  1. I have one or two of these, but it looks like there are certain stages at which you cannot abandon them. So even though you have no interest in completing the mission, you might want to try progressing in it by a single step. For example, I had a mission that I could not abandon, and it turned out all I had to do was go talk to a guy to complete that part of the mission and then after that I could dump it. Also... regarding the patch notes being inaccurate, I don't think that's true. Sometimes what happens in these cases is that there is a bug and they fix it, but then there's another bug that is sort've similar that gets missed. The unlootable nodes is a perfect example of this. This problem was MUCH more common before the fix. So they fixed the main issue. But there must still be another bug that causes this to happen which only occurs a lot less often.
  2. You know you can create more characters on another server, too, right?
  3. I can't see how they could possibly NOT have wookies. Eventually, anyway. Personally, I would like to be a Jawa. I doubt it will happen, though, since no one can be allowed to see under their hoods.

  5. My guess is that this is a technical limitation. Hiding a single item (the head slot) is pretty easy. Whatever code looks to see if you have an item in your head slot just ignores that item when drawing your character. But what you're talking about is hiding part of an item, not the whole thing. Hiding the entire chest piece is one thing. But hiding part of it is a completely different matter. I'm pretty sure it would mean having a completely different copy of the art for every chest item with a hood: one with the hood up and one with it down. Don't get me wrong, I agree with you - I want the option to put my hood down. But I don't imagine this is going to be a big priority any time soon.
  6. I have to wonder why they chose 8. Seems like a pretty small limit. Other MMO's I have played all have more. I'm guessing 8 came from the number of possible classes. It would be nice to have more than 8 slots per server for free, because I'm a big alt-a-holic. But I wouldn't be too upset if you have to buy more slots, assuming that the price is reasonable compared to other MMOs.
  7. Oh, yeah. News and Updates... Nah... too obvious. That's just what they'd be expecting me to do!
  8. I'm at work, so I can't play. Just wanted to read the patch notes. I've been looking for like 20 minutes and I can't find them.
  9. Yeah, I don't see why space-barring through is a problem. Do we have any real numbers on how many people are actually listening to the dialog and how many are just hitting space? In my experience, most of the people in the Flashpoints are actually paying attention. I base this on the fact that I've had discussions in chat about the decisions people make. And if someone wants to space through, so what? That just means that they have to sit around and wait for the rest of us to watch the video, anyway. Anyway, if they left all the existing Flashpoints as they are and then added new ones that are on a par with Esseles, I would be very happy.
  10. There is a vendor for every planet on the fleet. If you don't see the vendor for a particular planet (like Taris), then you're just not looking hard enough. Once you outlevel the planet's gear, though, they are pretty much useless. I spend that I can on lockboxes, and if I end up with an odd number, then that's it, I just ignore them. Can you mail them? That would be nice. Then, at least, I could send them to an alt at a lower level.
  11. So, the biggest thing setting SWTOR apart from other MMOs is the story element. Right? I've played through Esseles a few times, and the Imperial counterpart (is it Black Talon) a couple of times. And they are SO much fun! I absolutely love being in a group and making a conversation choice and then waiting to see which one of the group gets to answer and what their answer will be. Especially when it's a big light/dark side choice! So, why is it that none of the other Flashpoints have this? I'm up to level 37 on my main and I can't claim to have done all the Flashpoints in the game. But everything after Esseles so far has been pretty generic with hardly any conversation at all and just one fight after another. I barely even know what the storyline or the goal is half the time. I really wish they would add more story elements into the other flashpoints. Or more flashpoints like Esseles with lots of dialog and choices. Am I alone in this?
  12. I happen to love the story elements of this game. I didn't know what I was missing in other MMOs until this one showed me the light. I don't think the end goal of every MMO out there is beat all of the other MMOs out there. Realistically, it's going to be a long time before any other MMO comes anywhere near the popularity of the biggest kid on the block, whose name I won't mention here. Every MMO that hopes to be successful (regardless of the competition) needs to have a gimmick - something to set it apart and appeal to players who might be missing something in the other MMOs out there. And there can be no doubt that the biggest thing setting SWTOR apart is the story elements. Having every NPC fully voiced was a huge gamble, and it must have increased the cost of producing (and maintaining) the game by a lot. But I, for one, am enjoying the hell out of it. Having said that, some of the story elements are better than others. The Imperial Agent story is FANTASTIC. Esseles and Black Talon are incredibly fun. Most of the other flashpoints I have done so far are pretty boring and generic with very little story in them at all, IMHO. I with more of them were like the first two. Personally, I tend to think of this game as more of a single-player game that also has some cool grouping MMO elements, rather than an MMO that's heavy on story.
  13. Never experienced that sound issue. Regarding invisible walls, this has happened to me once or twice, but never in combat. I just assumed it was something to do with internet lag.
  14. I would really like the ability to use follow on enemies. It's really useful for melee types like Jedi Knights. I got used to using Follow in combat when playing a melee-type fighter way back in my City of Heroes days and it works really well. What I do is I map Follow to the letter Q on my keyboard. So when I finish off one enemy, I press tab to select the next closest one and then Q to follow him. This turns me to face in the right direction and starts me moving toward my target much more quickly then the slow manual way I have to do it now.
  15. It's been a long time since I played WoW, so maybe I am wrong, but I could've sworn it worked that way. I know for sure I've used this on other MMO's. I could be thinking of DCUO, Champions Online, or maybe even City of Heroes. But any way you slice it, it's incredibly useful, and not just for healers. Want your whole group to always attack the same target? No problem. Just select the tank and you will attack whatever he attacks. And if you're a healer, when you use a heal, you will be healing the tank. Super simple. Much much easier than... Oh, okay, so the tank's health is low and I set him up as my focus target, so I have to press the focus target key which I mapped to the letter 'n' and then my heal power is mapped to the number 7, and in the mean time, I have to use both hands, so I can't move around because I don't have a third hand to use for the mouse. Yeah, okay, I know, I'm exaggerating, it's not really THAT bad. But there's really no comparison in terms of ease-of-use and simplicity between the way it is now and what I am suggesting.
