  1. No part of the mask changes colors. Period. Also, it's like Snake Eyes' hood. The mouth never moves when you speak, yet there are clearly defined lips.
  2. This. The vendor should be located somewhere next to your class trainer.
  3. While I can't speak for the developers with regards to their intentions, I did encounter a strange bug on Alderaan the other day while questing with 2 friends. We were all partied up doing the heroic 4 mission to escort and defend the engineers while they download data from some sensor towers. About half way through the battle to defend the guy, I noticed that every one of us still had an active companion and they were all going to town on the mobs. It was probably he most fun I think I've had doing that mission watching 3 companions and 3 players decimate waves of strong and elite mobs. With a bit of balancing or perhaps making better use of their scaling technology they've been using for he new GSI missions, I can honestly see it happening at some point.
  4. It also doesn't become available for your entire stable of characters until you log into one without the set and purchase it for the entire account using CC. You can still acquire multiple, unlimited, bound copies of the set on the character that unlocked it, however.
  5. At this point, pretty much. I don't think they're even worth the credits anymore. That said, the daily space missions are, point for point, some of the highest xp per minute earnings during a double xp weekend provided they're of appropriate level to your character. And those are just the normal ones.
  6. If you don't tank, the weight of the armor being worn doesn't affect you nearly as much. Basically, your armor functions much the same way as your off hand (or main hand for the sage/sorcerer). It's merely a stat stick, albeit one that also provides your basic damage reduction. That said, I would endeavor to acquire adaptive armor in your chosen style if at all possible. Damage reduction may not seem like a big deal for a dps role, but there are many times when you'll find yourself toe to toe with a strong or even elite mob while the real tank is busy elsewhere (intercepting adds going for the healer, for example). Any damage you can avoid is a blessing on your healer since they don't have to split their resources as heavily. Yes, you have abilities and procs for these things, but sometimes **** happens and every little bit helps.
  7. Sinister? What's more sinister than a carebear that kills people?
  8. They weren't intended for range. They use Aim based on the type of archetype they are regardless of weapon proficiencies. The lizard is a tech fighter. Since tech power comes from the aim attribute most specifically, they use that as his main stat. It's the same principle behind snipers using cunning and shadows using willpower over any other seemingly more appropriate stat (aim and strength in these cases). I have a feeling the image you found was an early concept and by no means THE intent behind the companion. Besides, giving him a rifle would just make him into a cheesy Bosk clone. And that would be lame.
  9. To be honest, the only thing I e found alignment to be good for is getting a relic or 2 while leveling. And even then, those relics are rather pathetic in the grand scheme of things. It won't matter once you reach the end game since none of those relics have alignment restrictions. I don't believe the pvp ones have restrictions, either, and are far more useful if you want to put in the time. In fact, I just finished leveling a commando and realized I'd gone 55 levels with absolutely no relics and it had zero impact on my character. TL;DR: Alignment means nothing in the current game. Do whatever floats your saber. But it would be nice if they changed or added to the system in some meaningful way.
  10. Maybe the upcoming bounty hunter event will have these schematics available. Seems to me one of the teaser screenshots was of the old battlemaster bounty hunter armor complete with fishbowl helmet. The event would be a good opportunity to introduce these schematics back into the game (and drop the valor requirement... please, BW?) and give the community something of value to work towards.
  11. This. It doesn't assume you're going to equip it when you buy it. The arbitrary 2 day bound timer doesn't count. It's to prevent someone from buying the armor, gaining the collection unlock, selling the armor for a metric buttload of credits, and then getting a free copy to wear. Your best bet is to contact CS about getting a replacement. It's impossible for you to have sold it, but you may have accidentally equipped it on a companion or, even worse, thrown it out instead of deleting something else. In either case, if they're fairly cheap on the GTN, that's certainly a viable and easy rout to go for instant gratification. It does not, however, do anything to address a possible bug. If anything, I'd recommend creating a ticket regardless and, should they provide replacement gloves after you've bought new ones, you can put those back up on the GTN to recoup your losses.
  12. What's more is that it is isn't consistant across all armorings and items. I'm not really sure where they draw the line, but it would seem to me that it either does or it doesn't and that should be it. I can somewhat understand locking an armoring if it carries a set bonus, although I find this to be just as arbitrary as some of the class weapon restrictions. But to lock an armoring with nothing but basic stats and ratings is silly. all it does is force you to trash or sell an armoring once you acquire a better one for that particular item. That's likely the point, but come on, with all this talk of legacy this and legacy that, you would think that reusing and repurposing armorings would be encouraged. Furthermore, I don't see it as especially game breaking to take the old armoring from my chest piece and stick it in my bracers once I find better (armorings with set bonuses being the exception in this case). As an aside, while I've kept my discussion primarily centered on armorings, it applies to barrels and hilts as well.
  13. I believe you get credit for the mask of nihilus (spelling?) regardless of which method you use to obtain the item as well. Of course mad props to the people who have it without the orange star in the corner.
  14. /sigh Back in your cave troll. It really is pathetic that you can't see the relationship between one limited time item and another. Sure, they may not be in any way related once everything is said and done. But the inconsistency with which the collection system allows copies would have to be my next bone of contention. Perhaps instead of being a hardcore raging douche, you could simply clarify if life day items were able to be copied to a character once unlocked. If not, than the consistency is there and I must revise my thinking on the subject. If, however, life day items are able to be unlocked and copied, than there is a potential issue.
  15. So that's why I was able to get unlimited copies of my gold scalene armor before it became available again, eh? Perhaps if you're parents had beat you more, you wouldn't have become such a douche.
  16. It's the same for the new mount. I think I remember reading something about the armor and mount being added to the achievements/collections on the next patch. Perhaps they'll be able to be copied then. Until such time is this is proven correct, however, I'm going to continued to feel cheated by the collection system.
  17. Regardless of class, if you're going to rely heavily on custom armor, cybertech is a solid choice. It allows you to fill 2 slots on just about every core piece of gear and save your coms for the "big purchases" of barrels/hilts and whatever nicknacks you may want for your companions. Enhancements are cheap enough by way of comms that you'll likely have enough after a short while to buy them even with the 7 or 14 with hilts/barrels or simply use comms to buy enhancements and get your barrels/hilts from the GTN. Should you not want or simply don't care much about keeping up a set of custom gear, armstech will allow you to keep your primary function of dps at the highest possible level (from a weapon rank standpoint) while you level. I don't think it's as versatile as cybertech, but there are also a wide range of non-modifiable blasters for you to research and expand on through the crafting system, so you can avoid even buying the barrels at all. Edit: incidentally, your companions look like they're set up for either case fairly well, but with Corso having an armstech bonus, Bowdar having a scavenging bonus, and Gus (?) having an investigation bonus, the class lends itself well to armstech. Bowdar also has a cybertech bonus, but the only way you'll get a bonus to underworld trading is through the legacy system and the droid parts from the shipboard repair droid. And even then you could just as easily buy the part to further enhance your ability to do armstech.
  18. Whatever the limit is, I can certainly attest to it being over $100 dollars a week. Having bought 3 of the largest allotments to purchase things for myself and my gf, that would have locked out another purchase made the next day, which it didn't. It could be more of a function of allowances by your banking institution, or it could simply be set at $200+ by EA. it's somewhat difficult to tell if you've been locked out of buying coins do to some arbitrary limit or errors in the purchasing process.
  19. If he's spawned, he'll be guarding the datacron in the area with the two heroic 2+ missions. He's ganked me a couple times while I merrily skipped around the corner to pick up my 'cron. For the level range, he's actually kind of a beast.
  20. It honestly doesn't even need to be that complex. They could even make a couple bucks off it by having a legacy perk "Combat Algorithm Upgrade" and have that unlock the ability to purchase new, conveniently placed weapon and generator options sold on the reduced price shipboard repair droid. It's not like the butler droid has any special attacks to take advantage of a weapon anyway. It's literally base weapon damage. They could even make is so he can only use shield generators, reinforcing the idea that his system aren't really for combat, but rather, "hostile environments". Ironically, this would make all that droid gear available as quest rewards actually meaningful since most of it has shield/absorb rating on it.
  21. My Jedi Knight looks like Buff Jesus. I'm not sure where I'll start, but it will end when I no longer look like Buff Jesus. I can only assume I was high on something when I made the character. I only wish I could remember what it was. There are other things I'd like to forget...
  22. While "rare" Jawagrams are annoying, I'd like to see something done with rep tokens once you're capped out on cartel rep. I think having a vendor (or listing on an existing cartel vendor) that exchanges these tokens at varying rates depending on quality for cartel certificates would be a welcome addition. Perhaps 10:1 for green tokens, 5:1 for blue and 3:1 for artifact tokens. In this way, at least you could eventually get something you wanted for one of your characters instead of paying real cash for a jawagram, useless rep token and some crafting materials that might have been usefull 6 months ago.
  23. Having a limit to the number of Cartel Coins you could buy would suggest that EA wants to limit the ammount of money you throw at them. While this is only my assumption, the fact that this could even be hinted at is rediculous. We all know EA likes to bathe in the money we shower them with. They absolutely love it when there's still sweat left on the bills from the work you put in to earn it. So no. I would venture a guess that they will continue the trend and happily let you max out your credit cards buying Cartel Coins. So much so that they'll have to have you write a bug report because the in-game counter won't accurately display the number of coins on your ledger.
  24. I leveled my consular as a shadow tank. Consequently, I kitted Fess out with dps gear and had him in dps stance. All that melee aoe on top of what the shadow ready dishes out was fantastic. Still ditched him once I got my healer, but only because I was tanking elites and champions while leveling and knew I could win if I drug the fight out long enough through healing.
  25. I tend to agree up to the subject of barrels and hilts. I almost always craft the purple equivalent for my current level and focus the majority of my crafting efforts to making sure I have the means to accomplish this at or slightly before I reach that level. Armor and mods are nice to have and certainly help with the survivability, but nothing is going to help you live through the fight more than being able to lay the hurt down in large quantities. Hilts and barrels quantifiably achieve this goal.
