  1. Let's face the fact that BW wants you making alts and drinking from the river of PvE. That is where all their money was spent and that is why this is the "Legacy Patch". PvP wasn't their main selling point, the story was. So 2 things need to happen: 1) BW needs to stop pretending that they can do PvP, they are not Mythic. The glory days of DAOC are gone so unless you can do PvP better than the next MMO, just copy the PvP from someone else. 2) The Community needs to stop pretending BW can do PvP, They are not Mythic. The glory days of DAOC are gone so unless BW can do PvP better than the next MMO, just accept the fact that TOR is like every other MMO but with a better story.
  2. I'm pretty sure the heal from DoT crits is a fixed 2% of your total health and not based on your dmg, crit or surge. As for the Crit vs Power debate, it breaks down like this (for Watchman).... You get a 15% increase to crit to your HoTs through your talents, so if you have say 25% base crit, you're going to be at 40% crit chance on your DoTs. Your DoTs only last 6 sec, which is 3 ticks I think. At 40% crit chance, 1 of your ticks will likely crit, even at 45% crit chance your still only likely to crit once during those 3 ticks. At 50% crit you may have a pretty good chance to get 2 crits in those 3 ticks, but one additional crit means an increase of say 350-400 dmg. Plus you have to ask yourself, what does it take to get your crits up to 50% which is a base of 35%? You also have ZEN which make your next 6 DoTs guaranteed to crit, this is probably up every other Overload Sabers cooldown. So even if you have 0 crit, ZEN is equally as effective as having 50% crit. But having 0 crit, 1000 base dmg and 80% surge is way more effective than having 50%, 700 base dmg and 60% surge (When talking about ZEN). Having your crit somewhere between 25%, your surge around 75% and your base dmg should be around the 850 mark should be ideal but if you had some extra stats to throw around, power will give you the most gain.
  3. Make guard scale with gear instead of it being a flat dmg reduction. Make guard increase the guarded target's defenses based on the tank's defense skill. This will also make tanks actually wear tanking gear instead of dps gear.
  4. I went Jedi Crusader, Defensive Forms and one point into DW Mastery so I can could get Focused Leap. Since my main opening rotation almost always has Leg Slash in it and if you want your rotation to end with a Merciless Slash then you need Focused Leap so you can generating 4focus with Force Leap, unless you want to to do 2 Strikes before Merciless Slash. I use Rebuke alot so I might as well get Crusader, I may drop it to 1 point since it has a internal cooldown of 3 seconds and put it into DW Mastery. I put 2 points into Stagger, just so I can control my target a bit better. I was finding some of my targets were getting out of range before I could get Leg Slash applied.
  5. I have never played a Combat Sent, I am only lvl 36 Watchman but I also have a 50 Shadow tank and a 50 Sawbone and have done most of the HM. From what I have seen, both from a tank and healer perspective (with some shadow DPS) is that most of the “Mechanics” in the Boss fights are largely based on interrupts and movement. I know that it’s pretty easy to trade off interrupts with the tank or some other DPS in your group but the low cool down on kick is priceless. There seems to be no better form of sustained DPS than DOTs, with some of the mechanics in the Boss fights you’re not always within melee range or are moving so much that it’s much harder to do your optimal rotation because you have to concentrate on avoiding inc DMG. Overload and Cauterize are a huge chunk of your DPS and once they are applied, it is a pretty forgiving DPS mechanic when you can't just stand still and do DMG.
  6. I like this spec and probably be very similar to what I will go with in the end for mostly PvP. Although I am only level 25, to me taking 2/2 CQ seems like a waste to me since I doubt you will be leaping into someone that is inside of 5m considering that melee is 4m range. Most fighting is probably done right around the 3-4m range anyways so one small step back if you want to re-leap and that can save a point to put somewhere else. If anything I would take a point out and put it into Pursuit. As for Pursuit, how often do you use Transcendence vs Zen? I haven’t used Transcendence very much and it probably really shines at higher levels where your Centering generation is higher and you have access to Valorous Call. If you use the rush tactic of going for a cannon by blowing VC+Trans right off the start, is the 30% speed enough that a Marauder with just stock Transcendence wouldn’t be able to interrupt you?
  7. I leveled as a Sawbone because I thought it would be faster leveling than as a DPS but my intend was always to be a Scrapper for PvP. Since I didn't spend the last few levels grinding and farming lower lvls in PvP, I have no PvP gear so as fresh 50 with the generic PvP and PvE gear, should I switch to Scrapper or is it an easier path to stay Sawbone until I get a couple of upgrades?
  8. No this is like going into Bestbuy and giving the sales person $1000 and hoping you get the 60" TV you want. You may get a stereo or a microwave and even a small chance that you will get the TV you really want. More likey, you will get an instore credit for less money than what you gave the sales person, but that instore credit can only be used to buy a 42" TV.
  9. Actually it's quite simple, Make the daily PvP missions based on getting a certain amout of badges and don't reward the badges until the end of the match. That way you can still lose a WZ but get rewarded for "playing the objectives". Yes I understand that some classes can get badges easier than others but if you are playing your class "right" then it wouldn't take you 15 matches to complete the daily based on the requirements right now.
  10. There are 4 of us (Vanguard, Shadow, Sage, Commando) all in blues and 3-4 PvP T1 level gear. Is there a HM progression that we should be doing? We tried Esseles first thinking it was the starter flashpoint, maybe it would be the starter HM flashpoint but we can drop the first boss but the second boss always seems to enrage with about 5-10% left and we wipe. Is there a HM progression anywhere that we can follow?
  11. I Just used Escape once the fight started and they started attacking each other, let the jedi and sith figh it out until the CC breaks on Diago. Then let Corso harpoon him and kill him by interupting his heals. Then just sit back and let the sith and jedi fight it out. Rest up until the Sith is low enough and you are ready to kill her. It was pretty simple at lvl 27.
  12. Right now, this has little to do with skill level of either side, it has everything to do with gear and premades. With more and more players getting to 50, this is changing though. With no braceted WZs, the lvl 50 premades with all their PvP gear with Expertise on it will win 99% of their matches. It only gets worse, the stronger only get stronger because they win more so they get the gear faster and the pugs only get more frustrated. By the time a PuGer has enough Chap gear, the premades will already have their Battlemaster gear. You know how this goes, by the time a PuGer can get Battlemaster gear, they will introduce new and better gear. Why not make the in-match badges be the daily/weekly mission objectives instead of win/lose? That way someone who is actully playing the objectives of the WZ is rewarded.
