sage healer for our team as we build towards 16. Ideally I want to have a clear idea of what our 16man roster will be (both starters and ideally maybe 3 or 4 reserves because RL agro does happen) by beginning of September as we work on our NiM progression so that we can have some time to gel and be ready to hit the ground running and attack the new ops in October VERY aggressively. In terms of 16man rounding out, I'd also prefer to add another gunslinger, as we're a little melee heavy on DPS, but really what is most important is people who will commit, want to be part of the team, and have the skill and dedication to continually improve and push themselves. We're a fun bunch who enjoys joking and raiding with each other, but when it comes to progression and working new fights, we are dedicated, locked in, serious and wanting to perform our best. Our pub progression team is just one part of the community of TAW- but I think our availability as part of the community and willingness to help out new players or players who want to improve is a real strength for TAW as a whole. PM me here, hit me up ingame on Andrik, or email me at quigonjinnnjuice@taw.net if you'd like to find out more about our progression raiding pub side or have questions about us
  23. You should check out TAW- we're a big guild with both republic and empire factions. We have a very structured leadership that caters to people of all sorts of playstyles and we aim to do it all. You all could find a nice niche as part of our community, and we have the structure and experience that can help you if you're interested in getting into higher level elder game content, learn the ropes in there and have a regular group of people to run with. I'd be happy to talk with you more if you have questions, either VIA PM on here, at quigonjinnnjuice@taw.net, or ingame probably on ghostfase on imp side. Good luck in your search for a guild!
  24. So shogun beat me to the punch but yeah, we'd love to have you in TAW. We raid Tuesday Thursday Friday 8:30 to 11 EST. we're farming TFB HM and s&v HM (including doing them on alt runs) to gear out in 72s whic most of our 8man core is good on. We're also working on the Nim content to see things we need to Practice mechanics wise and are taking down writhing horror Nim weekly. You can hit me up in game on andrik (my sage main) PM me here or email me at QuiGonJinnNJuice@taw.net. Would be happy to talk to you more. I will say also that for our progression team we do have potential members try out bit it sounds as if you have the gear and experience to hang. We're a competitive bunch who enjoys each others company also.. And we definitely want another dedicated healer as we're building up our core to run 16s... We have around 13 right now. Good luck in your search and hope to run with you in the future
  25. So there are a couple interesting guides around that I've found helpful. One I would say not to Insta cast salvation unless you really REALLY REALLY need it. The GCD suffered of an instant cast is longer than your cast time of a 1 or 2 stack salvation. I second psychic suffusion as a must... Used properly its free instant not GCD constrained and when used properly can hit a ton of raid members without disrupting mob placement esp in boss fights. In styrak hard mode I use it on cool down practically. You both raise valid points on force armor. There's a balance to be found. Definitely use it I soften the blow of predictable damage but I don't use it on cool down in people especially not tanks because like you said o **** healing is our weak spot. Can buy time to crank out a conveyanced healing trance or potency buffed deliverance.
