  1. did they fundamentally change the cover mechanics, did they break something, or was it glitching or hacking? because i was in cover on the upper level of huttball and 2 different juggies lept right up to me from the floor below within 15 seconds. what's up with that?
  2. if you're lvl 55 don't go to hutta or coruscant. there's all the lowbies as well as 55's. your best bet is go to Voss. and for the character complainers... you do realize there's shady characters outside the cantinas/structures as well right?? I'm already max rep for the week with this event - half way almost through newcomer. will now be saving the rep tokens and waiting for resets. it's not bad at all really. unless you've got 12 or more alts of course
  3. agreed. My inquizzy is on the Dark Council for gosh sakes. She should be more than able to vaporize an uncooperative shady customer and not even think twice about it. but the "meh what can ya do right' and walking away when the customer wont' spill the beans is laughable. My character would in all instances torture the customer until they squeal.. or their faces melt off. either way just as good
  4. you can either get pvp gear, or transfer to a pve server. as for the geared pvp player vs the pve player.. yes it's more difficult but matchups also have to be taken into consideration. if i'm on my raid geared gunslinger and you're on a 2018 expertise pyrotech BH for example I will still completely shred you and most other pvp geared toons. (sniper/gs is just a massive damage AC). the converse is true. i could be a full conqueror healing sage and a raid gear pve marauder will chow through me in about 4 seconds - they have fantastic burst damage, slows, roots and stuns to keep you from escaping, and interrupts / cc's to keep you from casting or moving while they smash, smash, smash your boat gently down the stream.. it's not nearly as simple as a 'Nerf Expertise" as you make it out to be. class, spec, player skill and gear in general all go into account to whether you win or lose in open-world pvp.
  5. this.. and by travelling so close to the black hole's event horizon that time is actually bent and warped and thus allowing the Falcon to "fast forward" slightly and actually slip time a bit, saving phsyical distance and by extention chronological time. **** you science !
  6. i guess the event itself was a neat idea. I kinda liked the quests once there were enough shady characters to go around. am already capped for rep this week though and it's only thursday lolz. will continue to grind out tokens and not turn them in til after tuesday reset but only got through none, outsider and halfway through new-comer with week one's allotment of rep. question though.. i have several toons on another server. if i max that rep and then transfer one of the toons to my main server.. with the rep stack or will it just be a waste of time?
  7. This. As a MCH/MBH I kept a datapad full of aggressive creatures for every planet and would use the creature for the planet to open my attack in an attempt to trick my mark into thinking it was merely a creature spawn ( I wouldn't even name my pets - they stayed 'graul mauler' or 'rancor' for the tactical advantage of eeking out a few precious seconds of pvp advantage. they were often times so busy attacking the giant rancor (in the beginning you could use 2 or even 3 rancors at the same time muah hahahahaha) that they wouldn't see me around the corner of a player structure or hidden in some rocks or behind a tree, pumping shots or dots onto them. I genuinely miss pre CU. it was sooo deep and sandboxy and you could level however you wanted rather than quest hubs and everything on scripted rails. figuring the game out from scratch - i began playing very end of july / beginning of august 2003 with 2 R/L friends and the three of us grouped up wandering Naboo trying to figure it out. there were no glowing arrows or quest guides. it was just the 3 of us having a blast figuring out what the heck we were doing. I miss that
  8. I only went hutta first because I didn't realize you could only pick one quest. I intended to take them all hehehe
  9. I know designing an mmo is alot of work.. but at the same time why does patching one thing always seem to break another thing? the same bugs seem to continue to crop back up month after month and update after update. why keep breaking the same things over and over and over and over and over and over.........?
  10. but it's bee pre-season 1 since the middle of the crustacean period lolz
  11. the whole reason a premade is better than a pug is the voice chat. being able to speak to teammates real-time and coordinate is lightyears ahead of having to stand still while your toon is getting pounded on so you can type in chat that "need more snow" or "4 incoming mid". having voice is a large advantage. is it possible to pug over a premade with their vent.. yes of course. but the 2 teams are not starting out equal. one team has an advantage to begin and that continues the entire WZ. so not only does the pug have to play the wz but they have to really shine to overcome the disadvantage. the easiest way to make it even would be for SWTOR to add a voice chat function for groups both pve and pvp. then any team or op that wishes to voice chat would be able to do so. I currently have vent, mumble and TS all downloaded onto my PC so whenever I pug I can join the inevitable voice chat channel. by just having on in-game everyone would be on the same page and a lot of the complaints about pugging vs premade would go away.
  12. after one or 2 times through have one person mark in order of focus-fire importance and coordinate who to burn down. heals>mara1>jug>mara2 .. etc. i know in the heat of things it can feel like you're being chewed up by a buzzsaw and everyone scatters and freaks out but marking and organizing as hard as it can be in a pug, is your best bet. that and group up with a premade of your own. vent/TS/Mumble alone makes it way easier
  13. K here's the scenario. just completed a 30-54 warzone - I am a MM sniper spec.. had 500k damage (2nd overall) and had 55+ kills, I guarded nodes, pressured healers and focus fired anyone who was deserving. the other team had a sniper who was engineering spec.. had by far the highest damage in the match 800k+ but only 19 kills and just ran around sprinking DOT's on everyone not really guarding or doing anything other than tab-dot-tab-dot. this could be a silly question but would potential teammates rather I stay MM and play the standard way, or go engineer and just spam DOT's and top the damage leaderboard, but not be as much of a help - beyond forcing their healers to have to heal and cleanse more? I don't mind either way but watching that guy not even really trying other than hitting tab and 2 buttons to spread the DOTs while I was working my *** off to play the match the "right way" had me wondering which Sniper the community would rather play with.
  14. suspend disbelief. in the Bane books several times the story points out how Bane can't cure himself because Sith don't care for healing.. that only the strong survive and if you can't survive you don't deserve to.. that healing isn't the sith way. but for SWTOR.. you couldn't do ops or FP's without heals and they're part of the Trinity so you have to have them. i guess it's up to you whether you want to enjoy an MMORPG, or follow cannon
  15. he is great for crafting and great for alts. it's like 350 cartel coins to unlock him and he can be used right at lvl 1. I use him on all my alts and have found the best way to roll is just leave the lvl 50 gear on him, but remove the rifle and put an orange mod'able rifle on him and keep the mods current to your level. that way he will hit the mobs you attack (the lvl 50 rifle he comes with seems to miss the majority of the time for me across numerous alts and levels). he does far more damage out of the gate than any other companion while leveling, plus that super assassinate skill with 5 stacks you can wipe out silver elites in a single blast to help clear epsecially pesky nodes and class quest updates.
  16. if you want a challenge use the 66 gear or player-crafted blues and purples. show how leet you are. we get it your 8 man NiM group is the Leetiest Leet that ever Leeted.. good for you your mom must be proud but how does it being easier for someone else affect you? and is 30 seconds really that big of a deal? there's rarely a point were you progress down to where you're absolutely stuck and can't get any further .. but another 30 seconds will have you farming the zone. it's not going to be a big deal in the grand scheme of the universe I promise. don't pout little sprout.. things will be okay
  17. inventing a difficulty level above NiM which would enable them to not develop new content and merely re-release SV and TFB again...
  18. or just grind out to 50 or 55, then go back and do the gray class questline and you can sleepwalk through. I level a fair amount of toons with pvp so i typically have to go back and class quest lines when bored. i already have all four buffs though so it's no big deal there.
  19. pvp from 40 to 54. max out your regular comms and rated comms. then you can buy most of the partisan pvp set. you'll be able to use that to run the 55 HM FP's to get 69 gear and from there you can run SM/HM of the ops. gear to 72 and you're ready for NiM. should take a couple weeks to get 55 with full coms. a few days to get 69 geared with FP's (especially if you can spec heals for faster que pop) and then you're gtg. need on everything as you can sell the purples you don't need for credits so you can pull the mods out and augment the pieces you do need. by this time next month you'll be raiding HM/NiM and know your class at least one if not 2 different specs (heals/dps). you're welcome. ps.. you may catch hate if you ninja gear in FPs or need on stuff that's not a clear upgrade just for one mod or for a companion or for the 4 piece set bonus.. if this is the case then buy a name change with cartel coins or off the AH. you can more radically server transfer if you still get aggro from server mates.
  20. I have a full partisan 2018 exp - fully augmented - healing op. if you don't have partisan gear and are relying on bolster, and are trying to solo me good luck lol. you can't scratch me. even if you cc me, when I have 2 stacks of kolto probe (and I will in most instances have 2 stacks up at all times) you won't hurt me enough to stall me when the cc wears off. I will not blow my cc break on your cc because I can see your health is 23k or 25k or 26k and I know you're not geared. I can debilitate you to cc you as well, roll away, or flash bang you if you're near some teammates where it will splash around the cc. i even have some grenades to cc you as well. 1 vs 1 .. if you're not geared you can't hurt me or even pressure me. the operative concept in what I put above is "you aren't geared" if the player attacking me is geared I am pressured to run away, spend more time healing myself and trying to LOS so I'm less likely to be healing my team. if 2 or 3 dps are coordinating and focus-firing me it's even more difficult to heal myself let alone my team. i have to break out my toxic scan cleanse and vanish to hopefully get some distance away and heal up. I am not OP at face value. where the OP sense comes from is if players are in pve gear and don't bother to get pvp gear (relying on bolster), they're not working as a team, not focus-firing healers and running around the warzone clueless and not playing to the objectives. when you stand in the middle and peeveepee jam Hypergate while my team is capping both pylons it's not that I'm OP.. it's that you're not any good.
  21. ive got a razer mouse and have alot bound to it. as for targeting.. use the UI interface to make your raid frames and health bars as big (tall and long) as you can tolerate and still see the screen. you can see debuffs as well this way and it's easiest if you just target through the raidframe rather than hunting and trying to manually click your teammates as you're running around. ive tried all 3 methods to target but the raidframes max sized and using raidframes is the best of the bunch and i've pvp'd as both a scoundrel healer and an ops healer literally thousands of pvp matches, as well as open world pvp. raid frame FTW
  22. you can have almost an entire set of partisian gear as soon as you ding 55 ... as long as you put in the work from 40 to 54. you can max your rated comms at 4500 and your regular comms at 2750 going from 40 to 54. so as soon as you "ding" 55 you can go to your handy pvp gear vendor and purchase just about a full set of partisan gear as long as you transfer exchange the rated comms to regular comms. so the argument about not having the gear is invalid. yes it will take many many warzones and you almost have to level exclusively 40 to 55 in warzones, but if you're serious about your pvp, then you can feast on the 40 to 54 warzones where nobody has gear, then use the max'd coms to buy all your pvp gear as soon as you hit 55. if you craft all your augments and augment kits as you level as well you can even have the 13 pieces fully augmented within 5 minutes of dinging 55. it all comes down to if you want to earn your gear and work for it.
  23. i just don't see why they don't match pure pugs against pure pugs and premade vs premade with the wz finder. I have both imp and pub toons. i bounce back and forth the same play period of a few hours. on my imp toon.. the wz is all pug imps and the pubs have a guilded group of 4 coordinating and wrecking shop. sucks a few games, so i think.. i'll just go on my pub toons then. so get a wz, pure pug on pub side, and there's an imp guilded group of four wrecking shop on the pug. why set up skewed matches? there's obviously premades and pugs of both factions. it really seems like pure pugs and que'ing solo is at a disadvantage in pvp. you're already handicapped before the match even begins. now recently there's a bug where chat lags in the wz several seconds from hitting send.. til when it is in the chat /ops box. so now not only are you behind the 8 ball, and lots of rage quits so it's 5 vs 8 (the 8 contains the premade vent guild) and now you can't even effectively communicate with the pug 5 because by the time "west" comes through ops chat the node is already gone. the pvp needs addressing

    chat lag in wz's

already it feels like the /lfg puts a pre made on vent against a true pug. sure okay LTP and the dead horse yada yada. but the thing is the /ops chat seems to be lagging a lot a good 4 to 5 seconds or longer between hitting send and it appearing in the box. so now not only are the other team coordinated, know each other and on vent, but the pug can't even use ops chat to try to fight back. really? lolz at bw
  25. 4 am.. can only get 5 or 6 true pugs on pub side.. meanwhile it's a couple ranked teams pugstomping with vent and guilded.. one of the wz's even got all 8 from same guild somehow into the unranked. it's *********** insanely silly to just get farmed and crushed this way. step 1 to fix - get cross server. step 2 to fix - grouped up que's get paired with out grouped ques; solo que get's other solo que's. at least keep everyone on equal footing.
