  1. From the launcher, clicking Play results in one of two things happening. 1) Launcher disappears, screen goes black momentarily as if launching the game, then goes back to Windows. 2) Launcher disappears and nothing happens. Reboot didn't fix, repair didn't fix, complete reinstall didn't fix. Was working as of 24 hours ago.
  2. Preordered, although I'm disappointed that they (apparently) haven't done anything to modify the gear drops. Yeah, you level a lot faster, but you'll get squishier the higher you go.
  3. They prioritized player population over NPC decoration. Apparently it's more important that their engine is able to handle 50 players in my stronghold at any given time (as if that's ever going to happen) than the ability to populate the stronghold with NPC decorations.
  4. It's worth noting that vendors, visual fluff NPCs that serve no actual function (dancers, bartenders, etc.), and companion pets count against the cap. I hit the cap after placing companions for two classes, seven vendors, and a few pets. I mean, really guys? I was willing to look past most of the things I'm not liking so far about GS, but this is ridiculous.
  5. I was just about to make a thread. Yeah, I'm sure it's unintended, but seeing your character from the knees up in character select gives a better view of the gear and the backdrop. Looks cooler all around. It's just a pity it doesn't happen all the time. Click on any other character and it goes away. Devs, please make it so this isn't a bug anymore, but working as intended.
  6. The LFG tool is only helpful if it's cross-server. If it's not, you'll still be stuck for hours trying to find a group. If it's not cross-server, I really wish you guys would admit to the necessity and merge servers. I have no plans to unsub, but even I'm getting annoyed with how hard it is to do anything.
  7. Seems like no matter how big my stack is, I tend to sit around 15-20% success rate for new research. This rate does not change regardless of whether I RE 10 items at a time, or one at a time. The only way my mind can justify that is that the programmers are either bad at math, or forgot to take into account the fact that if your chance for new research is 20%, and you RE a stack of 10, there's no way that you shouldn't be getting new schematics.
  8. Yeah, that led me to start gathering parts and selling on GTM. Was doing pretty nice. The Grade 6 Purples sell for about 10k a pop. Was usually getting at least one of them per round of 3 missions I sent companions out on, plus around seven or eight blues total. Seems like since Tuesday I haven't gotten more than one or two purples, and reduced blue yield as well. Fess up devs.
  9. Noticed a pretty significant drop in the number of Sliced Tech Parts I'm getting ever since maintenance this week. Significant enough to make it no longer profitable to gather them. Can anyone else confirm the same?
  10. Off the top of my head: Kashyyyk, Dantooine, Felucia, Ruusan, Mandalore. Those suggestions are for open-world additions. With the possible exception of Felucia, I think they're all too rich in lore to demote to just being home to a flashpoint.
  11. I can't be the only one that noticed this, but from speaking with guildies I might be the only one bothered by it. Keeping FOV turned on in space combat is comparable to playing a flight sim originally made for 4:3 in 16:9. Planets, moons, shadows, ships, they all get stretched in unnatural ways at the edge of the screen. Anyone who's ported Freespace without modding aspect ratio knows what I mean. I didn't like FOV to begin with, but I can deal with it right up to the point where it turns circles into ellipses.
  12. Yeah, I'm still not seeing where the changes from ME1 to ME2 were bad by any stretch of the imagination. Granted, DA2 I didn't enjoy as much.
  13. I thought the purpose was pretty cut and dry. The only one I've run into is outside Mos Ila on Tatooine, and that's clearly there to prevent raiding the opposite faction's main planetary hub.
  14. Most people go back to work on January 2nd, assuming they get holidays off at all. I wouldn't sweat it until Bioware releases sub numbers.
