  1. Shockfrozen water had nothing to do with pve. You could not use it in combat. It's only useful application was in pvp to heal large amounts of health in a short time when out of combat.
  2. The fact of the matter is, some classes benefit much more from alacrity/accuracy than others. Classes that use melee as often as force do need accuracy, classes that rely on a lot of casted abilities may also find alacrity to be very beneficial. The issue, is that there are classes that can do much, much, much better than alacrity or accuracy, and that only leaves crit, power and surge. As it stands, there are NO crit & power enhancements. All power enhancements come with surge, alacrity, or accuracy. Since I believe accuracy and alacrity are both next-to-useless for my class, I find it very exasperating to gear myself. I get battlemaster gear, only to buy champion gloves for better enhancements. If I am to expect Surge to suffer from DR much more quickly, and much more drastically, then I need a crit/power enhancement to balance my stats. As such an enhancement is yet to be introduced in-game, I feel cornered into picking one of these three 3 less-than-desirable stats. TL;DR GIVE ME A CRIT&POWER ENHANCEMENT BEFORE YOU NERF SURGE.
  3. Also do not forget that alacrity is a double edged sword, faster casts mean faster consumption of resources. Bringing up my example of healing operatives again, the casted heal uses quite a bit of energy. Casting this 3-4 times in a row will leave you in a severely exhausted state that will cripple further healing output. Even without any alacrity, managing your energy is a delicate balance, and healing through burst damage will leave you in need of popping serious cooldowns to regain the upper hand.
  4. For some classes, yes. You fail to realize EVERY "healing" set, or any set that doesn't stack accuracy, stacks alacrity. Alacrity is useless for operative healers, especially in pve. Considering there are no crit/power enhancements, and that Tech and Force base accuracy is 100%, this nerf is a mushroom-slap in the face. It's like saying "Haha, by default all of your gear sets stack the most useless stat possible. Just to make sure that you're slightly more okay with that we'll just nerf all the viable alternatives, like surge." If you think stacking Alacrity (aka "Haste") is a good idea, then you do not understand what alacrity does and, more importantly, fails to do. Alacrity does not affect the GCD or HoTs/DoTs, for healers with only one casted heal this is a HUGE waste of itemization points.
  5. If you think the stats are fine, then you do not understand them, or how they affect each class. You're the baddie.
  6. Agreed! Currently I've been switching out most of the BM/Rakata enhancements with surge/crit or surge/power enhancements because alacrity/accuracy are useless stats. Now, instead of making alacrity or accuracy useful, they just nerf surge instead. What gives?
  7. +1 Also "Tox Screen" is vageuly worded, it says it allows the removal of mental effects, does this mean force DoTs? Because it doesn't remove those. So what is[/is] a "mental" effect?
  8. ...and now you know why there are so few operative healers. They all respecced into concealment. Some of the talents are broken. Some of the skills are useless. Some of the set bonuses are useless. A sorc/merc healer offers much more utility, aoe healing, and burst healing.
  9. In my opinion, Cloaking Screen (aka Vanish), is a defensive cooldown, not an offensive one. Use it to escape a bad situation, don't rely on it for extra burst. But, as the above poster stated, that is how combat works in pve.
  10. 1) I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, I spend the time waiting for combat to drop as a "cooldown" period. You just got behind some cover after running for your life, I wouldn't consider myself fit to jump right back into the fray. I do notice that sometimes it takes inordinately long for combat to drop whereas the usual ~8-12 seconds is reasonable it can take up to 20. These scenarios are not as common, but quite frustrating. 2) I typically have Sneak ready for whenever it's needed. I only use Sneak if I want to bypass a couple dps to make my way behind them to the healer. If I didn't use Sneak in this situation one of them would probably use a knockback to break my stealth. 4) I don't want to say "You're bad." but I find my lack of melee range not to be as problematic as you imply. Try using this gap between you as an opportunity to apply corrosive dart, toss a frag grenade, and spam rifle shot until you turn blue in the face. Do not forget Explosive Probe. Many of my kills are the result of getting off some last minute rifle shots or corrosive dart ticks. Usually my prey does manage to run away after I've burned them down to about 10%, but that's what our ranged abilities are for.
  11. I've noticed this, especially when moving around a lot. Perhaps the game is trying to figure out where to "point" it?
  12. Considering I have never, ever, seen Kolto Probes flying around chasing thin air, I highly suspect they are not visible to the enemy team when you are in stealth.
  13. 1) Can be annoying, but makes sense. You can exit combat immediately if you kill all targets you are engaged with. If you have to retreat then you don't deserve to be able to re-stealth the second you are out of LoS. 2) Can be very annoying as well, try and save Sneak for when you head near some enemies you wish to evade. Don't wait, Hidden Strike. If you let them knock you out of stealth you have only yourself to blame. 3) I agree, to an extent. The talent is vaguely worded and the effects unclear. Does it make stealth not impose a speed penalty? Is it a flat 15% movement speed increase? Does it stack with Sprint? It's hard to say. 4) If you are quick with your reaction time you can catch them. If you are slow, then they get away. Consequences for your failure. Keep in mind whatever CC they used isn't a trifle to be brushed aside, they blew some sort of a cooldown to escape you, and they deserve a fair chance at it. ----------------------- My only complaint is that after the HS damage nerf I rarely get the Annihilator (5k damage in a single hit) medal. Here are some of my scoreboards, I believe most of them are post-nerf. These should demonstrate I'm speaking from experience. http://imgur.com/a/6OmnQ#0
  14. You didn't mention the broken talents in the healing tree. Medical Therapy does not increase the healing of any of our HoTs. Tox Screen doesn't seem to allow me to cleanse any other debuffs. Sorc debuffs especially remain uncleanseable.
  15. It definitely is working. Step 1) Find a Mercenary of sub-par intelligence / competence. Step 2) Interrupt Tracer Missile. (Note: This will be easy as it is all he will cast.) Step 3) Enjoy your target's reaction. He will stand there dazed and confused. Typically this will last until Tracer Missile starts "working" again.
  16. Is your gear terrible? If you are putting out **** damage, try changing your rotation. Honestly, that nerf didn't hurt half as much as you lot are making it out to have done.
  17. Hidden Strike will pop that **** instantly, eat the stun then carry on. P.S. I'm dead serious, and I have specced out of Jarring Strike so their resolve bar will be empty and waiting to be filled when your 2-3s mezz is up.
  18. OP assumes we can just double the amount of moves we use, realizes that that does more damage in the end and calls the nerf a buff. /thread

    New WZ medal ideas

No new medal ideas from anyone? I guess it is a pretty encompassing list... I wonder how hard it would be to award "trick shot" medals... Like taking the air vent when stealthed as an operative and hitting someone on the nearby ledge with hidden strike on the way up.... THAT is epic.
  20. So I tried out Lethality. I did a raid and sa lot of WZs with it. Without damage meters I can't say whether I did more dps or less, compared to concealment. In pvp I felt like I had a lot less burst, required a lot more energy, and had a lot less defensive options. Without concealment talents, Vanish is a 3min CD and reduces healing by 100%, and it's VERY noticeable. o.o
  21. If alacrity just made HoTs tick faster... it'd start to justify it's stacking on our gear.
  22. What navido said. Every point he made hit home for me. My only gripe is that even with the 2-piece set bonuses from the pve and pvp sets (-4 energy cost and +15% healing) our 31pt talent still feels lackluster, it has VERY limited range, and a VERY limited number of targets it can affect and it doesn't heal for much and doesn't even tick on application. This means the only time you can safely apply it is when the target is not at risk of dying any time soon and is closely surrounded by hopefully 3 more slightly injured allies. I especially like his point with shield probe, however, I really want to know exactly how much it absorbs and be able to cast it on friendlies. If this wasn't just for me, I could *maybe* save someone who's at low health and *just* coming in to range. As it stands I have to get in range, then hope I can get a Kolto Injection off before he dies.
  23. OR as nutritious. No combat log = no proof. Demand a combat log before you QQ on the forums about numbers you can't even verify.
  24. @OP I don't know if I agree entirely with your system. But I sure as hell hate the RNG on those champion bags. The first 15 or so bags I opened yielded squat. Then I got about 4 earpieces in a row. After about 40-50 bags I finally got my first set piece token and bought a second one with centurion tokens. The time and effort I put in to get this paltry offering of pvp gear is ridiculous. It hurts even more when I see a guy with ~20-30 valor in full champion.
  25. We only have one or two abilities with a cast time / channel time and we cannot spam the cast time one without going into an energy hole. Kolto Injection - Heals a moderate amount, costs a fairly high amount of energy though and grants a TA (with talents). Alacrity is mainly affecting this. However chain-casting this will leave you as dry and barren as Tatooine. Diagnostic scan - With heavy talent point investment, this can restore a tiny amount of energy during a lull in the fighting. It normally takes 3s to channel. This can be spammed, as it costs no energy, but doing this more than once or twice in a row will leave someone at such low health that you'll burn whatever energy you restored just to keep them alive. Alacrity or "Haste" does NOT affect the tick rate of HoTs or the GCD... making it sub-par for what we mainly do (HoTs)
