  1. Commandos still have all the strengths and weaknesses they had before. They are excellent at single target heals with very short cast times, and some big instant heals. They will struggle to heal a group through burst damage phases because their only AoE heal is Kolto Bomb and the Kolto Pods it leaves behind. I have a 55 Seer Sage and a 55 Combat Medic and I can say that Commando healing is more demanding. You have no HoTs (Kolto Pods SO doesn't count) so you have to react to all damage. Compare that to my Sage's ability to throw Rejuvenate, Force Armour, and Salvation. The Sage has so much passive healing I can go take a bio mid-fight (exaggeration). I love my Commando but there are nights I don't have the awareness to heal with him so I bust out my Sage. He's way more forgiving of sloppy play.
  2. If it's actually force choke it has to be a legacy ability granted for completing Chapter 3 of the Sith Warrior storyline. They would also have to be using their Heroic Moment for the ability to be usable. If it isn't actually Force Choke, I use Low Slash quite a bit to setup Shadow Strike when soloing.
  3. I've only ever played a Combat Medic from 10 - 55 so I won't even talk about the DPS specs. I have two 55 healers (Sage and Medic) and while I love the output of my Medic, I find playing him to be more stressful and frantic. Thinking about the best way to make healing an 8 man raid less frantic, while keeping the flavour of the Medic, I propose the following. 1. Get rid of Frontline Medic. It's stupid. No Combat Medic has ever been in a situation where they would ever use it. 2. Replace it with a 3/6% (or 4/8% more realistically due to the lack of Crit rating on Commando Medic gear) increase to tech critical chance with CSC active. By keeping an inrease to crit chance in Tier 6 it makes it impossible for DPS specs to get it and wouldn't unbalance Commando DPS. My Medic is critting 10K heals and being able to more reliably drop those in big damage phases (looking at you HM Dread Guard fight) would make healing a raid a lot easier.
  4. Getting back to the OP, here is what I do with my Shadow. 1. Force in Balance 2. Force Breach 3. Sever Force 4. Double Strike until Mind Crush Proc 5. Mind Crush 6. Double Strike There are a few things to keep in mind when running Balance on your Shadow though. The first is let your tank know that you are going to rip aggro as soon as you start DPSing. Even without Force Potency, Force in Balance hits like a train and will usually pull aggro at the beginning of the fight. The tank NEEDS to taunt or you're going to die. The key to this spec is ensuring your DoTs are always up. Conveniently, Force in Balance's cooldown is 15 seconds to the 18 second duration of Force Breach and Sever Force. Every cooldown, throw Force in Balance and restack your DoTs. Make sure to apply Mind Crush every single time it procs. This happens with less predictability so you just have to keep your eyes out for it. The only other thing I try to do is time my Force Potency for when Force in Balance is off cooldown AND I have a Mind Crush proc. It's some sweet additional burst to throw Mind Crush and then Force in Balance. Combine with Surge Adrenal for maximum boom. The thing with Balance Shadows is that you have about 6 - 9 seconds when all of your DoTs are ticking and your cooldowns haven't finished. During this time, the ONLY thing you should be doing is spamming Double Strike. Talents in our tree make it hit hard and it procs Mind Crush.
  5. My Combat Medic is currently 54 and about to ding 55 so take this with a bolstered grain of salt. I constantly out-heal all other healers in WZs. I break 500K healing easy. When you combine Trauma Probe, Heavy Armour and the fact that we have the best defensive CDs of all the healing classes (Reactive Shield & Adrenaline Rush are phenomenal) I can absorb a huge amount of punishment. My natural survivability usually requires 3 dedicated DPS to bring me down and with a tank actually guarding me, I become close to invulnerable. I think people mistake the Commando's actual contribution due to how easy it is to get massive numbers by dropping Salvation everywhere. If you are going to PVP with your Commando, make sure you throw Kolto Bomb on yourself before you use Concussive Charge. The Kolto Residue will give it a smidge more and also through the melees off you. Also, use Electro-net constantly.
  6. What does 300 Crit translate into for percentage? I'm at work now and can't check my Commando but I am currently sitting at 32% tech crit chance unbuffed and am trying to decide if it is worth pushing up to 35% unbuffed with Augments.
  7. It's pretty much designed for PVP and Operations bosses. In PVP, it's a nice little bonus because you're Force Wave is probably on constant cooldown. The fact that you might also throw the odd heal in addition is gravy. Ops bosses are immune to knockbacks and really the only time I find Salvation not sufficient to heal through raid wide damage. I really don't use it as a healing ability beyond that.
  8. What are your policies towards alts? I have two homeless 50's, one of whom I really, really want to get playing and gearing up. Can I bring one of them over and raid with you guys? Also, my wife and I typically play together. Is it okay if she raids too? Even if she is wearing a different guild tag?
  9. Hey everyone, I just wanted to post a thread talking about how much I love my Juggernaught. I have been a long time Pub player with 3 level 50's. For some reason I never could get into the Sith side of things. I had made a Juggernaught as my 2nd ever character, leveled it some and forgot about it while created and maxed out two other Pubs. I logged on to my Juggernaught last night planning on cleaning her out and deleting her and decided to run a final Flashpoint "for old time's sake". Holy ****, this class is fun. The animations are excellent. The abilities are fun and at level 23, I felt like a tank. I have a 50 Shadow Tank in Full Campaign/Dread Guard. He has never been as much fun as this juggernaught. I just wanted to make a thread where I could gush to my heart's content about how incredibly fun the Juggernaught is to play, since none of my other friends get it. I can't wait to keep playing and I'm looking forward to everything 2.0 is going to bring us.
  10. Hey everyone, I posted this in the crafter's thread but haven't gotten a reply in a couple days. I am looking for two Advanced Agile Mod 27As. Let me know if you can craft it and we can hopefully meet up today or tomorrow.
  11. I noticed that Agile Mod 27A is listed as a Mod which can be crafted on the server. Rather than whispering each of the 27 crafters listed on page 1, can someone let me know who crafts it? I need a pair of them.
  12. I had seen your thread (which prompted mine TBH) and while I can see that there are supposedly crafters on our server capable of crafting what I want, there isn't an associated name. So I could either systematically whisper everyone on the list until I got a hit, or I could make an independent thread. Thanks for the link though. I'm a hardcore forum lurker.
  13. Hi everyone, I am looking for some 27 crafters to make an Assault Cannon and a little bit down the road, a DPS Shadow Saber. I am looking for crafters for: Advanced Reflex Barrel 27 Advanced Agile Mod 27A Advanced Initiative Enhancement 27 If you can craft them (or know someone who does), let me know please. Cheers!
  14. I actually swapped the Elite War Hero Defense relic for the Dread Guard Healing one. I lost 1.5% Defense rating and gained about 600 HP, some power and additional healing. I also noticed during my EC HM run last night that the bonus self healing was invaluable through Ops bosses. My relic alone healed me 6K during Firebrand & Stormcaller. Anything I can do to make my healers happy, I am up for.
  15. Howdy everyone, My wife and I love to play together and are looking for a good home. We both have level 50 characters. She's rDPS and I have both a Tank and a Healer. My tank is my main and WAY better geared though. We are both full Rakata+ and are looking for a guild which raids in PST and can help us along in gear progression. We would love to clear EC & TFB HM (although we've never managed to find a group that's gone beyond the Dread Guard in TFB SM so that would be a new and unique experience as well). If you have room in your guild for a pair of 50's (trio technically due to my two), let me know. Thanks for reading!
  16. Hey everyone, I have been working on levelling a Combat Medic alt (ton of fun so far) and have run into a lot of trouble on Alderaan. Since I tend to play this character at really bizarre times of the day, it's not unusual for me to sit in the GF queue for a couple hours without a pop. This means I have to level him by doing the usual world progression. I am currently level 29 on Alderaan and getting my *** kicked. My gear is definitely contributing as it is currently a mix of Mandalorian Raiders (Rating 62) gear and Nar Shadaa commendation gear (Rating 58). I'm hoarding Alderaan commendations until I pop level 31 and can use the top end mods. I've tried using Aric Jorgan but the DPS output of the mobs are dropping him relatively quickly. I use my Super Charged Cells to burst him up but he's then killed before I can get back to 30 charges. Because of this I moved to using M1 to tank for me and while better, it now takes forever to kill anything. Combine this with Elite mobs who can lay down serious DPS and I find I am out of ammo and dead before the mob is. Am I doing something wrong? Or should Combat Medics just be over leveled for world progression content? I feel like a God when PUGing Flashpoints but feel completely useless when on my own. Any tips or advice will be GREATLY appreciated.
  17. I've decided to switch my spec from Seer to Balance because I am quite frankly tired of being a pinata in PVP (being the only healer is worse than having no healers). I currently have the 5 piece set of Battlemaster Force-Mystic. I like the 2-piece set bonus for it so I am only planning on swapping two pieces to get the Force-Master bonus. The only piece of armour I do not currently have for Battlemaster are my bracers. My question is, are armourings from Battlemaster items locked to the type of item? For example, if I choose to replace my boots, am I able to pull the armouring from the Force-Mystic boots and plug them into an orange quality set of bracers? I am sure I can do it with the mod but am wondering if it is possible with the armouring before I spend the credits pulling it out. Thanks!
  18. Hey guys, I tried to find a thread which discussed this before but couldn't. If it is one of those topics that comes up often, I apologize. I've decided I want to make a Trooper and run him DPS through the Assault Specialist tree. As this is a shared skill tree, I'm not sure which AC will benefit the most. I understand that Commandos have greater range and have to remain stationary and Vanguards have more mobility, I was just wondering which AC skills will benefit a DPS more. Opinions?
  19. Hey guys, My Shadow is nearing 50 and I have begun hoarding Warzone Commendations in earnest. Obviously I am going to jump into Recruit as soon as I hit 50 but my question is, what is the priority for Battlemaster gear? I'm not sure if I should be using my 2K Warzone commendations to buy a shield and then grind a bit more for a basic armour piece or if I should be buying two smaller pieces ASAP to get the set bonus. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
  20. That's weird. I play a Heal sage and without adding augments to any of my BM gear, jumped right into WZ last night. I noticed that with burst DPS being practically gone, I was up and running for longer. Combine the lack of burst with the new effect of Warzone Adrenals and it took significantly longer to kill me. In 1.2, if a Marauder looked at me, I was immediately respawning and trying to get back in the fight. Last night it took 2-3 players to bring me down, while still being able to drop the occassional heal for the group. I totally understand that as a Healer I can keep myself up but I definitely felt like I was no longer wearing tissue paper.
