Durham checking in.

You should be able to buy a pci-express motherboard and plug it in to almost any cpu nowadays. Trust me on this, youll love it.
Just make sure your other components will work with the new board... Memory, CPU, PSU or you'll end up at a new build anyway.

I can't even get into the phone queue. lol. It's tough when a few million people wanna do the same thing at exactly the same time I suppose. I'm totally making a security question spreadsheet this go around!
-
I'll be preordering ME3 for sure.
This is a diversion from their core strengths as far as I'm concerned.
-
Couple quick questions that if anyone has answers to, i would appreciate it. In terms of graphics will we be seeing anti-aliasing getting rolled out in our options. Also will there be a medium setting for character detail? i personally feel like its weird that it only has a high and low setting. Lastly, i know this is early access and the water is still being tested in terms of stress and capability, but is anyone else getting FPS issues. i get a lot of slowdown on coruscant even on the lowest settings. My PC is no gaming goliath but i should be able to run SWTOR on at least med settings. Specs: 3gb ram, 1.5 gb gfx memory, 3.0ghz dual core. Any answers would be appreciated.
You're missing your GPU class, that's actually more important than the rest. Tom's Hardware has fps'd a few cards on this game that you may wish to google.
-
Interestingly enough I'm more worried about enjoying gameplay after leveling.
Once the story is over then it's just points for points...
-
You need to lower your resolution for that card. What's the rest of the PC aside from the Graphics?
-
I would check with the support folks before you go spending too much money. This game is designed to run smoothly on a wide range of hardware. A knee-jerk spending spree may not be necessary.

I wasn't even sure when my date was... Looks like I waited till the 12th to redeem my code. Niice... I ordered a new 6850 before I redeemed the code. Talk about getting priorities mixed up! It's all good. I can't totally Geek until Saturday night so hopefully I'll have a zero lag starter world experience.

I'm irked because I spent 70 bucks on this game. I got the pre-order I beta tested the game and filed all of their paperwork, tested their bugs, etc.
I get my EGA yesterday and suddenly my Security Questions stop working. I can access my account from the office on my laptop, but not at home where I'd actually play.
I'm frustrated, and rightfully so. Every time I call their phone bank, I get the recording. At this rate, I doubt I'll be getting in before the 20th.
Now there's a legit beef. Though on the Dev Tracker they have said that virtually all of those issues have been a forgotten password. Not saying that's you, just that they've looked into it.
-
It should run better for its mediocre graphics, really.
I'm getting ~25fps at max, less than Skyrim, but Skyrim has significantly better graphics.
This makes no sense there must be some optimization problems somewhere.
-
I enjoyed exploring the worlds they had created in Beta. Though I was quite happy when time was running short that suddenly swift ability kicked in.
-
It was playing the Betas that got me to cough up the money for the game. I don't care about folks getting in before me. I'm just excited that it's actually starting up. The psychology revealed by the staggered rollout has been both entertaining and enlightening.

What's funny here to me is how I ignored such obvious names as Skywalker and Solo in the franchise for so long. It's the sort of thing that would make me question a book on first read these days. But I didn't let it bother me in this story.... lol, glad I got in young!

In 6 months everyone will be back on WoW preparing for Pandas and Pokemon. Which don't sound very stupid when you just realized you payed $60 to play a bad version of WoW on different servers with lightsabers.
I just watched all of the WoW trailers because of this type of thought. It didn't interest me. You're really underestimating the power of the Star Wars Universe on the average Joe psyche... It seems from my limited perspective that WoW is for folks that like to Geek on the MMO format and it's own tiered microcosm whereas this game is geared for the general gamer and story lover with the perks of some MMO enhanced gameplay.
-
I think that because of the Pre-Acessible Star Wars universe and Bioware's proven track record for story telling prowess it will be doing quite well.
I will be taking a break in March to engross myself in ME3 though...
-
Wait... you're upset for loosing shots at Auction and Banker? Are you playing this for fun or earning potential?
-
Folks seem very attached to their own preconceived names in this genre. Let go... be one with the force. You can use special characters here. You have the capacity to create new things. Fear not the change. There were a slew of folks running around in the Betas... no name I came up with was taken. It'll be OK.
-
The actual application of perspective on the part of the participants?
-
I feel bad for all the people that want to play on a pvp server and didn't get in day one
Have you paid attention to how the game is set up?
It's not the huge advantage people are making it out to be. The system even things out on it's own. You're going to have a different experience later on, not an unequal one.
-
Come to think of it... where on the box does it say you could have a chance to play early at all...
Or even still... Do you even HAVE a box yet? Oh that's right, nobody does.
-
Hadn't played a Star Wars game since the Atari until KOTOR sucked me in. Glad Bioware is a part of this!!

You're defining Launch by your own preconceptions. They're doing it differently. You're entitled to be disillusioned by your preconceptions. However, not only have the held up their end of the bargain... they've thrown in a bonus two days that were not promised. The launch has been successful other than one server outage so far. Sorry it's buggin' ya so much. You'll forget about it in less than a week.

This is EXACTLY where to ask this question.
As a PVE player im having to resort on doing PVP to have a decent progress rate.
