  1. well, to be fair, there are also people who raid 3 hours before or after you. i'm not saying that it doesn't affect you or that it should affect you more or less or anything like that.

just stating that it's a little unfair to say that its fine +/- 3 hours just because it doesn't affect you at that time.

    unnscheduled downtime is bad. period.

The problem is this has been going on for the last couple of months. I can accept the scheduled downtime and the occasional unscheduled downtime but to have ongoing maintenance on the fly is just too chaotic to operate a guild under.

  2. I don't care if it's just two hours. It's right in the middle of our three hour raid time screwing us out of a night. And then they will probably break something during the patch and screw us out of tomorrow night as well to fix that.

    Exactly!!

If it was 3 hours before or after this time it would be no issue at all.

  3. I am apart of a guild that is APAC and it seems we need to become f###### fortune tellers or astrologists to predict when you guys are going to do maintenance in our time slot. Take a look into the crystal ball and you'll see my guild has only been able to run on Wednesday once in the past month. We even tried a Friday run last week because you guys chose Wednesday AGAIN!!! And surprise surf######prise Friday was a maintenance as well!

Is there something in the water over at Bioware?

What chromosome is missing from your employees?

Are you a bunch of IT nerds that lack basic communication skills and shudder at the thought of human interaction?

Do you even know who the President of the US is?

    I'm beginning to wonder.

Inform your customers so we can make contingency plans!!! That would be a great first step and secondly how about sticking to your regular maintenance time frames instead of continuing to run this ad hoc circus you guys have going on at Bioware.

I also suggest taking classes in MMO Management 101, Communication 101 and taking some customer relationship management courses wouldn't hurt either.

Is Wednesday your new maintenance time? If so, LET US KNOW! And stop f###### us around.

    Peace.

  4. But ppl like you don't seem to realise that we could have a good pop and our low ping and keep our community intact. I have a lvl 50 on the Harbinger and running any endgame content is like pulling teeth!

He benefits from the NA merge because he has 400+ms on Dalborra so he doesn't represent the population and is merely an outlier, something he fails to grasp.

  5. We are still fighting the good fight, but there has been nothing established, and like the petition unless its made public, it will still be the forum visitors thoughts only, open free transfers and email ALL APAC people (we know they can do this as they have done it already for transfers from NA) and give them a choice, only then can we establish how many will transfer the rest is speculation based upon the handful in this thread.

Agreed nothing Bioware says is concrete they have already changed the plan at least once and even Eric has no real idea on timetable or anything. We shall see what happens.

  6. They have no idea basically.

The merge is still a work in progress, and is not on top of their agenda.

First it was specific server transfers then two days later it was a "one time transfer of your choice". Bioware isn't the most competent bunch, so just sit tight and wait for our next bone to be thrown within 3 months.

  7. Bioware killed my guild when the guild spent months getting an elite group of players together on the Dalborra server geared and into a 16man wrecking squad. We had EC HM on farm and got 16m Keph down and a month later TfB came out:

We cleared SM in one night and destroyed HM 2 days later on 2 8man HM teams.

The leadership lost interest in the game and the guild fell apart. A guild of 30 odd raiders quit the game in one week, only 3 players stayed, and when I log on from time to time it is just dormant characters that will never be reactivated laying waste.

    GG Bioware.

  8. Oceanic/APAC/Australian servers are increasingly becoming the norm in big budget games and even some smaller ones too.

However, many companies fail in the APAC market because they just assume that the cultures of US and Australia, NZ, etc are so similar that if they "build it, they will come" - a flawed marketing philosophy at best. With all the flaws in the game aside, hopefully Bioware/EA learns an important lesson from this that you can't take the APAC market for granted.

And yet another APAC server carcass left behind by a gaming corporation.

  9. Ignore him. I skip right passed his posts now because I know he, and a few others, have nothing constructive to say.

I can accept some posters reasoning for liking Bioware's decision but these trolls don't even play on the servers, they are masquerading as APAC players to get a rise out of the community.

I repeat IGNORE THEM and they will disappear.

  10. ^^...Okay here goes.

ME: Andryah, you can't switch from being the official SWTOR "hall monitor" to the class clown.

You have spent the last year of your life "cross-trolling" into nearly every post on these forums that gets more than 5 views. When you post 800 times an hour, just flitting around, debunking an opinion here, and making a declaration there, no one wants to play around with your jokes.

"Troll-Me": Hyperbole. Your strawman argument highlights how self-entitled your opinion is. Eric and company wouldn't approve.

Me: I hope the sewage lines in your mom's basement blow up.

    I love you.

  11. Not sure if this has been mentioned but.....

The Oceanic Gamer website has done a story on the petition to save the APAC servers. A little media attention never hurts especially when they are sympathetic to the cause.

    Here is the link

Keep fighting guys! Over 800 voices and counting.

  12. Bioware don't care. If you go by the APAC forums most people aren't unsubbing over it either, just sucking it up.

There comes a point where you have to walk away from an abusive relationship, I think our relationship with EAWare has been really abusive over the last 12 months. To the point where if there isn't a reversal of this decision I will never pay money for anything they ever make again. I wish more APAC players were doing this instead of whinging, we already know they don't listen or care, do the thing they do listen to - don't pay them!

To keep the analogy, I have 15 days until my divorce from Bioware comes in. I hope EA and Bioware are happy together.

  13. I wish the game was still a roaring success because then the Asian community (outside of Australia) might of seen local servers themselves. But we all know that day will never come.

I'm happy for those that are getting an improvement in performance, the Asian community is an important part of APAC. Those of us who are expressing our concerns and anger at Bioware don't mean to agitate those in our own community, it is an emotional issue that we have no control over.

When this merge happens I'm sure some will stay and some will move on, some will hate the merge, some will love the merge and some will just deal with it. No matter where you fall on the spectrum, we game together and wish each other well.

  14. The only consolation of this NA merge is the small toxic communities that have developed will largely be diluted into the larger population that will ultimately be more diverse and more friendly to newer players.

I'm sure those who benefit more than I will have even more reasons and I wish them well.

  15. Fact is you choose to roll on an APAC server. If you were from a NA server during launch and moved to APAC, it was your own choice. You could have stayed there. If you wanted to stay with your friends or guilds who moved, then again you choose to move to APAC server. If you were living in Australia and moved overseas and want off APAC server, then fine. But in all cases, if you are unhappy with your server and want off - the solution for you is a character transfer, which BW stated is coming in future, not kill the server for those who are happy with it.

Just because you can lower yourself to a sub-standard level of qualifty and play at 200-400ms doesnt mean the rest of us have to do the same. And the problem is more than what APAC stands for. You got a free transfer and got what you wanted, so be happy with it, dont try to force the rest of us to think its the right solution.

Agreed. You had a choice to roll on the NA servers ever since early access yet you chose to go APAC knowing that they would be located in Australia.

  16. I have responded to specific comments made by you in this thread of yours. You want the thread on a narrow focus of discussion, then do not introduce your own snarky seqway commentary.

It seems like you want to narrow the discussion to "just accept it" whereas everyone has a different perspective to add in this discussion. This thread offers another key piece of the story and it is very hypocritical of you to complain about our complaining.

  17. No, you are free to complain and whine for as long as you like. But don't expect to do so without response. ;)

Are you an EA/Bioware spokesperson or affiliate whatsoever? I've seen you pop up in a lot of threads across a wide range of topics on this forum and I'm curious why you spend so much time defending Bioware?

And as for your views on the APAC servers. It is hard to take you seriously when this decision does not affect you at all. Most of us hold your views in the same contempt we have against Bioware when they say "we know what is best for you". I'll tell you what I told the trolls, show some compassion for an angry community.
