  1. If you do not understand the burnout rate of MMO's, especially SWTOR that has pretty much ignored PVP for the last few years, and the need for a new player influx to replace drop out losses for the later lvl 60 brackets than you have missed the boat. If people get discouraged at 15 from ever pvping again, then PVP in this game will die off even more.

    Greetings

The story lines will be the same for Sith, so if you don't mind seeing them twice, go for it.
  3. The server isn't closing. It does have lower population than the other servers, but speaking from experience on other servers I'd rather have 120 people in fleet actually in que for something than 400 people in fleet instances with 300 of them standing around doing nothing. I don't know about end game participation, but the lower levels are fine.
  4. As far as not letting gunslingers in, a easy RP reason to would be that gunslingers could represent private military contracts (ie hired guns) something that every sophisticated army IRL uses, to supplement your active troops.
  5. I think what he was saying that while, yes on the PVP servers you *could* PVP on Illum but you can also PVP on Hoth. Illum was designed to be a PVP planet and now it just has a few dailies on it. Also, while I like the 2 new warzones, that makes 2 since launch. I'm hoping the rate in which warzones go live is shorter than 1 every six months.
  6. So far I like the group of guys, I haven't had a chance to run much operations or groups with them since Im still in the recruitment phase, but hanging out in the shoutbox on the website everyone is pretty responsive and friendly. The recruitment process is a bit long, but I can understand their concern about problem players. If your looking for a decent and easy going group, this is a good place to start.
  7. I've played on a few of the other servers, and I can say that the Jung Ma guilds are some of the more squared away guilds. The only reason I can think of is that RP-PVP draws a different type of crowd.
  8. I've jumped over to the Ebon Hawk Server, simply because I still like to play but would like to play with more than a handful of people. When they allow transfers, most likely after F2P, then I'll wait to see if Jung Ma becomes active again. My biggest gripe about Ebon Hawk is when a I see a jedi in open world and I cannot kill him. That is why I originally came to RP PVP server. I have every intention of coming back to jung ma, but right now there just isn't enough people online to make it worth my while. I know that at some point they will allow some form of transfers so it isn't a big deal to make new characters since I'm assuming at some point I can transfer them all back together. I'm sure there are other active people doing the same.
  9. The server transfers before were quick, and seamless. I doubt there is any physical transfer of data. The fact they want to charge is also ridiculous
  10. There was a world PVP event on Hoth a few weeks ago.
  11. I rolled up a character for Ebon Hawk just to see. The population is larger than Pot5, and I've had no problems getting into warzone after warzone. The nice side of it that is that it is still a RP server. Instead of trying to flee to a PVP server, where your just going to do warzones anyway, there is still a large RP community on Ebon Hawk. Moving to RP with the Jung Ma Refugees on Pot5 would be the same as just staying on Jung Ma. With open world PVP pretty much not existent, I'd rather still keep the RP and the PVP than just the PVP. Plus I believe for RP events you can just tag yourself as PVP in open areas.
  12. I'm pretty sure I recently traded comms for WZ at 10 to 1 not too long ago, and I thought that was included in 1.4 But these new changes, especially with the 10m stuns for BH / Trooper is ridiculous. I should have to close with a melee guy to get inside his jump to range to try and stun him. The patch does benefit healers now if they can stay somewhat outside, as they don't have to worry about being stunned to break chain heals from guys in the actual melee area. BH / Troopers were not the stun problems it was the packs of cloaked operatives stun locking the hell out of people - which hasn't changed in 1.4 WHO 1). Thought this was the issue facing PVP was wrong and WHO 2). Thought this was a good fix was also wrong.
  13. This could be attached to the fact that war hero gear is now cheaper, and warzone to ranked warzone comms transfer at a 3 to 1 as opposed to a 10 to 1 previously.
  14. He is a troll, and idiot and obviously not worth having a conversation. It is just as easy for me to say bioware is killing PVP by adding ANOTHER PVE instance to draw people away from PVP. He is an embarrassment to any group he represents and should be ignored as such.
  15. Well, nothing has happened so there isn't a need to choose yet. While I am a vocal proponent of doing something because of low pop levels, it is important to note that when this all went a go a year ago the RP-PVP servers were all maxed out. The transfers of people to this server, and the number of either subscribed or unsubed but selected to this server would be more than enough to keep people active. People have chosen to abandon the RP-PVP server. In biowares eyes why protect a dead concept if people either are not interested in logging in, or waiting for F2P to figure out what they want to do. Personally I love this server, I love the open world PVP, I love the RP aspect. You will not find the caliber of people that flock to this type of server on any other server.
  16. Considering the cost of moving characters is nothing to bioware, I think 25 bucks is a bit much. I just moved my characters from GW2 to a different server to join friends. Cost me nothing and took 1 min.
  17. PVP, or conflict, is a huge driving force in RP. Removing that aspect would kill off a few servers, drop a ton of people. It isn't going to happen. Star Wars itself is about the conflict of good and bad. They didn't just talk about that conflict, every now again someone shot someone. Having twin skill sets would be confusing, many people actually do BOTH, and having to remember what this does and what it doesn't do would be frustrating. Plus on PVP servers most open areas are PVP flagged areas, and while you do about 95% PVE in them - which skill set would be used? Resetting your skill tree bother you that much that you would rather destroy this game?
  18. Since this appears to be more appropriate place to have this discuss than server forums, I would say In Lieu of closing down Jung Ma, or force merging us into another server (which I unfortunately do not seen either happening any time soon) give us the opportunity to join cross server ques with another community. I don't care if you want to keep the PVPers with the PVPers (us and pot5), or the RPers (us and ebon hawk) with the RPers, but it would be a nice stop gap measure until something else is worked out. I don't see waiting until F2P launches as acceptable. Even if it launched tomorrow bug free, with the restrictions placed on the F2P model it would a month before many people were in a position to add to the server. On top of that it would do nothing for the post 50ers, as the F2P isn't available there. The 1-49 level of the game is the biggest draw, I don't see many F2Pers continuing past that with a subscription. The thought of having to start all over again on another server, coupled with the lag issues and frustration with the situation has made some of the FEW people that I know left playing go play GW2 while they work this out. I believe that with this modification we have a better chance of people staying on the server, but get people to come back to play which would raise our own numbers up.
  19. I don't want to beat a dead horse, but the only people really left on Jung Ma are the hardcore guys, either that started a character and just want to get him to 50 for the pride of it, or the guilds that internally are still active. I know that Bioware has its hands full right now with the 1.4 glitches, but pretty soon there won't be a Jung Ma player base (I mean as people will let subs run out) especially with the sub 50s and F2P on horizon. Once the towel is thrown in, it is over. Getting people to come back to the game when they have already emotionally invested in a new one will be next to impossible. I don't know the back end of it. If it would have to move a mountain for the cross server que thing to work out, then I'm just plain out of options. I like this game, I liked the people on this server. The other servers would be in the same boat if they hadn't merged 4 servers into one. They merged what, Jung and Ven together and Ajunta Pall bailed?

    Free Jung Ma

The only way F2P will work is if the other servers fill up. I don't think that will work. If Bioware had a way to make open PVP worth it, then people would flock to the PVP servers. Otherwise, it's WZ's all around. I can WZ on a PVE server. As a point, Ebon Hawk has 171 people on Drumond Kaas right now. Jung Ma has 71 people in FLEET.
  22. Are there any active RP IMP or specific BH groups out there? Looking for an active RPish group that does PVP as well.

    Free Jung Ma

The biggest problem facing Jung Ma isn't the doomsayers, it was the death of Ilum. Open world PVP is useless.... USELESS. Sure, when I rolling around and I see a Republic player I like the ability to kill him and I take every chance I can. I like to be able to protect PVE spawns, it would be annoying to have a pub player roll by and not to be able to kill him. But, everyday people are afraid of getting ganked, so they roll on PVE servers. Since bioware has no plans to reintroduce Illum, or open PVP awards, Jung Ma is outdated as a RP server. The PVPers went to Fatman, the RPers went to Ebon Hawk. Jung Ma is now a bastard.

    Free Jung Ma

Alright, this isn't whining, this is paying for a service. I want to play a MMO, I pay every month so I can play a MMO and interact with people. Jung Ma fleet can hit a max of 100 people at prime time, Ebon Hawk, hits around 270. My ques for FPs, Wz's and guilds are scattering off. I hear people are waiting for 1.4, but it isn't a content patch. So, bottom line. I don't need to pay a monthly subscription to play mostly alone. There are other options available and if I am not a happy customer, I am not a paying customer. I have put a lot of time into the many characters, their gear, and what not. I do not wish to do all that again, I want to enjoy the "fruits of my labor". There are only a few servers, the server requests would not be "overwhelming" at this point. Open transfers, let the pops settle out. Otherwise, there is always something else to play.
