  1. The most disappointing reveal along the development cycle of this game was the limitation of humanoid forms as main chars. I know people in MMOs tend to fall into three camps: (1) Pick something that looks like the kind of human they are (or aspire to be) (2) Pick a hot female (and maybe rarely male) char, so they have something nice to look at. (3) Like to pick something non-human as this is an RPG and it is no fun playing as yourself I hate that the popular option (3) is unavailable to me. It leaves me with (1)- which is the option I hate, or (2)- which is frankly a bit sad. I pick sadness over hate, but I'm not happy about it. I do find it sad that SWG had much superior character customisation options almost a decade ago. I had a slightly pot-bellied Mon Calamari, he was a crafter not a fighter, so wasn't in the finest shape. We seem to be going backwards not forwards, very sad. I'm sure it will be simply be the unavailable race/class combos being opened up... sadly.
  2. Whatever the counterarguments, this just looks bad, and annoys people, which as a service provider Bioware should be looking to avoid at all costs. We have a PTR but it doesn't seem to function as one, it doesn't seem significant bugs are being squashed before patches go live. That is a big problem. I've played MMOs for many years and when you play one you tend to get a sense of the developers mindset and quality. I thought Bioware were a gold-plated developer before this, but I think their inexperience in the MMO market is being exposed. I just hope that internally they are aware and in the process of fixing things fast, because, lets be honest, we vote with the unsubscribe button and they probably have until GW2 to make this work.
  3. We are currently playing on a free pre-access period, and for that I am grateful. But as others have said I pay to play, not to wait. By the 20th this needs to be better. 2/3 EU servers had signfiicant queues a little earlier, and that is still the case for the English Language EU servers. I am impressed that the mechanism controlling access to servers and giving information about queues is so good. I prefer to know I have a 5 min wait, to logging on to a laggy DCing nightmare. But it needs sorting by proper launch day, because 30 min+ waits are completely unacceptable on an ongoing basis. RIFT had free server transfers, a cool solution....hint hint.
