  1. Lol @BobTheTeepo in no way does Eric's statement categorically say we will get ops. The only definitive thing he says is that the team will refocus on group content. Now the fact he say this was in answer to question about ops would suggest that we will probably get ops but it in no way was he committal about that at all.

Given their previous statements about ops: you will never go a year without ops again, and last years as soon as Kofte launches we will start working on new ops. You can surely see why no one trusts them even a little bit can't you?

Also if they only refocus on group content in January it is very likely we will start to approach 3 years before any new ops get launched and that's even if they do actually commence work on any, because again he does not state they will he just makes a very strong suggestion we should expect some.

I honestly don't think its too much to ask for some clarity due to the pretty poor content we have had to endure over the last year. Oh and I do like story as well, raiders can like both :), I just thought it was pretty poor

  2. I got you covered:

    • What we said is that after KOTET's launch, the team is refocusing on group content. Our hope is that as a part of the January Producer Letter or Livestream, we will have more specific updates on what is to come. This includes all types of group content, but was a specific answer to the question of Operations.
      .

    -eric

Ehm ok so the question was about ops and you said you are refocusing on group content after KOTET's release. Could you just yes you are making new ops (you might need to sign that in blood for us to believe you though), or no it will be other group content.

You cleverly just don't commit yourself at all in that answer but strongly hint it will be ops by saying its in answer to a question about that. Seriously after 2 years can you just give us a blooming straight answer please? If you need to bribe someone to be able to do this or take them outside for a quiet chat pls get on it

    Thx

  3. But they are, I am talking about the entire game population. Even during the "golden times" yes there were much more raiders and doing NiMs, but still that was around 10% of the game population, dont forget that. I have started to play the game very slowly, was my first MMO and for over a year i didnt know what a flashpoint or operation is!! Imagine how many of such players are in the game still now!

Raiders and PVPers are the loudest, that is for sure, we are on forums, reddit, youtube, twitch, everywhere, but we dont represent the entire game population (sadly so), that is the main problem. Even on these forums, i came here, only because im bored at work during the day!! I bet 70% of the games players never go to forums!

The problem is that SWTOR never really attracted a LOT of raiders, which i dont understand since the operations and stuff is great and that is what Bioware realized over the years. Thats when they started the Cold War against them with things like Priority ops and NiM not dropping highest game gear. They want to drive them out and just keep the 95% of the people who play RP and dress up, buy CM stuff and are fine with just getting story content for 150,- euro per year.

Nah more used to take part in ops Biofails number from ancient guild summit

38% of level 50 players have played in an operation

This is from the dulfy live blog of it http://dulfy.net/2012/03/05/swtor-guild-summitlive-blogging/

To me that sounds like a fair number of people used to like ops and its not a number pulled form the air but biofails own number. So I would posit that its their failure to provide decent amounts of content that have caused the drop

  4. @Gravek Only that there are none coming with the Xpac. They might be putting some out in early 2017, livestream in Jan about it.

LOLOLOLOLOLOL so the end of first qtr, or in 2nd qtr.

Wait for Jan for the announcement of the announcement!

Yeah far too little way to late, I gave them the whole of this expansion with no new ops they can go **** themselves if they think I am doing it again

  5. Well ops!

Someone posted a thread here saying new info about this will be out in January.

    http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=896588

However as for what some are saying in posts above. "Rage quit on the 07/10/16 when the idiots gave us glorified flashpoints" Not enough info is out yet to jump to that conclusion. You maybe right but this is not confirmed. Even if you can do Op's as a 4 player group with comps, does not mean you have to. So if that is the case nothing has changed. Also if you read this thread

Having different difficultly levels may make casual gaming better for all.

I appreciate that but when kofte was announced and they said we would get no new ops due to the amount of work lvl ing everything to 65 I took it on the chin, they also said as soon as kofte was released they would start working on new ops. Now we have another new expac with no new ops at release why should I trust them any further? Simple answer is I don't and I have unsubbed today and many of my guild will as soon as their game time runs out.

There is a reason that the population has tanked over the last year and its not because kofte was the most successful expansion ever, most unsuccessful would be more accurate as no other has killed so many servers

  6. Whiskey, I thought that since there are no new dumb***** operations being announced that you were unsubbing and leaving. Operations are not important and certainly not the determining bar to which someone should play this game. Instead, you're still here crying like a little three year old. Someone please call the WAHHHBULANCE! Either enjoy the game and it's upcoming content or leave. No one will miss you either way. :rak_03:

Actually what is dumb about ops lets see since kotet several European severs no longer have any population and even

TRE which most of them moved to has lighter population than before. Hmm those ****y ops maybe matter more than you think. I know for fact lots more of my friends have unsubbed since this announcement. Since most of the casulas cant even clear easy hm flashpoints I wish you luck on new stuff that no one knows the mechanics for, although they may just give a Jesus bot to make you unbillable.

Just because its not your thing doesn't make it dumb, I don't call story players dumb but I do expect mmo content in a mmo

  7. /Agree.

.....Particularly since when informal polling has been done in past years, when OPs were still being rolled out on a regular interval, ~6% of players said OPs were the most important content to add to the game. Which frankly, is about normal for MMOs. Over the years, people who regularly play and enjoy raids in MMOs has hovered between 5% and 10%, depending on the MMO.

I agree that Wow is the 800lb gorilla in the raiding space.... and it has also caused a good number of players over the years to burn out on raiding in general. As time moves forward, I see more players who loathe the raiding treadmill and want to do other things.... which does not mean that they will not run raids ever, just that raids are not a priority for them. My guess is that for this particular MMO, even back when they were releasing new OPs, the analytics showed it was a perpetually underplayed segment of content in the game. So, yeah.. they are following their core audience interests.

No MMO is everything for everybody. People who love to raid, naturally need to seek out those MMOs that make raiding a priority in new game content. In my view, SWTOR has NEVER been a go to MMO for raids. SWTORs sweet spot is story arcs, and clearly there are people who prefer them over other forms of content. That said, of course many players play a variety of content... and many also prefer and put most of their attention on one or a few facets of an MMO (seeing the rest as just the burden to level and get ready for end game).

Players should seek the MMO that meets their needs, and some players (myself included) actually need to play multiple MMOs in order to get ALL their needs met... which is easier each year as fewer MMOs remain on the market that require a subscription to access. This is where flexible access models work in the players favor.

Note: lots of MMO players very much appear to still enjoy group content.. it's just that they prefer more adhoc, non-treadmill, style group content. So OPs going away, and more flexible grouping options for FP or other group style content makes perfect sense to me for this particular MMO.

So if that's all correct why have so many servers died? is it because there lies, damm lies then statistics? Serioulsy if so few peeps play ops why have so many left during kotet? You cant argue they haven't the facts speak for themselves. I would suggest either their statistician is incompetent or his mate has given him a back hander to give the results he wants

  8. #immersivestory

    #resturntoclassicbiowarestorytelling

    #choicesmatter

    #kotetmostsuccesfulexpansiuonever

what have they in common? they are just the biggest load of ******** ever

the story is something my 2 year old niece could have written

and most successful expansion? really? if you count totally killing several servers I this expansion successful then yeah it is

  9. I agree, its because they don't want to lose their PVE player base by not saying there will be no new operations so they keep people in suspense and then once it is released they will say sorry guys no new operations and then they can allow people to unsubscribe.. Milking the money, milking the money.

Exactly this which is why when I saw no new raids mentioned I immediately rage quit because I have had enough. They just want us to hang around for another few months and make another few quid well they can go **** themselves this time

  10. Assuming you can find a stream of the announcement from comic con disappointing if you can't as sure it was streamed last year

    For every single mention of

    Epic Storyline

    Choices Matter

    Immersive Story

Return to classic bioware story telling

    Cinematic story telling

Kotet was our most successful expansion ever (never mind the empty servers its true I tell you true)

Improved community interaction and / or customer relations

You have to take a drink

For every mention of OPERATIONS you must drink 3 fingers of chosen spirit. (Would have said bottle but after all the expected mentions regarding story didn't want you needing hospital treatment)

So go to the offy and get a **** load of booze you will need it

  11. shroud/resilience doesn't work on the huge grenade in NiM (anymore?). It works just fine in HM. That's the OP issue, however deflection does and it's enough for tanks and deception/infiltration (as in NiM anyone can get the grenade as you guys know).

As for hatred/serenity, given its awesome (*cough* *cough*) damage reduction I would personally add a prayer to the Force and lots of nice words for your healers ;)

Shroud never worked in Nim as lots of us poor shadows / assassins found out to our cost when it came out. So yip overcharged sabre, deflection and absorb adrenals are your friends. If aren't topped up by healers for any reason a med pac is also a good shout.

On the Brightside its better than at launch of Nim when it was one big hit and if it did hit you as an assassin you pretty died, they changed it to 7 smaller hits due to the one shotting of assassins. They did have a thing for one shotting assassins in this raid as terminate was horrendous as an assassin when it came out as it was hit deflection and pray.

I have a feeling you can sabre reflect it as I seem to remember a lot of qq from the shadows / assassins as to why the **** resilience no longer worked but sabre reflect now did but I may have mis remembered as I hate my jugg tank with a passion so aint played it in ages

  12. Their implementation of level sync is piss poor, I assume it was nicked form ffxiv where it is done much better. You are currently so overpowered when you are synced down to a planets level you may as well still be lvl 65 in full 224 gear.

The main issue is you still have all your lvl 65 abilities, if it was done properly you would lose access to the abilities you did not have at that level and maybe it would make those areas more interesting again. Even then they would need to do something about the blooming over powered companions.

They should either do it properly or remove it

  13. The problem is the Game statistics which we cannot see, since Bioware never publishes them. They see what we dont and they said for example that people dont do NiM ops, well at least only like 5% of the game population does them, so there is no profit there, so why invest into it?

Well yeah the main issue is their statistics, players love story allegedly, which they looked at over the period of when 12x xp was on and peeps were bored so why not get that class you never did to 55. Was nothing to do with loving story but great way to skew your stats.

All I can say is if there stats were correct and players loved story why have so many left since kofte came out? Just look at all the dead servers, even TRE is half empty at times and considering pretty much all of TOFN is now on TRE and loads came over from the progenitor doesn't say much for their statistics.

That does not even take into account the number of raiders that left due to the retarded decision not to have Nim Rav and TOS so you ended up with SM which was too easy for the vast majority of raiders and HM which was just to hard for the majority of people who would expect HM to be a challenge and then all the Nim peeps who it still wasn't quite hard enough for. I think they did a prett awesome job of pissing off the whole raiding community in 3.0 as well.

Anyway If you haven't guessed I think their stats are bull. The old line: There are three degrees or classes of lies; there are lies, damned lies and statistics could never be more apt.

  14. And if they where Multi Player then u lose those that like to solo. So what is the Diff? Can not make every one Happy....

Well because they like to say this is a AAA title and if it really is then they should be able to do what FFXIV do and release solo content, pvp content and raid content. To give you an idea in the current patch, just out, FFXIV have added a new raid, new dungeons (flashpoints), a new trial (think colossal monolith idea), new pvp content and oh new quests etc and they do content like this every 3 months and its costs a similar amount to SWTOR. If they can cater to the whole community not just a section of it with releases like this why can't EA and at this point you realise why people are leaving. Far more content is obviously released for WOW as well

And if KOTET does contain no new raids off to play Legion in WOW I will go as another year without new raids just will not cut it for me
